Anyone taking part in Movember?

Men only... Please!

Movember is a rapidly growing movement designed to improve awareness of mens health issues.
All you have to do to participate is grow a moustache during November.
www.movember.com

I've decided to have a go this year - just for the hell of it.
I did actually have a moustache for several years in my late 20's, but haven't sported one since. For a moderate donation to the charity, I'll post a picture on here!
So far I've grown a 4-day old "goatee" (referred to as a "circle" below), but haven't decided whether to stick with that of go for a different style. I was thinking of doing a CM poll, but I know you lot would vote for the Toothbrush (Adolf Hitler) style - just for a laugh. I'm NOT doing that one!

So, anyone else doing this? And any suggestions of which style to go for? (Bear in mind it's only for 1 month, so big ones are impossible!)

Cheers,
KK

We did it last year.
At work me and a group of colleague's took part in Movember campaign.
It was fun but I was glad I could take my moustache off at the end of the campaign.
Must see if I still have that picture we made on the end of the campaign.

We looked like bums not shaving for so long! :D

The Finance Director (CFO to American readers) at one of my clients is doing a reverse Movember. He has shaved his head, except for a patch at the back that has been lovingly shaped into a moustache. It looks very, very strange. I'll see if I can get a photo. He is raising tons of money though. The downside is that people keep pointing at him in the street and sniggering.

I told him that they did this anyway, but he didn't look very impressed ;)

I grew a beard once; it was quite ragged and unkempt but it was mine. If I remember rightly it housed Two Cuckoos, a Dove with a broken wing and Three Ravens.

I was okay with that but whenever I sat down at the park bench whilst feeding the ducks in my local area I was looked upon as unfortunate and passers-by would offer me money as if I was homeless.

Probably the thing that made me decide a beard was not right for me was when my mum passed by and then walked away only to return with a bar of soap, and shaving gel and a razor.

She said “I have a son of similar age to you, I’d hate to see him in the position you are in” :lolsign:

On the contrary, when we were hungry as kids, my mum would boil up a pan of water on the stove, get dad to shake his beard over it and lo and behold! a very nutritious soup was procured.

Dad's (Bird's) nest soup was always a killer I found, rather salty and difficult to filter the hairs that swam in the soup.

We took a vote many years ago (as a family) and proclaimed him a waste of resources, if memory serves me well he was dumped off in Leeds with £10, a toothbrush, a change of clothes and nowt much else.

He never met the wagering requirements, what can one do? :lolsign:

I am Chinese so of course I hope you will adopt the 'Fu Manchu' style. Your kids wont like it though.
My kids LOVE Chinese... but I suspect that's only because the nice lady in our local take-away always gives them a lolly-pop to suck while we're waiting for our order...

No offense mate, but a goatee (circle) does not count! It's just not ridiculous enough.

Movember rule 4 states:
4. There is to be no joining of the handlebars on your chin. That's considered a goatee.

I have been doing it for the last 6 Novembers or so, and I'm growing my regular "trucker" (or horse shoe).
