The missus and I visited Budapest for a 3 night break this month.

Pleased to report the city is thriving, mega busy and feels like its buzzing.

As we are both degenerate gamblers we went to the casino evening evening.

The 2 city centre casinos Las Vegas and Tropicana casino are medium sized, and have 200+ very modern (And some older) slots and table BJ, 3 card poker games and live roulette tables.

The min bets on slots were 50 HUF, about 20p and max bets 10000 HUF £25 so most people are catered for lol

The table limits we found high, the min on blackjack was 5000 HUF (£17 UK £) and roulette 5000 HUF although you get 1000 HUF chips which is a bit more reasonable.

You have to pay for even soft drinks, but to their credit even cocktails and alcoholic drinks were very reasonable, 2 Pina Coladas were 3500 HUF about £10.

We did venture out to a casino near Heros Square, about 3km from the city centre, which has a 2000 HUF min bet on Blackjack 3CP and Roulette, and was part of the same company.

On a side note we has stupendous luck on the slots, betting no more than £1 a psin max, we ended up over £3500 ahead, hitting so many massive features and Major jackpots etc

We went to Tavex bullion dealer and bought a Gold Britannia, 2 gold sovereigns and a 1KG silver bar. Happy days!! The airport security kept fondling my silver bar, I think they thought it was a bomb lol

Will defo be going back next year!!

haha, would love to have been the bloke behind you watching that scene play out at airport security with the silver bar. The quizzicle looks from the security staff, the explanation that it was bought and paid for from gambling winnings, the blue rubber glove must have been considered

Sounds like a fun trip. Reminds me I need to get back to this city, it is such a great place.
