Allow the U.S. access to Vegas casinos who are locked and loaded to
launch online. Most of these casinos in Vegas have completed what is needed
to go online and they even have casino rep junkets on standby to fully move
forward.

What the fudge is taking so damn long? We don't NEED to drive hours away
to play a progressive Wheel of Fortune slot when we have the technology
to play it while we sip coffee in our pajamas in the morning in the comfort of our homes.

ALSO, What is it about GAMBLING that makes it such a taboo subject? Seriously.
All one is doing is taking a GREEN PIECE OF PAPER with a dead president on it which is
usually rendered for goods and services.. Some people roll this piece of paper up into a cone
and snort cocaine through it. The point is, some people stuff it in a machine for their ENTERTAINMENT value.
Who gives a shit. What's sacred about the bill? The mug shot of the dead president? the Pyramid with
the eye on the back of a dollar bill? Why the hell is it so taboo?

I would like to hear some educated opinions as to WHY the U.S. is sitting like a bunch of
ducks not doing a damn thing.

Take tax out of my winnings, I really don't give a damn... But if I have to be subjected to
one more RTG slot, I think I might lose my mind!

Entirely Political in two parts.

1.) They want to stop the abuse of rogue casino's that rip of players.
2.) Biggest issue-They dont get money from our winnings, they want their cut yet dont do shit.

Actually IMO,

1.) They, (the Government) cares none about THE PLAYER getting ripped off by the rogue casinos.
In reality they are getting ripped off by the rogue casino for ripping the player off without giving
a cut to the government in the process.

2.) That's the point of the thread... The government is ABLE to take their cut from the Vegas casinos
who are ready to launch online. Think of these casinos as "accredited" but only in the government's
eyes.

if there are such a thing as a honest politician I M O he /she is worried about the mass addiction of gambling / the way more
easy for the money to leave the existing and newly introduced players that really cant afford it [ there might be one or two
of them, plus im betting that's there crusade call like it will add to welfare after the silly players loose .

#2
my best take on this is that there all like a bunch of street corner gangsters so friggin high on how much money they can
graft for them selves ,that there like a nervous virgin not knowing exactly how to organize it fearing that it will start a turf war amongst them selves witch I believe will happen they /the government will take a giant step towards the direction of the last days of the roman empire

what I see from here RC

I am fed up too, with having limited casinos to play but if USA becomes regulated , then the Government would surely have to know the rogues from the accredited? If the US is to regulated?

I am so fed up I'm all for regulation already...I want the freedom to play..

I think this, and the majority of our other problems here, are the result of career politicians and lobbyists. Whichever group has the most money to donate (bribe) the lawmakers of the USA will get its way. For the people who desire to have the right to play whenever, wherever they want to they will have to organize, raise funds and endeavor to elect officials who feel the same way. The middle class is probably the group that would like to play on-line the most and the middle class is the largest group that has no representation in Congress. Wealthy individuals and corporations are well represented and there are advocates for the poor. All our representatives are either career politicians or former corporate lawyers, we need cashiers, house painters, mechanics, farmers and people from all walks of life, then you will see legislation that has a positive effect for the middle class. We have strayed far from the ideals laid out in the Constitution, our forefathers never intended politics to be a lifelong career for anyone.

The US Government, thought that online casinos were they way US citizens were funding terrorist over seas. That was the original reason given for wanting the ban. But, in all reality, the US Government, had no way of tracking the money, and wants a piece of the action. With the financial crisis this country is in THEY NEED ANY EXTRA MONEY THEY CAN GET THIER HANDS ON!!! So IMOP, it would be wise for the idiots in Washington to get their head out of their asses and figure out a way to tap into this avenue of revenue. But the morons in Washington are so freakin' stuck on themselves they have no idea.

Sure we elect them, but when you are told lies after lies, we have to chose the best liar. I was once on flight with Dan Maffei (think that is how you spell his name) he asked me what I thought about our government, my exact words.."They are all liars and don't give a damn about the people, because if they did, we wouldn't be in the state we are today. They are greedy bastards and the banking debacle proves it. Now you tell me what you think of your co-workers, but remember, I already know your full of shit, your eyes are brown!" He was in office then, and you know what, he didn't say another word after I was done.

When the bill was signed into law by good ol' George Bush, 3 days later, a very well respected Doctor here in Central NY was arrested for (get this) FUNDING TERRORIST GROUPS OVER SEAS. Now we don't have bans on going to the doctors now do we? Albeit, it now costs an arm and a leg to go to the doctors, but whether is it gambling on line or a doctor, if US citizens are going to fund terrorist activities, they are going to do it no matter what.

When the government can establish away to monitor how much money players are getting in withdrawals and can find a way to make sure they get their fair share of taxes on it, it will be legal to play on line again. But by stalling, they are creating a way to get more taxes, ie people having to fly to get to Las Vegas, or Atlantic City or any gambling destination. The taxes on airline tickets is outrageous, and now when you get a "free room" it is not free any more. You have to pay a light tax, I saw on one bill where I had to pay a water tax. So the casinos are getting taxed on everything which in turn, they pass on the patrons who want to stay there. People are looking for ways to get out of America.

My hubby's job is global, and we are looking to get out too. He can retire, he has been employed by the same company 25 years now, and when we can find some where to go where we feel safe, and it is a good environment for our daughter we will leave this country too.

I get it bigjohn.. However, I know of at least four heavy hitting millionaires who go to the local Indian ran casinos and dump thousands into the high roller room's slots and mostly the table games.

These same people have a hand in Florida's politics. My point is, yes for the most part there are lots of middle class and poor gamblers but there are plenty of rich gamblers too. Poker, blackjack and roulette seems to be for the most popular amongst the wealthy man and woman's games of choice. The middle class and poor man and woman's game of choice usually is slots. Maybe they're mathematically slow or the fact that slots offer a very low bet requirement or a mixture of both, where table games have a minium which is usually $5 or $10 bucks.

Highly well put LHofsdal! My wife and I are considering Vancouver. We're also wanting to exit this draconian government ran country.

It is sad X-Raided, the once "Land Of The Free" is now "The Land of Corrupt government, and Taxes". I just read the article that someone posted about HSBC bank. What a bunch of shit, if that were me I would be in prison.

Gotta love this one, only in America can a bank admit funding the drug cartels in Mexico and get away with it.

There's a bill ready to be signed sitting on Chris Christies desk to allow all forms on online gambling within N.J..

Drop him a note showing your support, if he signs the bill I can assure you it will spread to other states.

WOW, i had not following this thread for a bit and came back to the varying opinions of what is happening. I just want to say that each of you are right in certain aspects of this depending on what state you are in and who the representatives are from your state. The one thing i think we all universally agree on is money and as usually about the greed of our governemnt which is a shame.

When i first started my organizations, i swore i would never get involved in politics, after the government took away disabled students Pell Grants, my organization got fully involved to restore themand sometimes i just want to beat my head against a wall because its like talking to a wall with ten inch sheets of steel in between. I could not believe some of the letters that were flying around from republicans and comittee's and this is not to bash republicans but some of their letters within committee's were outright insane.

OOOH? What article I have a credit card through them, though a low amount one i rarely use after they refused to increase my credit limit even though I pay off the balance every month.

Come over here LH.

We have lots of american ex-pats here who don't even like going back for holidays!

Seriously, you can walk the streets at night, and your kids are safe playing in the street, and the houses are cheap compared to your country.

Plus....I live here! What more do you need??? :D

I have been there, went for 3 weeks about 7 years ago doing the trek through the outback. Was having a fabulous time until one of the HUGE spiders landed in my hair. I hate spiders, then the tour guide says it is illegal to kill them. This thing was freakin' huge! I will have to look for the picture I have of another one that is sitting in its web and is bigger than my Vogue magazine.

I won't lie, we have thought about going there, we both really liked it there. In October, we are thinking of going there for 2 weeks with our daughter, so she can see how beautiful it is. You never know Nifty, we could be neighbors ;).

Well, thankfully the outback is not the same as the urban areas, and really only exists in the Northern and Western states. In the south, we still have spiders, but they are easily controlled with outdoor spraying around the home limits. I've never heard of it being illegal to kill spiders.....if it is, I may as well hand myself in! I think the guide may have been having a lend of you LH.

If you do come over in October, and are coming to Victoria, let me know and I'll meet you for a coffee....I might even pay ;) The casino in Melbourne (Crown) is nice.

Honestly, don't let the wildlife turn you off. It's really no big deal at all, especially if you live closer to the cities. The worst thing is actually the mosquitos (mozzies) in summer at night time, but aeroguard will keep you relatively itchy-bite free.

I have to ask where you live

Yup I'm in Aussieland.

Tax-free gambling here too....well personal income tax anyway. The governments take comes out of the RTP of the games, so they generally pay about 86-90% (higher at the casinos) to provide a profit for everyone involved (except the player of course), but if you win $1 million you get to keep every cent. Same with the lotteries.
