Hi!
I have a friend that often comes to my house, or I go to her house. We have been playing poker and I sometimes use my account at her house and vice-versa, same with sportsbooks.... My question is: do online casinos track where you are when you are playing downloaded games? I don't want to get into any trouble, or lose a bonus if the casinos think that it is me that is playing two accounts....
I hope this makes sense, it's late and I should be sleeping!
:)

** hey there. as far as i could find out, there should not be a problem with this, giving that your account (and hers) was opened on seperate ocasions from seperate computers and you do not SHARE the same household (adress, tel number etc) looking at it from another point (and proving how redicilous it could be should anyone try to tell you it is not permitted) - many pple make use of internet cafe's to play online. in the event that I play on a computer where (by chance) another person play too... but we don't even know each other.. how can i be held responsible for this? I think the only problem comes in when accusations are made of 'someone else used my account' and the investigating parties find that you have oftern 'shared' a computer, in which case it is YOUR repsonsibility to keep your info 'secret'. having said all of that, it is better NOT to do that, because should you end up in a dispute with the casino (or your friend for that matter) it could get sticky!just my opinion **

My Girlfriend plays on my PC when shes over (and I play on hers when I visit her) and even my mum  has a punt now and then!

When im at my mates on a weekend I play on his PC too.

I wouldnt think the casinos/pokerrooms would mind. They can always ask for ID if they think something funny is going on.

Hopefully a Casino/Pokerroom rep will give their view on this as you got me worried now Grandmaster.

This is from Casino on Net T&C's:

(iii) At all times, you may only have one account, for which you will register using your own, correct name. You may not access the Software / or use the Service by means of another person's account. Should you attempt to open more than one account, under your own name or under any other name, or should you attempt to use the Service by means of any other person's account, we will be entitled to immediately close all your accounts and bar you from future use of the Service.

Sounds like it could be an issue....

All depends on what they mean by "account." If they're referring to IP address or MAC ID (I think that's what it called), it definitely might be an issue.

If they only mean you can't play under your friend's login name and password, it wouldn't apply (obviously).

If you play on someone else's computer using their account, that's against the T&C at most places, but the casino is not going to find out. But if several different accounts are used from the same computer, that can lead to big trouble.

I signed up all my casinos/pokerrooms on my PC. My girlfriend signed up all hers (mostly the same 20 or so sites) on her PC and my mum signed up on her laptop :D

What I mean is that I sometimes log in to MY accounts on my Girlfriends pc, and she sometimes logs in to HER accounts on my PC. I really dont see any probs with that but you never know with online casinos/pokerrooms.

Casino reps please re-assure me :D

Hi Guys,

At VPL casinos (the only ones I can speak for...), there is not really a set rule for this. It is mostly handled on a case by case basis by our Risk department.

I can't really go in too deep here, as discussing the details etc. would certainly open us up for abuse. (Not saying anybody here is an abuser, but you never know who lurks these boards.)

What I can say though, is if you would like to spare yourself some unnecessary headaches (sending ID, emails back and forth etc.), try to avoid playing on someone else's PC if at all possible.

Regards
VPL

If you use your own account, that is not against the T&C's. The problem, I believe, would come from withdrawing your winnings from a different IP address. That is when the casino would become suspicious and ask for all kinds of IDs.

Personally, I would contact the rep before playing on a different pc to let them know in advance that I'd be using 2 different IPs on the same account.

Using two different accounts on the same computers is against the T&C and could be a problem. Most people have dynamic IP, so playing from a different IP address should not be a problem.

I think that:

You wont have any problems if you loose big;

You will have big problems if you win big.

dreamer no matter, how innocently you dress up your questions, it is quite obvious that you are a bonus abusers, all your posts seem to be about bonuses, getting round bonus T+C's, multiple accounts,i hope when that when you finally encounter a problem and you come to casino meister for help, he tells you were to go.

I think its a legitimate question in general though.

My personal play is poker 90% of the time non-bonus related. I wouldnt want to get my accounts locked for playing on my account just because its at my mates. (Eg tonight im with my daughter like most fridays and I use her mums PC all evening, im even posting this from her PC :D )

Normally after my daughter goes to bed I will log on to play some poker for a few hours. If its the first week of the month there will be some bonus earned normally but other than that its just because I enjoy playing poker. (And hopefully winning a bit)

I cant see how this would be a problem. I have no problems if a casino wants my ID etc.

Im sure loads of players find themselves playing on different PCs from time to time. And by stopping them it would cost them a bundle. My rake bill monthly is over $1000 and that would halve if I was restricted to my PC only.

nafanny i'm sure that most of the casinos/pokerrooms dont have a problem with you playing on a different PC, however the originater on this thread is wanting to know if he play on another PC which already has an account holder at the same casino, i.e. in otherwords he is wanting to know what there is there to stop him from opening up more than one account on the same computer so he can claim multiple bonuses.

As casino rep I too would say DO NOT use another computer before first letting the casino know ahead of time. This comes up a lot when people have a lap top or also play at home and work. The serious problem here is when both parties play the same bonus offer and both cash out at relativley the same time and the casino runs a check on the accounts and find they came from the same computer. Remember you may have been doing this for months with out the casino saying anything, but remember that the casino usually only runs the checks after a cash out has been requested. If this is the case of any one at my casino just e-mail me here.
Good Luck

OK, its simple really. If you are gonna try and cheat the casino/pokerroom out of 2 or more bonuses with multiple accounts then its a no no. If you are a genuine player (aka ME :D ) its not an issue.

Say no more

ahh!!!, the old virtual trick of not saying anything while the money is going in, but then the any old excuse when its a withdrawal.

ted, to be honest on this one if i was a casino operator, and someone has used the same computer to claim two sign-up bonuses, regardless of whether it is a genuine different account holder, i would close the 2nd account down, return them the deposit and let them know why, if no bonuses are involved them as far as i would be concerned, the more the merrier who played on whichever computer it is.

scrollock,
Two things 1. If a player is not using a bonus I could really care less how many accounts or computers they are using. In this case money plays. 2. The problem with checking every player who signs up for multiple accounts takes from 5 to 20 minutes depending on how many other accounts share the same characteristics. When you have upwords of 50 new depositers a day, the time element just becomes to much.
Question for you though, how many % of the players who signed up with two computers and took two sign up bonuses, do you really think did this by mistake and how many were bonus hunting? So returning there deposit when they are knowingly breaking the rules would only incourage them to continue doing this with no harm.

All of them if they'd been entrapped by virtual into thinking they were playing at two different casinos and applying for two completely different sign-up bonuses. Especially if they'd checked the terms and conditions of each casino and seen nothing preventing them claiming a bonus from the other one. I refer you to the following website which is step one in this scam:

Old / Expired Link

So returning there deposit when they are knowingly breaking the rules would only incourage them to continue doing this with no harm.

Well that's what all reputable groups currently do, but I agree it's much more profitable for the casino to award the bonus, so that the player has the chance to lose the deposit, and if he wins anything you can always refuse to pay him anyway. Right ted ;)

I think that if they are going to abuse the bonus, they can't cash out anyway because they need ID to do so....
so what's the problem???
