Hey hey,

Deposit of £100 at Betway turned into a £750 withdrawal. This morning I had about half-a-dozen missed calls from a blocked number. When I finally answered it was a rep from Betway congratulating me on my win (I was sure I was about to get some bullshit roadblocks to my withdrawal). What he was offering, though, was a 20% bonus on any winnings I wanted to keep in my account with NO wagering requirement.

I thought about it for a moment before telling him not to bother and to just go ahead with the full withdrawal. But, surely if there is no wagering requirement then I could just say "yeah, keep the whole £750 in", get a £150 bonus with no wagering requirement and then just withdraw the full £900?

Well well, they are Accredited and there it states "Will not entice players to reverse cash withdrawals with bonuses or other incentives" ?
not good

i think this 20% bonus for you is sticky bonus, no wager, but you cant withdraw it, only play with it :)

To be fair to them they did not say the bonus required a reversal of w/d but rather the surplus winnings kept in the account. You can say they were smart in saying that as the player could request a smaller w/d and leave a larger balance to get the bonus.

Was this the casino or sportsbook side?

The casino is Microgaming, and the system isn't set up to handle sticky bonuses. If a bonus was given of this type and with no WR, they Clearplay system would let you withdraw the lot, and this is just plain silly as Betway may as well send you 120% of your requested withdrawal. I don't think this is what they had in mind.

As for standards, simply saying no WR does not get them off the hook, it is still and inducement to reverse and continue playing.

Casino side.

I did clarify that he definitely said with no wagering requirement. He gave the example that if I decided to keep £50 in then I would have £60 to play with. There must surely have been a catch? If not then I'll be kicking myself!

That there's no WR required only contributes to the inducement IMO. Odd proposal. It still means that you would have to reverse part of your withdrawal, right? So, it is a violation of the terms by which accredited casinos should abide.

Doesn't surprise me.....

Very poor behaviour from an accredited casino IMO, although I have had my own bad experiences with this group. (GNUF/Betway.)

I was actually going to lodge an official complaint about GNUF with regards to a withdrawal they dicked me around on earlier in the year, (I had it all written up and ready to post), but I was new to CM at the time and didn't want to look like I'd just come here to shit-stir.

If a casino behaved towards me as GNUF did today, I'd definitely lodge a complaint, put it that way.

As is always the case when it comes to this sort of thing though:

Microgaming = 32Red, anything else makes no sense to me.
