Hello dear Affiliates :)

Following the recent changes in Google Algorithms, and noticing that Penguin is indeed doing it's job and having a huge impact on search engine positions, I would like to know: would affiliates now be interested in Casino operators providing fresh content for them and working closer together in order to still stay on the top of the game (and the top of the google pages ;).

In other words - at Grosvenor Casino we had a chat with our SEO guys and discussed possibility of requesting unique, fresh content on regular basis and forwarding it to our partners. Would this be potentially interesting for affiliates? What are the risks? What are the benefits?

Let me know what you think and this might actually be coming to life soon if affiliates are of the same opinion - that this will be mutually beneficial.

Cheers,
Jelena

If you mean providing each affiliate with their own unique articles, then this would probably be attractive to a lot of people! On the other hand if you're talking about providing the same article to all, then it will have little benefit from an SEO perspective.

Hi baldidiot!

Thanks for your reply, in fact we were considering working closely with a number of selected affiliates (those who show the most interest) and provide them with unique articles. :)

I almost voted "What's a penguin?" :p

Actually - I REALLY don't know - and I don't care!
Sometimes I think webmasters get too caught up in SEO instead of just getting on with making a good site.
I admit I'm an "SEO thickie" and have not made any serious attempt to improve my SERPs.
I just take what I get.

For example, Google "5c Roulette" and see what's No.1...
(After the 3 Sponsored ads)
Pure luck! ;)

KK, not bad, first position :D Well, yes, it's funny how SERPs are still a mystery, when companies have whole departments working full time on these. )) Still, the way I see it it's a win-win-win. Just wanted to know your opinions, so keep them coming ;)

Hi Jelena,

I would definitely be interested and my opinion is that many affiliates would be interested in this kind of co-operation. Furthermore, it's a win-win situation for both affiliates & operator. Operator would be getting higher exposure and affiliates would benefit from fresh&unique content on regular basis, which certainly saves money/time for them.

Feel free to contact me via PM and we can discuss it in details.

Alex

Thanks for the reply ultra100, I will definitely get in touch next week to discuss it in more details and when we already will request a few articles to start with. ;)

I tend to agree with KK on this.
We're all active in a highly competitive industry, with many thousands of websites, all trying to get on page #1. The problem is that there are only 10 slots available and over 95% of the people don't bother to look at page 2 and up.

I therefore focus on working on good AdWords and AdCenter campaigns. It's not free, but it definitely preserves me from having sleepless nights due to another algorythm update.

Just my 2 cents though :)

This is 100% true, and the Adwords campaigns might be a good shortcut to the traffic generation. Yet would be interesting to see if this little project would have an effect, as in theory it should bring some results. :)

Hi Jelena,

Personally I wouldn't be interested. There are two types of review: a factual one and an opinionated one. I prefer to read opinionated reviews and have been working more towards providing that for some time. I think an overview of a game will bore most players to death - if they haven't played it they want a couple of basics and then they want opinion. They also want to know if a game is rubbish or where a casino doesn't deliver what they want - that can only come from someone who's played it.

From an SEO perspective I see the reasoning but again, over time reviews that don't capture the reader's attention will reflect badly on the website (to Google and other search engines as well as humans) - higher bounce rates, less "time on page", less "likes" and recommendations and if ever a manual reviewer popped their heads round the door, IMO they'd be likely to factor in "honesty", especially in a niche where every casino is "amazing", "delivers the ultimate gaming experience" and is without doubt "the best choice" and every game "captures your imagination", has "incredible 3D graphics", "transports you to a mediieval world full of riches and wealth" and guarantees an orgasm every 30 seconds :D

I didn't vote "No" (but would have) because the reason is wrong ("it's too much work"). In fact it's quite the opposite my way - it's a lot, lot more. It's also a lot, lot more fun doing the reviews. ;)

Cheers,

Simmo!

Totally agree with you Simmo - I'd never take a review from an operator.

But there are plenty of journalist-style articles that an operator could provide that would benefit a site. Eg: an article about Don Johnsons run at atlantic city, a guide to the biggest horse races or the strangest bets ever placed.

That's the kind of thing I was thinking of - interesting, entertaining, factual and shareable content.

Hi guys,

In regards with content - the intention for sure is to provide readable material, not some keyword document that will be of no use for readers. Will have a discussion about this with SEO guys and see if we can bring this small project to life.

Cheers,
Jelena
