Angelciti (RTG) steal thousands of dollars of players' winnings.

They're actually claiming that the software is rigged for the PLAYER'S benefit?? HAHAHAHA! That's a good one! If its true, I think it'd be a first in the industry. The bigger question would be, what benefit would that be to RTG?? :wtf:

Well, as it looks right now, I have a feeling this will be settled in the next several days in the player's favor.

This player was EXTREMELY lucky, but even so (and even more so) she deserves to be paid. Everyone seems to agree on this except the operators of the casino, which is very unfortunate since this could have been a publicity fest.

Negotiations are still under way...

Whilst I am genuinely happy for the big winner if they do resolve this case, this move reeks of damage control and self interest.

AC are probably feeling the wrath of the player community in terms they can understand - their pockets.

This big winner has been screwed around for almost eight months, then they blame the software but suddenly realize that one is not going to work so they settle the case as a cheaper option to dealing with the many other players affected by their crazy promo decisions.

When are they going to settle up in full with the players they screwed on the promo?

This gets tackier and tackier as it develops.

These cases are a good test of RTG's claim to be concerned about player treatment by their licensees - if ever there was a case for turnkey provider action against a licensee then AC has to be it.

Ah, so George no longer considers RTG software to be "rigged in favour of the player"?

I wonder what changed his mind?

Well, I'm not sure what George is thinking since he rarely responds to emails. I guess it's not worth it to him.

Honestly, I feel that he doesn't want to pay the player no matter what. I sense a company taking a spiral spinning nosedive into a .com wasteland.

By the way, this from the Wizard yesterday:

I was just roaming about your site and thought I'd comment on the Angelciti write up. To answer the question raised by the CEO, "It strains the odds and belief that a person could get that many Royal Flushes in such a short period of time." The probability exactly 3 royals in 7591 hands is about 1 in 6400, give or take depending on the exact mix of the two games and player strategy. I'm sure they would not appreciate being called cheaters if a player had a 1 in 6400 bad luck. I get such reports frequently and would not consider that to rise to the level to make a solid case of cheating.

Thanks wiz!

Is that right? I thought the odds of getting one was something on the order of 1 in 40,000

Legalities of Angelciti passing on players contact info to a firm selling shares in Angelciti on behalf of Angelciti..
Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge of please?

jpm -- the odds you cite are the approximate odds of getting a royal flush *on any single hand* (depending somewhat upon the strategy the player uses).

The probability of getting at least one royal flush in 7591 hands, however, is .173. Most of that 17% chance, of course, is getting a single royal flush across that span (.157). But over that many hands, multiple royal flushes aren't so unlikely.

Cheers,

CC

On April 4th Bryan said "I have a feeling that this player will be paid within the next few days."

A few days and then some have passed. Presumably Michael Staw "instsited" that George The Gutter Man paid up, with some consequences attached to non-compliance - and he is still dragging his heels or simply refusing.

Bryan, what did you base that statement on, if one may ask? Direct word from RTG? Did they make it clear that they required that he pay up? If so, it seems extraordinary that he's allowed to maintain his RTG license. He's blatantly ignoring his bosses' instructions.

(Worth noting that this is NOT the original matter of this thread, although it's closely related.)

Hi Caruso,

This was based on conversations with people at RTG. And as it looks like right now, she will be paid by Angelciti. I would say, go ahead and chill the Champagne.

There is conclusive evidence that a check has been sent to the $28,000 winner.

Drum roll please.....

We await its delivery...the opening of the envelope....the acknowledgemnt of the amount....and will it clear?

We shall see...

That's good.

Their dept to players is now down to about $20,000. Who's next in the queue?

Oh, and by the way - they're still entertaining the possibility that that the girl is some sort of a hacker, but they paid her (I suppose) in "good" faith". That's according to the UK brokers I spoke to recently who are pimping...sorry, pumping, the stock. Investigations into software error possibility are apparently ongoing.

I'll keep the champagne on ice for the time being.

Probably selling off some of those millions of outstanding shares to raise the cash! I don't see them redeemed until such time as they address the wrongful disqualifications that hit Caruso and others some months back.

And it will take them awhile to recover the ground lost by this woefully dishonest conduct toward their players.

This just in from Karen:

The saga is over. I received the Check!!! $28,555 handwritten, in Spanish, from the Bank of Costa Rica...but who cares? As long as it clears. And I have only you to thank for it! You are like one of my all time favorite people and I will never even meet you. Oh well, as soon as the check clears I will visit your Wish List and fulfill a few of your desires. Would you please thank Caruso for his moral support? I know he has an interest in the whole Angelciti fiasco but everytime he posts in that thread, he asks you about my situation and I feel like he's my buddy! I would thank him myself but I still feel "posting shy" (and me with a BA in Creative Writing, no less).
Bryan, what can I say? You totally ROCK!!!

That's great Bryan. Congratulations - I have a feeling you need to add new items to your wishlist after she visited it :D

What do you mean by "another one bites the dust"?

"another one bites the dust" is an old Queen song. When I was in the army, and we would complete a mission, we would all sing "And another one bites the dust..."

Just a way of saying that a major obstacle has been breached... (combat engineer terminology)

Well done, Bryan - a major recovery indeed and I'm sure everyone is glad that Karen's nine month wait is successfully concluded.

Perhaps Karen will let us know when the money is safely in her bank account - rubber checks would not surprise me with these folks!

Now we need to keep the pressure on to look after Caruso and co.

Well now that she's come down from her high, she's written the following:

Anyway, I went to the bank after work and now begins the new
saga of "cashing the check". Since it is handwritten in Spanish, is coming
from a foreign bank, has no routing number and does not designate US
Dollars...

It seems that they have sent this check to her in spite. What an unbelievable way to end this saga. Angelciti's conduct is inexcusable and totally unprofessional. I believe she will be able to find a partner bank in her vincinity, but what total bullshit.

What does this mean? Doesn't it say USD somewhere?

They probably sent her 28,555 colons... :mg:
