Betbright has gone bust and will not honour anti bets that are placed for after 5 March incudling Cheltenham.

The company has been bought by 888.

As of 5th March 2019, Dedsert (Ireland) Limited, trading as BetBright has ceased offering gambling services to its customers on a permanent basis.

Your balance is currently 0.

All existing accounts will remain open for withdrawals for a period of 30 days. For those customers with a balance, we advise logging in and withdrawing all remaining funds immediately. Those without a current or pending balance do not need to take any further action.

Any unsettled bets on your account that are due to settle by midnight on 5th March 2019, will be settled as normal within this time. You are free to use the Cash Out facility where applicable. All bets that are due to settle past 5th March 2019 will have their unsettled legs made void.

Where did you get the info they went bust please? I haven't seen anything stating that.

Yeah, alas this was on the cards. I have had trouble getting affiliate payments Betbright (Kelfast) late/non-payment in the last 2 months. I have been paid up to date now, but before I received the last payment I had an e-mail (about 2 weeks ago) telling affiliates to immediately pull all ads and Betbright logos etc.

Naturally this told me something was amiss straight away. I Skyped the aff manager to clarify and got some baloney about it being a short-term offer suspension, we will be back with a new offer soon bah blah.... Now if that were the case they'd have simply said 'remove the bonus offer' but not all the ads and marketing altogether, so I pretty much expected this thread eventually. :(

Looks as though they are processing account balances (withdrawals) but have had several e-mails today saying bets placed for weekend football matches and racing next week have disappeared along with the money.

No, they haven't.

They have been voided, a different thing. Any bet due to be settled after midnight yesterday, 5 March, will be made void. These stakes will be returned to accounts in due course in accordance with the rules. When they are, players have until end of the month to withdraw their balances.

Think about it. 888 have been fined £7.8m already by the UKGC. I can hardly see them buying a business for double that amount then being involved with a non-payment scandal.

Bettors are understandably pissed-off for two reasons:

1. They may have got prices and odds that are higher than those now available elsewhere.
2. The refunds may not come in time for players to re-stake those bets elsewhere, if they need those funds back in order to do so.

So any pending bets will be returned?. Or will they honour pre post bets for example?.

ANY bet due in full or part to be settled after 5th. of March will be voided.

Now I'm not sure what happens if you have an accumulator-type bet over many events, have won say the first 3 choices and the 4th. choice is on an event after March 5. Whether they strike the final event off and pay on the winning choices-to-date OR void the whole thing, I do not know.

If I had got say 3 choices right, and my tenner was now worth say 200 quid going on a final event after March 5 and they voided the previous wins too and only paid me £10 back, I'd be effing fuming. I would say the former would be applied. But I'm not sure.

Only the selections after midnight last night will be void. The rest of the bet will stand and be paid out using the non runner rule, ie, 4 selections, first 3 won, other playing today, a win will be paid out on the first 3.

Bit of a shitty time to do it, just before the biggest 2 ante-post betting events of the year, imagine taking 100-1 for a horse in say April last year, it being void today a week before the race and its price now being 2-1 :(

As I said in the above post, I bet many have lost out this way.
I’d never place a sports bet at a casino like them, only the huge uk ones I’d trust.

Yes, as I said I'm glad the former is being applied, as you confirm. It would be outrageous to void all the bet.

I also agree with the other part, regarding a price being unfavourable now compared to when the bet was laid, as I said in the post before the one you quoted. The timing of this is a bit suspicious, as their liability over Cheltenham festival would be the highest of the year bar possibly Boxing Day.

Betbright have always been iffy in my view. I promoted them a little, probably 6 or 7 years ago, and almost immediately started getting reports of them limiting accounts, the players in question weren't betting big, 50p lucky 15's and the like. I stopped promoting them then. Never understand why a bookmaker would limit 'normal' punters quickly, no wonder they make a loss if they don't accept people's bets

888 to honour Cheltenham bets in U-turn

Was just about to post that :)
Not football bets or anything though, and the UKGC are looking into the matter. Rich Ricci could get into trouble over this.

888 have gone over and above here (something I never thought I would say about 888) to honour the bets as they didn't have to, they didn't buy the customer base or bookmaking business.
