32 red £20k 'freeroll'

No - tis true - I am at home - and now I AM intimidated - never seen scoring like it - bet you wish you were playing a cash game with a run like that.

I was flying at well over 100% rtp until a 100 games ago - but since then I have hit the run from hell !! Will keep going - as long as it does not continue I am looking good for second, but I think this one is yours. I guess you are due it after 3 bad results in the last three tournaments -- goes around comes around !

5OK Factory boss in free spins - 100,000, then in the same bonus round got all but one reactor positions, and then a couple of decent boiler boni. 2 further bonus rounds within a dozen spins after that. Yes, I went flying:p

I do now believe you are at home, I can see you via the hacked webcam nursing some sore ribs with a shocked expression on your face. You should get down the pub soon though, that fruity is fit to streak given what the drunken UKIP supporter pumped into it whilst drowning his sorrows:D

Very funny. I am having a good laugh in this thread. May the best member win!

Well, I'm back.

Nice pub you have there sscrabble, but I wouldn't go near that fruity for a few days if I were you:p

I dont think you have the time to play all the continues vinyl, it will be a close call, but you are making up ground pretty fast ;) Could this finally be my tournament, i don't think so but id sure hope so.

If you are prepared to go all the way with 999 continues, then your day will come irrespective of who else also goes all the way. My RTP was consistently over 100% throughout, and I got some nice hits. I even had 5OK wilds:eek2: Saw them spin in, but took the next spin before it could register so that I could pause for a screenshot. It paid almost 200,000 coins in the base game. Would have been almost 400,000 if in free spins. I had many 100,000+ bonus rounds too.

Had your RTP been close to mine, you could have powered on when I was still a couple of million behind, and I probably won't have caught you, and I would have been cursing the miscalculation because I would still have had 55 continues left.

sscrabble seems to have a slightly faster computer than me:what:. For hours I just couldn't close the gap, and if anything he managed to almost double it to 500,000. Then something went horribly wrong for him and I caught up, overtook, and then managed to hang on to a near 300,000 lead to the end.

Maybe he fell asleep again:p

No he didn't fall asleep (and that was Kava not me !) - I had another one of those horrific unbelievable runs with about 100 games to go- 80 games in a row with an average rtp of under 80% - I lost about 600,000 points to you in that period ---- boy, was I cursing !

I only decided to finish up my games on the spur of the moment in mid-afternoon - I was about 300k ahead of Vinyl , and worked out that I could just play all my games and had a good chance of beating him (I finished them with 10 minutes left !)

I was not going to finish them - my score was poor and I was going to accept the £700/800 loss for 5th - but then thought what the hell, I might get third for a £500 loss , and only lose another couple of hundred if I come 4th - was amazed to come second with under 95% rtp ( sorry about that Kavaman !)

You gave me a run for my money. I am surprised that I beat you as you held your 300,000 lead for HOURS. I thought the top player had run out of games, but I was thinking that if I played hard, I would at least come second around 300,000 behind you when it ended. Once I passed you though, I felt I had a real chance of going all the way, even though a miscalculation on my part meant I couldn't use all my games, which would have been very irritating had I been defeated despite my 100%+ RTP

I've already made a start in the next one, I'll see if I can get the double for May:)

The new game freezes up for me at the end of every game, or at best every second game , and I have to close it and reopen it - very annoying - everyone the same ?

I'll check it out. I recall we had awful trouble a couple of tournaments ago, so maybe the problems are game specific, rather than the tournament software as a whole.

Broken

Yes, it freezes when you purchase the next continue from within the game. The continue IS purchased successfully, but the software then freezes when it should relaunch the game with your new continue ready to play.

Buying continues from the tournament lobby works fine.

This is supposed to have been fixed:mad:

I remember having this trouble and worse before, which is why I played one tournament at Dash instead.

It appears to be game specific, Gold Factory worked fine last week, but Thunderstruck II is the one with all the problems.

Done some more testing. It appears that the game doesn't properly terminate when you run out of coins, or indeed when you just try to close it down. It hangs in memory even if the window is forced shut. This then seems to prevent the next instance of the game from opening when a continue is bought. Even just shutting down 32Red from the cross on the main window causes the client to freeze if Tournament Thunderstruck II is open in a tab. Even just logging off causes the client to hang, possibly because it forces the tournament tab to close.

There was none of this last week with Gold Factory. The next continue launched OK and the casino could be completely closed down without hanging.

Everything seems to point to the closing of Tournament Thunderstruck II being at the root of the problems. Running in Windows XP compatibility mode makes no difference, it still freezes.

It also is not 'running smoothly' . It is stuttering quite badly , the reels speed up and slow down. On task manager, the cpu and memory usage for the game is very erratic. It must be across all the casinos as well as I am on nedplay not 32red.

Looks like they have fixed the delay problem with buying games - it is working fine now.

Everyone is being very cautious this tournament - going to be a big bun fight at the end of the week !

Cheers Sscrabble - not heard anything back yet. Any problems with the client freezing still?

Good luck in the tournament.

Spoke too soon ! It is still freezing - it is not a big problem if you keep task manager open at the side of the game on your screen - and close the game tab on the processes page if it freezes - you can then just reopen the game - you do not need to close and reopen the casino. For some reason it always lets you play two games before it freezes !

Thanks, I will chase. Sorry for the messing around.

I am still having occasional freezes, and occasionally I get "viper component has stopped working" as soon as the tournament opens up.

As is pretty obvious, I have been utilising a tactic that seeks to minimise having to repurchase when I am on a sprint through utilising the full 12 minutes before risking a refreeze.

It has been freezing rather less of late, not every other game as before. I have a feeling it is more prone to freezing when buying a continue when "out of coins" as opposed to "out of time". My tactic ensures I always buy "out of time" continues, and it's managing to go for a couple of hours or more without freezing.

Apart from one smartarse (bound to be sscrabble in another of the 4 casinos;) ), it does seem a very cautious advance at present, with a mere 4 million being enough for second place when I last played.

How very dare you , you plastic coated meteorologist !!

You are right though. Seeing how the scoring is going I am getting my games in - if it does not start moving I might put in a third and even fourth entry. I still think there will be a sudden mad charge on Thursday/ Friday. Careful you do not mistime your final sprint again Vinyl !

Coming FIRST wasn't too bad a "mistime" now was it:p

It would have been if I had not lost the 600,000 points near the end when I had that run of nightmare games !

This latest comp has just GOT to explode at some stage !!

I notice the next tournament that should be in scheduled games has not appeared - maybe they are giving up with these fortnightly games !? :-(

Hi Sscrabble,

We haven't cancelled, this is a bit of an oversight on my part. On the scheduler we have an option of a fixed date each month or on the Xth weekday. We scheduled the tournaments for the first Friday and third Friday each month (Friday being one of our busier days).

The calendar has ruined this plan a little, 5 Friday's in May means there is a week break this time around. I'll have a think - although I guess some players will like the break!

Not sure if the others would agree, but if you can vary the games a bit more I would certainly appreciate it !!!

Could we ban Thundershit II from the schedule entirely as it's very buggy? I remember problems the last time it featured, and again this time we have constant crashes.

I have just tried having a go on the laptop, and it's EXACTLY the same sequence of crashes, so it's not a corruption of software on the client side, nor something specific to the configuration of my desktop. What both have in common is Windows 7 64bit, however running in compatibility mode makes no difference. When using the "detect" option, it suggests running Viper clients in Windows XP service pack 2 - but it still crashes on this tournament if I try it.

We could have Immortal Romance instead of Thunderstruck as they are very similar.

I would love to see Immortal Romance in the schedule!. Heck it may even persuade me to buy many continues :p

Nice sneaking tactics vinyl , hope it pans out. I did a big run on one night, and im pretty amazed that my 75% rtp will actually bring me about 650£ of winnings from this tournament. Never had this happen on a bad RTP, so pretty lucky about that. Stopped playing at a good balance for the third place. If i had played all the continues, im pretty sure i would have netted a loss ...

I think your maths is out Kava - if you are making £650 you have spent £1350 - about 540 games - I make your rtp about 94.5% - better than you thought !

For once I would not have minded someone chasing me - I was on 100%rtp - still had 80 games left - does mean an extra £200 profit though :-)

Superior played it very badly - he shoul have consolidated his fourth place rather than waiting.

I had to accept that I would not be able to make up the remaining 400,000 to steal 3rd in the closing hour. I didn't expect to in any case, I was aiming to leapfrog the two above me in the group of us on around 4 million.

I suspect that the constant problems with the game crashing and requiring frequent use of task manager and launching from scratch again put some players off from going all out.

Oddly enough, I finally found a possible solution in the closing 6 hours. I managed a good long session with no crashes whatsoever after implementing my experimental bodge.

I also tried the thing out on my now elderly Windows XP machine, and the game kept crashing on that too, if anything, it was worse than with Windows 7.

Maybe it only works properly on Windows 98:rolleyes:

I'd try it, but I don't think a 501 MHz processor, no graphics card and 384Mb RAM would allow me to complete one round, let alone the tournament, in the allocated 14 days:)

I agree , my math is out ;). The rtp was better then i thought in the end. Started really badly with around 75% rtp, but it got much better towards the halfway of the tournament. Anyway my rtp was so bad that i wouldnt have had the chance to even top out 11 mil . Anyway im pretty happy at the end result of profit with a not so great rtp. Ahh so it was you at the top of the tournament again scrabble.....

Seems like either you or vinyl are always taking down the winnings in these .. Someday it'll be me ;).

I figured that out earlier, I now know at least 3 of Scrabble's aliases, so can keep an eye out for them next week. It's a rest week this week as Mark said. I only have two, and they are both pretty obvious.

Bloody ridiculous

Yet AGAIN, chronic server lag on my first round, not a good sign of things to come:mad:.

I am getting thoroughly fed up with the total inability of Microgaming to deal with the issues blighting their MPV product.

I am not prepared to spend the next fortnight fretting over server lag that causes it to take 5 to 10 seconds to resolve every damn spin. Nothing wrong with the lobby games as per usual, it's JUST the MPV versions of the slots that have this problem.

MG should just open their wallet and upgrade their tournament servers to cope with the demand.

I'm off to watch some Dr Who off my WD media player instead tonight.

Im not experiencing any lag, so far. Could it be at your end vinyl?

Possible, I came back the next day and things were smoother.

I have had no problem either -- I see it is Thunderstruck again next week - was hoping for a change !

Oh dear! WHY:mad:

It was buggy as hell, and Mark couldn't seem to get Microgaming interested in fixing it. This seemed to lead to a lower participation rate with little interest, bar one, in going all the way with 999 continues.

I tried it on 2 PCs and a laptop, Windows 7 and XP, and the bug was identical each time, the client freezes when trying to purchase a further continue, and at a high rate of up to 50% of occasions.

Next week will serve to let us know whether Microgaming have fixed the bug, but if they haven't, participation might again be muted, but it could be a cheap victory for one who is determined (to run after sscrabble that is).

Feedback

Hi Guys,

Following your valuable feedback we have amended the next tournament to Immortal Romance. I'm also pleased to say that following several requests, we will also be mixing up the games and I also think we've fixed the issue with the gap when a month has 5 weekends!

The schedule (subject to change) now looks like:

Friday 19th June: Immortal Romance
Friday 3rd July: Hitman
Friday 17th July: Loaded
Friday 31st July: Gold Factory

The above games will then rotate in that pattern every fortnight, IR/Hitman/Loaded/GF/IR/Hitman/Loaded/GF/IR/Hitman/Loaded/GF etc etc.

A bigger change you will see is that we have now restricted entry to these tournaments for players who have made a deposit in the previous 30 days. This should hopefully keep multiple entries to a minimum and leave the genuine players a better chance. This is a trial and we will see what feedback we get from this change.

As always, we appreciate your feedback and hopefully the changes above will be welcomed.

Regards,
Mark

Mark

Sounds good ! Can you just clarify - 'if you have deposited in last 30 days' -- presumably if you have not deposited in the last 30 days, you can still play if you deposit some cash and then enter ?

Just looking at the Immortal one starting Friday - it looks a bit strange because it says 'entry fee' in the corner , whereas entry is still free for the first game - bit confusing ?

This is a great idea and should be applied to ALL free tournaments.

Agreed.... Would stop the freeloaders :)

They could do this with the Avalon daily but not the MG ones as the conditions for these are outside their control. The vast majority of these tournaments are not 32 Reds. Of the frees I think it's just the Avalon and fortnightly. Correct me if I'm wrong Mark :)
