Add New York Casino to Bonus Bums

Casino New York sent me an email that I would get a 50% bonus on a deposit of $50. When I deposited $50, I got a 10% bonus and no reply from chat or support saying anything other than that 10% was what I would get. This seems to be happening more and more. So, here's another one for the "Bonus Bums" list.

Post the email exactly as you received it.

Tiger 50, that sux bigtime if that is what actually happened. Post the email so we can "educate" this group on the importance of being earnest, if needed.

I just know their webmaster needs to be shot. They have the "free download" image running across the webpage just like a screensaver would do. How annoying. Don't they understand people are actually trying to friggin read the promotion page?

New York Casino Doubletalk

Well, I don't have the original email, for some reason (safely filed, no doubt). But I do have the reply, which is really a wonderful example of the English turn of phrase. After trying to get a response all day online at their site and off about the 10% bonus rather than 50%, I just withdrew my money (they kept their 10% bonus--I understand that), but here is the reply from "Samantha':

"Thank you for choosing New York Casino.

I am Samantha, a customer support representative here at New York Casino.

We are in receipt of your most recent e-mail, with regards to your bonus queries.

In response to this, we would like to apologize for the mistake made in correctly crediting your account with the relevant bonus. We have intentions of crediting the remainder of the bonus, however you currently have a pending withdrawal in your account. As per casino policy, a player is not allowed to receive a bonus to his account, when there is a pending withdrawal in his account. As a result, we advise you to cancel your withdrawal, and upon doing so, contact us by phone, to have the bonus credited to your account."

(Blah, blah, blah--have a nice day)

New York Casino"

Well it was a case of "fool me once" and that's quite enough for me. So many casinos, so little time.

The upshot is, that no one in online support actually told me the truth, and the original email to which I responded was not followed up by the actual promised bonus on a deposit of $50. That is that.

More BS from New York Casino

Their email, my reply:

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. I received a bonus of 10% on my $50.00 deposit. After waiting for the promised 50% bonus (promised by an online discussion), I played for awhile, and when there was no response online from you regarding this 50% promised bonus, I took out what left, that was MINE, $19.00. You kept your $5.00 bonus. If you do not let me withdraw my $19.00, I will consider that you have stolen it. I am posting this email with my other on Casinomeister, so that all may learn of your procedures and this follow-up insult to a player's intelligence.

And...Insult to Injury

And....today, New York Casino cancelled my withdrawal of $19.00 without my authorization and without notice, put it back in my real money account, and (on the phone) told me that I needed to wager the equivalent of $369.00 for my $5.00 bonus (%10 of my 50% deposit) or "don't ask for bonuses in the first place." Since this bonus started with an unsolicited email and an online contact with the casino, it's all pretty outrageous, all around. by the way, this was not a sign-on bonus, since I started with NY Casino a year ago. What is happening to these casinos?

And...If anyone can explain this distasteful arrangement about bonuses so it makes sense to me, please do.

And...

(I'll just blow off steam since there are more important issues out there, like the Carruthers thing.)

And...NY Casino says of course they have a right to keep my withdrawal and are "100% honest since they use a random number generator". Since we make True RNG's here at our company) and often sell to betting corporations, this was especially choice reading. A great many online casinos use pseudo-random number generators. Not that it would matter a great deal to gamblers in the long run. But they are rather nervy to say this.

Good for you

I'm glad you never had a problem with them. Truely.

I've learned my lesson. When I play casinos from now on, I will refuse a bonus, since the "small print" is too complex for me to understand or keep up with. I've made good money without bonuses anyway. I think that if I have anough of a stake to play, I'll do fine. That's my philosophy from now on.
Thanks for your reply.

that is hilarious.

it should continue: ...because now you have to wager hundreds of dollars to clear a five dollar bonus before you can get your deposit back. good luck!

this is another thing that irks me about CSRs. why can't they use proper english and spelling? and even their copy/paste responses often have typos or grammar errors.

and if an email response mistypes and, say, offers a 1100% bonus instead of 100%, does that hold any weight or are we to interpret it charitably?

If an E-mail offers a 1100% bonus I certainly would consider it a probable typo for 100%, however, if offered 50% I would believe nothing was amiss, this is in the range that would be expected for a loyal player bonus.

One issue here (besides the bonus) seems to be ignoring the player for a long time until they played anyway, and in the end withdrew because all their correspondence had been ignored other than the live chat promise. As soon as they withdraw, CS suddenly decide to open communication channels in orfer to explain why they cannot allow the withdrawal.
If they are going to hold the player to the terms they refer to, "in the mail you received", then how about THEM adhering to the terms in that mailer and crediting the promised 50% without any further procrastination.
Once they have won back that princely sum of $19 by imposing virtually impossible WR, they will have lost a player they have had for a year, on top of which, they have informed the player community that they don't want players to take them up on their bonus offers.

I can't fault a player who withdraws because CS mess them around and/or ignore them. I withdrew 1000 from Littlewoods casino in protest at persistently poor CS over a two week period, without placing a single wager. I did warn them, to be fair, I told them they had a week to reply constructively to my issues or I would withdraw the funds and play at intercasino. They ignored me for a further week, including a further phone call and E-mail, so I carried out my protest. If casinos want our money, they need to employ properly trained CS; as bullsh*t, whether through lack of training or deliberate intent, gives the casino a bad image.

is it because i started a sentence with "and"? or because i said "grammar errors"? or because i didn't use capitals? please -- i am always looking to perfect my communication skills -- alert me to what i've done wrong.

addendum: not exactly an issue with english, but i am dead sick of places depicting items as costing ".99 cents" with the cent sign. it is .99 dollars, unless they mean it's 99% of one cent to buy the item.
