Australia and online gaming

Since australia changed there gambling law's ive not had one decent win. Even a simple deposit changed. No longer accepting skrill or netteller. And some wont allow mastercard or visa =( ive not yet made a deposit via bitcoin, but played on bitcoin casino's. Not 2 many good online casino's left for australia, but i have been playing on a good site the past month or 2.....Wikiwin's casino. Come's with an awesome bonus package plus a no deposit cash bonus. Also each week they give you a cashback rebate, usually on a monday plus again on a friday. A spin the wheele bonus also. Wikiwin's is the go for me atm, here in Australia. Cleopatra casino also because of there huge game selection =)

I would be very cautious regarding Wikiwin. Their response to a complaint generated by ThePogg was astonishingly contemptuous, and enough to warn me off this casino for life.

Had a massive 2000 AUD cashout from 20 dollars on emu last week, seemed like they delayed my verification process alot but was in my bank in 2-3 days after all was done :)
IMO games are boring though. I feel as if they dont payout as much as the old ones i guesse ill try save my money for when videoslots or somthing becomes available again

I
Casinos, Affiliates etc are not allowed to advertise or offer their services to Australians but Australians can still use the websites without being prosecuted.

There are a few not many that still accepts Aussies but not mentioned for reasons.

Its really tricky as I don't think the Australian government can make certain offshore casinos from other countries pay a fine so therefore some casinos don't feel threatened.

Also Australia don't have a licence to give as it doesn't exist as yet. :)

I have won back my $100 loss from yesterday at Mucho Casino - sounds Mexican but all the dealers are in Latvia !
And I have changed my mind about playing the RNG games as I have a good program that seems to work at both Live and RNG roulette wheels .

I will let you know if and when my withdrawal gets back to my Debit Card .
Today after becoming qualified with my identification on May 23 I have received A$200 back in my bank account .
So their 2 day payout is not correct .

Usually when you withdraw first time after verification it takes longer but future withdrawals should be quicker, that's with most casinos :)

Hey all,

I live in Australia, but work alot of the time in NZ, Spin palace and Royal Vegas both know my situation, they have my id documents which are all Australian, and a statement from a local authority that i indeed work here 2-4 months of the year, SO of course i can deposit and withdraw as i see fit, last withdrawal was 3600$ last week, sometimes i forget that i'm remotly connected to a server in NZ and log into my account to have a spin and of course there is no issues, Deposits are made with a AU Mastercard, and money returned to a AU Visa card.

So if one to say use a VPN then connect to your preferred casino, i don't see one having any issues. I play daily, and have not once been questioned.

I thought I would put my two cents in. As someone who played slots online its a shame that the government has made the decision however to a certain extent its justified.
For a start online casino's make no contribution to assist those who live in Australia and have developed a gambling problem and require counselling etc. Casino's, pubs and clubs have to pay a set amount to assist those with a gambling problems.
Australian government is unable to assist with those who have been ripped off by rogue casino's
The government has placed restrictions on land based slots, ie limited spin amount to $5 or $10, opening hours, cannot use your credit card at a slot venue etc.
Online Casino's have no restrictions ie up to $500 a spin on some, credit card is preferred, slots are available 365 days 24x7
Online casino's pay no tax.
Aggressive marketing which lures the vulnerable and under aged.

Its certainly saving me a lot of money not having the slots online.

Good call slotsking, I did always understand that aspect of it all in my head and obviously any online avenue be it gambling, videos, shopping, social media all have social risks attached to them that cannot be protected by standard laws and norms of our societies at present so yes understandably there is a need to review and shake up the surrounding legislation. And while i think your post is excellent and valid, I still cant help but go "yeah but what about...?!?" (In defence of online gambling though..)

My perception of our Govt's decisions in any instance is that they continually seem to be a penalty focussed system that never seems to truly address the core root of the "problem" they purport to be solving... it is becoming a nanny state here on so many levels, its more about opressing, banning, criminalising, revenue raising, punishment, threats and ostracising, fearmongerig and disadvantaging those who participate in thsle acts or who might actuallyneed to seek support or such. Marijuana is a good example, alcohol packaging and fast foods, cigarettes, prescription pain meds, gambling and lotto, amazon or online shopping l, welfare & support services amongst other things..

And most of the time there is always a financial motive behind this Govts decisions-taxes n budgets erghh. Fast food? Tax it? Sugary alcoholic drink? Bought it off ebay? Tax it! So the argument for "if you can't tax it, ban it' i feel is most definitely a pretty accurate guess about some of these decisions.

I just literally though cannot get my head around the fact that there is a huge potential for them to actually have it both ways-tax it, oversee it, allow aussie punters the freedom of choice and maintain integrity for the people who choose to gamble via this method. Surely Packer would even be on board to add even more profit avenues to his mundane monopoly of casino exclusivity. There is one casino per capital city, some regional areas might have slots/pokie machines around but honestly they are godawful games with crap features, awful music, stupid button placement and difficult functionality. Online slots are by far superior more enticing, often have much lower minimum bets and are just more fun LBH. I would happily sign up to an Aus licensed site, join an aussie based online wallet or purchase prepaid vouchers from my local shopping centre, maybe even pay a small tax or subscription cost for the luxury if it meant i was free to play and use fun decent games in my own time, in my own house at my own accord rather than being forced to venture to the actual casino ugh. Just seems like theres potential for it to please both parties yet nothing is being done when as a few others mentioned in this thread, its like drugs or whatever. You can ban things all ya like but people will find a way and a blacl market will be created and this in turn can damage players even more with the riskier sites or dodgier payment methods and even pirated software.

Sorry to rant so much but i feel lile a litrle part of me is just super unimpressed with our ridiuclous govt for so many reasons right now that rereading this thread exacerbayed my anger even moreLOL!

AND I am keen to know if anyone has any suggestions or stanf out sites that they have since found or whatnot and how he journey is going for everyone cince its been a few months now, good sites, wins losses etc etc!!!

I mean its an old thread but it still relevant to me obvs being Aussie but also because I do find it interesting topic especially wit Govt motives and us poor players response, opinions and feedback since it all came crashing down for us right.. bloody govt LOL

Is it legal for the players to play at casinos that aren't licensed in Australia? I know the casino is breaking the law by offering services without a license, but are the players liable/at fault in any way too?

No players are not liable for playing at casinos but do be careful as to where you play at because there are a lot of rogue casinos out there and as an Australian you are not protected.

Please read previous posts in this thread or other threads concerning Aussie players. :)

If you have any questions please feel free to ask :)

Seriously??? $15,000?
Which game(s) were you playing and at what stakes?

KK

I did a couple grand on Jurassic giants around $5 a spin and then thought I'd just get a feature in big bad wolf and call it a night, usually that thing drops features fairly often but it just never came and I kept raising bet, most were $25.

By the time a feature arrived I was already $5000 down and it paid less than 7x so I just kept playing and praying it would correct but it never did..

Best result was a 40x feature, had a few just barely in double digits...

So that's around 900-1000 spins and not a single 50x or higher? even on a high variance slot the odds of that must be pretty low :(

That really sucks man :(

After posting here earlier I saw your other thread, and I have to say you're doing the right thing by packing in this malarkey.
If we don't see you on CM again - best of luck for the future.

As a general comment (not just about Australia) I wish most gamblers could come together and decide not to gamble anywhere until a reasonable legislation is discussed. I bet it wouldn't take more than a day before they start freaking out and in less than a week they will be begging us to come back and tell them what to do! ;)

Thank you again for accepting my post on this forum and know that I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I’ll vote for whoever will issue these licences

On another note can anyone suggest some good games to play on EMU casino I just played a few and lost my money in 10 mins too many exciting looking ones

I just joined that one but know some of the slots :)

I like Sakura, Wolf treasure, The golden Owl Athena, Diamond Wild, Da Vincis's Treasure, Eastern Emeralds :)

Have to try a few others yet.

A lot of us feel that way

Casino sites can't even apply for an Australian Casino licence as there is no licensing body to issue them!

The government in AU are truly backward

Voting is coming up so make the right choice ;)
Actually it was Tim Costello and his Anti Gambling group that got into the Governments ear to stop peoples' fun or pain with no thought of any consequences .
The Pro gambling society don't exist so there was no opposition .
I cannot see any proposals from the ( we'll increase the budget so the Liberals will have something to do in the next 7 - 10 years ) Labour Party to do anything to help those who want to gamble , do so .
And so say all of us ,for he's a jolly good fellow etc.......

Liberals do but it doesn't matter we have voting coming up and I can not keep up with the amount of times they change PM's lol

I do not like getting into politics nor do I understand it much but I do stand up for hard labour workers and fair work :)

Just a quick addendum here, the Liberal and National party coalition are currently in power, Liberals being the Conservative party and Nationals being a party for rural Australians, farmers and the like (however now seemingly being more the party for Mining.) The current opposition is our Labor party, a centrist/centre-left party. We have an election next month, with polls having Labor taking power more or less.

People always get confused when we say Liberal due to the Liberal party being our major conservative right party.

And that twat Xenophon trying to grab the moral high ground alongside Costello smfh

I do not know why the Labour Party is being crowned as the next Government because as far as I can tell the current Government is not paying attention to Global Warming - because the vast majority of people paying for electricity do not want to pay extra for Wind ,Solar or Wave Power but the majority do not jump up and down to get their message across .The Part time employees who are not being paid penalty rates - nothing to do with a Liberal/National decision but scooped up as one by The Labour Party . Wage increases have nothing to do with the Liberal/National Coalition but the biggest protesters against wage stagnation are highly paid building Union members who earn at least $100,000 more than I do on $48,000 after Tax .
The Labour party or ( I want to please everyone before the election) Bill Shorten has not mentioned anything to do with allowing anyone to do whatever they want with their money including allowing online Casinos to access Australia just to tie my argument into this forum in the nick of time . I am not a member of any Political Party and I will probably vote for either Derryn Hinch's party or Clive Palmer's United Australia party but first I have to see if anyone wants online Casinos back into Australia. Late addendum having just looked up the question about Gambling the Liberal Democrats say they have no wish to stop people from gambling in Australia so ...........

Good luck with the Mark Latham libertarian utopia, surely you don’t value being able to gamble on slots online above the public school system and the Medicare program? They have stated they would cease all government funding for health and education, privatising absolutely every single asset we have left from Australia Post through to the ABC. I’m all for some libertarian free market policies, but a cursory look at their statements leaves me thinking, hey maybe just playing at a Curaçao licence just ain’t that bad mate!

Hi guys,

Maybe I can't ask this here and being my. First post I might get banned but you seem to actually play online so can be trustworthy.

What casino do you actually play at that withdraws money to your account and isn't a scam.

So many I seem to look at on google look completely fake. Is emu casino trustworthy? There's a guy that plays on it on Fb streams and says he cashes out but would love an unbias opinion.

Thanks and sorry again if this is against the rules.

Will today's Australian election have any impact on the gambling industry, will a likely change in government change anything over there?
Not likely now looking at the current prediction... I was almost certain we’d have a new government in place by this time tonight but that’s not looking likely at all.
What I find most amusing, it’s all ok for Australians to bet on who’s going to win the election, that’s ethical and legal, and yet the government can still control what we can and can’t gamble on with our own money.. so you can get on politics but not on a random online poker machine. But hey, they can tax the companies allowing political betting so that’s AOK

Do you still do the £10 'assisted passage' for poms? If Corbyn ever gets in in the UK, there'll be queues at the ports...

Last time in the 1960's you got AC/DC out of it, this time you may get some decent slots. :D
