Hey,

as probalby the most of you already know, right now, I'm playing at Bodog.
I'm truely suprised by the great support, the great software and the great bonus offers.

Now, I was wondering what software they are using? I read a couple of threads here and one giy said it is RTG, but I don't think so. I just doesn't look like RTG.

Also, what is behind Bodog? I know that Calvin Ayre is the owner, but it seems to be a incredible big company. How can it be that they don't have a lot of advertise in the internet? I have lot of friends who are plating online, no one of them has played at bodog before! It just doesn't make sence to me that they are that big then.
Where are all the players coming from?

Bodog's casino is definitely RTG. The reason that it may not feel like RTG is the fact that they don't have many of the newer games, and the games which have a progressive jackpot are separate from the RTG network, so they'll be somewhat lower.

As far as their poker room, they use proprietary software.

i want to try them but seems like the only county they don't accept is Canada...
Any one knows why??

No, but I can guess. Pinababy lives there. Everyone has a line they just won't cross, now matter how big the rewards. Bodog's is the International Boundary.

But I will try and find out if there is another reason as that is a bit intruguing.

Isn't their HQ or whatever located in Canada, too? I think that'd be a major factor..

Good question, main operations were in Vancouver, claim headquarters are based out of Antigua after high-tailing from Costa Rica, and now with the Mohawk's, the North America licensee per se:confused:, Quebec,iirc.......I don't think Calvin stays in one place very long if you get my drift!!

"In the spring of 2008, Ayre officially announced his retirement from Bodog to focus on the works of his charitable foundation, though he doesnt plan on giving up his bad boy lifestyle anytime soon."
Found this tid bit in Calvin's bio on Google

The third and forth paragraphs of Post #27 is interesting.

That's pretty much my drift.

FTR, Shackleford (The Wiz) has always puzzled me why he would risk his reputation with BDL as his sole site advertiser (and then his absurd 2008 BDL payment disclaimer imo hence removed I believe). It's not like other's would not have been knocking his door down to be the sole advertiser on his site I would think. The Wiz finally addresses the BDL advertising et al situation, positively at present fwiw, in his December 2008 newsletter. I have it but I am sure it is available on his site. Kinda humorous iirc as he blames his associate, Michael Bluejay who I believe may be a CM member.

That said, one of the poster's for sure in WBOWL's link is a multiple times banned member from CM and based on a previous CM request, I will now lurk this thread!!!

They used to be VERY fussy about who promoted them; I applied to market them about 2 years ago, but they turned me down because I would not promise to make them the highest profile casino on my website... I told them to get stuffed!
So that's probably why your friends have not heard of them - not many places advertise them.

After their financial turmoil last year they contacted me again inviting me to promote them on my own terms - no strings attached. Because of the uncertainty of their finances & very long cash-out times reported by many players, I told them to get stuffed!

;)
