Hello!

I recently go pretty lucky and requested an amount of lets say $2900 to be sent to my bank via "Wire Transfer", Now my question is as follows, Will my bank call me or ask questions about this? For example, I only usually have around $800+ in my account every other 2 weeks and I'm just curious if the bank will call me asking questions about a large wire transfer that i just received, If they so happen to ask me, Then what should I tell them?

My only think I could come up with is freelance 3D Art designs for small businesses.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Little tipsy at the moment :D

I have never been questioned as to the reason/origin of a wire transfer or ACH payment into a bank account. They just accept the money. I would not worry about it.

(It's always good to have a back up plan/story just in case ----- but I have never needed one)

Congrats on the win.

This amount might be serious to you, but in the world of banking and wire transfers this amount would be meaningless, and certainly wouldn't raise any red flags.

I received a wire for over 100k a few years back, and I'm not sure if anyone in my branch even knew I received it.

That is fascinating and interesting. I hope one day I can experience the anxiety of having 100k wired to my bank

Thank you for the replies.

I had one other question if someone might know, Is there a reason Wire Transfers take 7-10 business days?
Not that I'm impatient at all, I don't mind waiting but I'm just curious as to why such a dealy, I tried google but i seen some that say 15mins... or up to 3days..., Do the banks just hold onto the money to so they can gain interest on it?

Thank you!

I wonder that myself -------

Obviously my only experience is as a challenged US Player, who has become accustomed to delays because of the circuitous route money has to take to get to us through processors and multiple bank routings:

One site, sends it within hours of approval ---- but will only send one wire a week.

Other sites most commonly take 3-10 business days

Checks take about a week after approval

Cash took 4 days after approval, the one time that  happened

Fedex will leave at house if you are not home, UPS will not leave delivery without someone to sign for it, USPS sometimes the courier checks come by regular first class mail, other times have come certified. It is all over the map.

FWIW,

Diane

Wire transfers don't take 7-10 days it only takes that long because they haven't actually transfered the funds. Even those from Ireland and U.K. only take 1-2 day max and that is only if it is going from bank to bank to bank first.

So from what I just gathered is that the casinos are just lazy?

No not lazy but not always truthful. If they advise payment authorized(RTG) in the cashier page. If you don't receive the wire within 3 days, it wasn't processes on the date they authorized it, regardless how long they say it takes. My experience is once it is "actually transmitted" it is received 1-2 days later, Max. Regardless if sent from overseas.

And that kind of sucks, We can deposit instantly and they have our funds, but when we want ours it takes even longer...
