Anyone here do anything healthy?

I've started doing the weights again last couple of weeks(including leg day) Trying to replace sweets with fruit bars,fruit and vegetables. And take cbd capsules for my anxiety but they also help a lot in ridding me of colds. Additionally looking into swapping milk in my cereal for coconut milk and I drink alcohol much less one blow out a month and the rest of the time very few bevys..
 
How's it going @KasinoKing and everyone else? @LadyJelena still dancing in front of mirrors? :D @Casinomeister you still prancercising in the woods? @dunover you still bike riding and metal detecting? @geordiecolin still gardening? @Steviedoo are you still off sugar? I have been doing alot of research on how bad sugar is and you may as well be injecting yourself with poison when you eat it WutFace @goatwack did you increase your gym presence?
Last January I posted that I was going to the gym 3-4 times per week.
Unfortunately that has slipped to only 1 or 2 times per week - mainly just because I always seem to be too busy with work.
I will be going tonight (I prefer late evenings as it's quieter), but I do need to increase exercise & reduce booze & food as my weight is still the same as a year ago :(
Getting on a bit now and finding work just too darned difficult to get anywhere, so thinking about retiring so I can concentrate more on healthy living and enjoying life more...

@BillyBonanza Hahaha, yes and not only in front of mirrors, I regularly go to dance classes and we're preparing some cool choreography. Maybe I'll add some tango classes or other dance too :)

I had a three week work out in the desert last month - that's my exercise of choice - bustin' ass with landscaping. :p

But this year, I'm going to try and cut down on the meat consumption - especially anything processed. I did the pescatarian thing for about a year and a half, then mixed that with only eating wild game, but have ventured further into the meat eating realm since then.

The first few weeks of no meat, I felt more active and lost 2-3 kilos. My main source of protein was fish, lentils, and tofu (I love tofu). I should do this again but...I love those Schnitzels and Bratwursts :p
 
been veggie here over 25 years - im 48 and still get pegged often as around 26
i can only guess its the diet cuz ive norty habits :p

@geordiecolin Yep Kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, ginger root, lemon, apple, celery and cucumber. It gets put into a juicer and I drink it. Again, you think it would taste terrible but the lemon and apple take away the bitterness or anything else.

I tried doing organic carrot juice and jfc it was horrible tasting. Not to mention after doing research it's full of sugar. I did it once and never again it tasted so bad. I was pretty pumped to get right into all kinds of juicing until all the research I did told me to stay away from doing fruits because of the insane amount of sugar when juicing. So I have just stuck to my one drink.

Not a health freak yet cause I still drink beer sometimes and eat some chips, fries and those kinds of things once a week or so. Im just trying to incorporate alot of vitamins and minerals into my diet too. Lose some weight and I was always into martial arts of some sort so that is just something I enjoy. I hit the treadmill a few times a week but again I enjoy listening to music and working out. It's alot easier when you like stuff like that.

@Casinomeister Nice pictures. Nothing like feeling the pleasure when you finish a project and can look at it and say I did that shit through my own sweat and back breaking. What happens if you run out of cream for your coffee? I guess you dont drink it til next time since it looks like the drive to the nearest store might be 532 miles :laugh:

I have never cut out meat or went veggie completely. But it is good to hear when people say they will cut down on processed foods its so bloody bad for you anyways, same with refined sugars.

My garden is the staple to my home in the summer and fall. We eat out of it every single day and its completely organic so it for sure gives our bodies a break from constant garbage and chemicals and other stuff from grocery store foods. We still eat from the grocery store but not nearly as much

What a great thread! It's nice to see such a variety of interests. I have played sport and been in some sort of club since my childhood. This all stopped around 3 years ago following a split from my ex, moving out of the home, hitting depression and losing my job. I've noticed a massive difference in my health and wellbeing since not exercisiing and an earlier post said about smiling and laughter is the healthiest thing - so true! A few years ago I was a handsome man now I look like Yoda! Always fancied the juicer thing and love a bit of healthy eating and think I'm going to do that family Capoeira class I've been putting off this Sunday with the kids. Thankyou for the morning inspration!

One thing any psychiatrist will tell you is to work out, eat healthy or find an active hobbie if battling any type of depression.

The thread is mostly about maintaining the good health by losing weight. Well im at the other side of the spectrum, eating fast food like mad, steaks, lots of sweets and fruits and i really miss some kilos! Im actually frustrated that i cant get some overall body fat, i have to wear L tshirts to hide that :( thats because of the fast pace environment at work and being stessed by the life itself, like i cant read international/local news without boiling the blood in the head on issues which are crystal clear and needed worldwide action against like israel unacceptable behavior on a myriad of matters so turning off the internet and the reality and losing myself in a good game has helped me. Thats how people start then deepen in drugs and alcohol, those that dont have the money to just travel and escape the routine and the nasty reality of life seen with sober eyes in our picky civilization built on social constructs. In some cases barbarism should be dealt with barbarism, not with the useless organization that is united nations making appeals for calm since their inception, thats how injustice starts, being civilized with the barbar and trying to educate him not taking in consideration that the barbar is pure evil by choice and so needs to be wiped. What this post has turned to? Speaking my mind cryptically so the report-batallion will stay defused, its mostly bullshit anyway for the lack of sentences and poor grammar. A dozen more posts and ill turn to meister member i guess?!
