Notice of Termination of the Sky Betting and Gaming Affiliate Programme

We are writing to inform you of our intention to terminate the Sky Betting and Gaming UK Affiliate Programme (the ?Programme?) and the agreement entered into between you and Bonne Terre Limited in relation to the Programme (the ?Agreement?).

As you will be aware, the regulatory landscape in which the industry operates is developing and maturing and operators are experiencing increased obligations regarding their regulatory responsibilities and level of compliance. In order to continue to operate in a compliant manner, we feel that operating the Programme is no longer viable and that managing the output of affiliates presents a significant risk to our business from a regulatory perspective. It is for this reason that we have chosen to terminate the Programme.

Clause 13.2 of the Agreement allows us to terminate the Agreement immediately on providing written notice; however, we have chosen to give you 28 days? notice of termination of the Programme. Therefore, the Agreement will terminate on 2 October 2017.

In accordance with Clause 13.5 of the Agreement, from 2 October 2017 you must: (1) cease all promotion of our websites and remove all live links to our websites or associated intellectual property; and (2) return all confidential information that you hold relating to Sky Betting and Gaming.

Please be advised that the Affiliate Hub portal, located at affiliatehub.skybet.com, will cease to be available from 2 October 2017 and all commission arrangements for all players will end at this point.

For record keeping purposes, we advise you to download any reports or invoices you require from the portal before 2 October 2017. Should there be any issues with your reports or invoices, please contact us using the details below.

The Programme's final payment cycle will then begin at the end of September and outstanding balances will be paid in full. Payments should arrive in accounts on or around 20 October 2017 as per the normal process. To ensure the process runs smoothly, please check your payment details are up to date with all your banking information. Please note, the Programme does not offer payments via Skrill or Neteller, so if you have not updated your details recently, you must do so with your bank account information as soon as possible in order to receive payment. Failure to do so may cause delays.

Yep, nice doin' business with you...NOT.

So revenue for the 'lifetime of the player' turned out to be er, not quite a lifetime?

They were already rogued for applying predatory retroactive terms on affiliates some time ago. A real crappy affiliate program. Good to see them go bust. Schadenfreude.

Unfortunately they are not bust, but after the hammering they got following the changes they made a while back, I think there is not a lot left to work with. There is stuff in the email about regulatory changes, but that seems a bit spurious to me.

The sad thing is that some affiliates are very reliant on the money they earn from sky, so this will be a big blow for them. Having seen the thread going on over at GPWA, it appears some will be badly affected.

I had kept them on my main site as from a player perspective they were good, plus I never had done much with them. But this is a real kick in the teeth.

Just received an email notification from EGR Intel, on there they have poll running whether this will be the start of other UK Based Operators following Affiliate Hub's lead. I sincerely hope not.

Really wish I had gone to that meeting in London today now.

Basically they are using it as an excuse not to pay affiliates henceforth on the (maybe valid?) grounds that they cannot trust their affiliates to behave in accordance within UKGC and ASA edicts, but to be fair with the recent disgusting Casino Rewards marketing especially on antisocial media (whatever happened to that affair, thought they may get action on here?) plus the farcical Casumo nutjobs they have good cause to be wary of letting affiliates tarnish their brand.

This is why casinos need to keep a better eye on where their traffic originates, and be brave enough to shut down accounts even if it will cost them sign-ups, if the affiliate is behaving like a twat.

This what happens when wankers place their BS stories and ads on antisocial media and other places, the casino will ultimately get sanctioned and further down the line the decent affiliates will be punished by actions like Sky have taken.

Well hopefully the Sky Vegas team will have a MASSIVE party with all the money they've stolen from their affiliates

They stole about £5,000 from me in the last 2 years, by suddenly reducing my RS from 25% to 5% without so much as a by your leave...
I hope some of the "big boys" are able to sue their sorry asses over this despicable behaviour.

I did wonder why my August commission figure was given as £0, even though Sky made £1,581 net profit from the players I sent them.
I guess they're going to steal that from me too :(

I don't think that is the case since there are scores of casinos licensed by the UKGC that never have issues. 32Red, Trada Casino, Video Slots, Slotsmillion, Betat, etc.

Yes, I know, what I meant was that IF any hitherto decent casino/affy programme decided to close down then the actions of other affiliates (not necessary representing their casino) would, in their eyes, give them just cause along the lines of Sky's excuse.

yeah great, I'm going to lose £600-900 a month, really good to see them gone, especially as they haven't gone bust, they are just stealing the money and keeping it

Its a BS excuse. Sky are one of the few companies who are pretty strict on their affiliates (except a few big ones, footieaccums I'm looking at you here), its extremely rare I get any spam from any of their affiliates, and whenever I have and I've reported it, they have closed the accounts within minutes, and (more importantly) have made the links go dead so they don't benefit from spam signups.

For them to use affiliates behaviour as an excuse is pathetic. They have a massive market share now and have decided that they don't need to pay affiliates when they have mass television campaigns ongoing, so fuck all the smaller guys.

The amount involved is enough for me to get off my arse and take them to court, so thats what I'll be doing. The contract term they are relying on is most likely unfair, and lifetime revenue does not mean, lifetime, until we cba to pay you any more.

I've also reported skybet to the UKGC as the company who holds their gaming license doesn't exist any more.

This doesn't read well for Sports Betting Affiliates -

Anyone got a contact at the Guardian? Might be worth a shot. Seems like the big boys are using this story as a smoke screen for a premeditated money grab from affiliates.

The Guardian is on a crusade and nothing will stop them so I am suggesting that you're wasting your time.

Just currently perusing their Gambling Section. I see what you mean, but then again they also raise some very salient points.

They indeed do raise some valid points but the underlying message is pretty clear. If they had it their way, there would be no gambling in the UK.

I read their online edition long enough to smell an agenda from miles away.

Well I just sent my first complaint to the ASA today about these. No idea how they are at acting, but the evidence is pretty damming, numerous adverts on a massive site, not a single one close to being compliant.

Hopefully they get a massive fine and shut down.....bastards

Heard from the ASA the other day, they believe the complaint to be valid and it is now an official investigation.
What is likely is that if they rule against Hestview/Skybetting and Gaming then the UKGC is likely to fine them, and possibly sanction them as it is a repeat offence.
What is annoying is that I had to make the complaint in my sites name, even though it was a personal complaint.
