Bovada, Bodog, and SlotsLv have been removed from Casinomeister - and a number of other websites - due to their marketing firm BettingPartners forcing their affiliates to open a Bitcoin account in order to be paid. I can understand making this an option for affiliates, but to force this upon companies is not a "partnership." Sure, they can tell their players that they can only use Bitcoin. Players can take it or leave it. But you do not dictate to your marketing "partner" how future payments are to be made, especially when concerns a product like Bitcoin that is rife with black market usage and other dodgy transactions.

You are missing my point. If you sign up at a casino, they will give you options for payments and withdrawals, so you can take it or leave it.

And if you sign up as an affiliate NOW, you can take it or leave it as well - same options.

But anyone who has been in a business relationship with them - even if it's been over a decade, has been given the same non-option. Casinomeister is the advocate of fair play, and this is not fair play.

Players are generally not locked into a long-term relationship with the casino, affiliates are.

People of all sorts are usually pretty tetchy about what currency they are paid in, never mind someone telling they'll only pay you in some virtual money that you may have no desire to be involved with.

I would have liked to see this alot earlier when they stopped responding to the players PMs, didnt address threads even though they were flagged to them by myself and others including the admin here.

It's retrospectively changing terms and conditions in a contract, for the benefit of the party that made the changes. No-one likes being on the receiving end of that, right??

Yes Dunover, I get it. Actually, it would seem an overt breach of contract. And yes, I'd be pissed too if I was one of their affiliates. You guys are businessmen and I appreciate that you can get screwed just as players can.

Let me send you the PM I sent Bryan and Max. It will explain a little more where I'm coming from and that I'm not so much pissed as disappointed.

It's all good man. I've even joked with Bryan about being the "fox minding the henhouse" so I assume after his post he's cool with me. Just stating my opinion/viewpoint, on the Bitcoin comment concerning players - I do realize it is not the same thing but in light of the recent card issues facing U.S. players, I thought it was a bit...er...um....well....

I agree with Bryan and we have also removed these brands not only for the breach of contract but also because who is to say a month or so down the line they do not force this on players as well..

I agree that with almost total freedom to play and be paid in W.Europe, and given that most bods on here that matter live there, that the US side of things sometimes goes a wee bit unnoticed. I personally don't promote any US-facing stuff but I intend to soon and from what I understand it's a bloody nightmare compared to Europe/ROW. Remember the US players DO benefit from decent affiliates who collate information from places like this and ethically filter and promote the decent sites. It is a two-way thing though; mess the affiliates around and they tend (as in the case here) not to be minded to promote those programmes/casinos any further.

Bitcoin may actually prove to be a godsend for US players being as it evades the feds largely and their snooping and interference. I can see why (given the paycard problems recently which you mentioned in your PM) as a player you would be an advocate of it. In this case though, I feel Bryan/Max are right - basically the affiliate program is being lazy here and has just thrown their whole lot in with it. This is completely useless to most European-based affiliates most of whom have never felt the necessity to open a Bitcoin account as they are basically free to receive payment bank wires from anywhere with little or no restriction.

So the programs have basically dumped the hassle of Bitcoin on the affiliates solely for THEIR program. There is no reason they couldn't have maintained bank-wire alongside it, Paypal or whichever - at the very least for a lengthy transitional period.

And it gives a big middle finger to those sites whom have promoted them loyally for years and brought them a huge chunk of their custom.

I agree. I would not be surprised if by this time next year it is the only way to go. Being the suspicious lurp that I am, I intended to let the Bitcoin thing lie until some of the kinks get worked out, but now I'm starting to get curious. That is usually not a good sign for me.

As far as promoting U.S. facing casinos, I understand your reluctance. But hey, we are going to play anyway and better for you and some of the others on here get a cut than all my losses go to some faceless corporation.
