32 red £20k 'freeroll'

It seems like this is a general outage, rather than just isolated players unable to buy further continues. This of course also explains why I see so little activity whilst I am staring at the screen waiting for "unknown error" to pop up.

Are you all playing through 32Red, as opposed to through Dash or any of the other sisters?

yes - 32red for me - I wonder if the Country we are from is relevant as well - is everyone having problems in the UK ?

I also noticed another 'change' that happened yesterday - do not know if it is relevant to changes they made - presumably since they did the 'fix' -- when I login to the casino - I click on the icon - the screen with the green bar loads up , and after a few seconds it switches to the login screen with username and password -- but since yesterday - on both of my computers - it will never switch to the login screen on its own - it just flashes away forever - I have to click on it to get it to go to that screen. No big deal - but it was not doing that before.

No - managed about 10 rebuys in 5 hours but none for an hour or so !

I do not know how these things work - but some players are still having no problem buying or playing - do different countries have different servers which would pinpoint where the error is ?

Im at 32red... there is also a 6th player that is coming behind all of us. aaqj.. dunno if he can spen all the continues though.

I saw that too. I reinstalled 32Red thinking it might be a sign I had a corrupt client causing all the tournament problems, but the reinstall has all the same bugs.

If non UK players are having no trouble, but UK ones either have to wait a couple of minutes for the server to respond to each continue purchase, then it could be a country related problem. Maybe Microgaming casinos use different servers purely for UK players because of our new laws. I did see a response relating to the repeated resetting of slot achievements, and it was that for UK players they had to "get another casino ID", and this was what caused the achievements to be reset. It seems that "different casino ID" means "different server", which is why achievements on one server would not carry over to a new server with a "clean install" of the server side Microgaming software in the same way that a "clean install" of the client on a different PC does not carry over the games from our "favourites".

I tried messing about with my settings too - but it is obviously pointless - it is 'them' not us at fault.

I messaged Mark earlier and he is raising the faults with microgaming tomorrow - presumably he will have read this thread so I do not need to update him (?)

Its now working for me, still not for you guys? I reported it to 32red earlier...

Trying now and still can't buy a continue

How on earth do you guys buy 999 goes its taking me hours and hours to buy a handful!

I rarely bother with them nowadays for this very reason, soon as I see '999 continues' I withdraw from the tournament.

Saying that, past few weeks I have rarely bothered playing at any casino full stop, haven't even come close to making a withdrawal at 32Red since October so took a bit of a break as my playtime was getting ridiculous.

Have you messaged the rep here?

I would if I was in your position.

Yes - he has been in touch with microgaming but no response yet.

I am now managing about 3 games an hour if I keep opening and closing the casino , and after about 20 cannot purchase messages - the game just suddenly , sometimes a minute or two AFTER it has said cannot purchase!

Damn, in all honesty this is pretty incompetent, especially given that large sums of money are involved.

They should put another freeroll on to say sorry for all of this afterwards

9999 continues allowed

How I imagine VWM right now:

Still not working for me btw, disappointed to see no action taking today and no response from 32red on this thread. Oh well.

Hi Fun4All,

I'm sorry that you are disappointed with my lack of update on this thread, but since sscrabble had kindly updated the progress I didn't think I needed to.

Yes - he has been in touch with microgaming but no response yet.

I have been reading the updates and chasing MG. As soon as I have an update I will update the thread. Thanks for the PM.

Mark

Mark got no response from microgaming today - that really is ridiculous - not only that they cannot solve it , and if they are so crap at their job how can anyone have any confidence in their software - but they cannot even have the decency to give feedback on where they are up to - they just have no respect for the people earning them a living - I have spent a couple of thousand on this tournament - and am just being left to stew - livid !!!

I didn't mean you personally Mark, I meant from anyone at 32red. Yes I saw sscrabbles update but I thought it would have been appropriate for 32red to post themselves on this one. Like I say though Mark was not aimed at you in any way.

Mark - cannot reply to your pm as outgoing email is playing up for me, so I could not reply to your message.

The game is working fine now !!

Thanks for the Nedplay thing as well :-)

I think its atleast a 4 way street, not just a competition between scrabble and vinyl .. Some people are coming from behind, could be even 5 way...

It could even be 6 way ! Lion is playing very aggressively now - so is he going to play all the games, or just consolidating 6th place? He might have been hit by the game buying problem, but go for it now that has been resolved.

I would normally wait until the last day before playing my last hundred games or so, but not doing that on this one in case the problems return !

Even if scrabble has used all his continues (and he might well not have) - he would have a 98.7% RTP and that's gotta be enough to win! Tough competition but that's some great return whilst slotting, congrats.

Lion appears to be out of the running, unless he is using two aliases. Could be anyone's from the top 4 or 5.

This is better than Premiership football.

Vinyl's slipped to fourth now...there's only a few k between 2 of them, in the top4, and a 500 pounds difference in prize money. So, does that mean the rebuys are done there? Or a last minute assault planned??

But going back to my original OP, most of the players in this tourney are going to be on a loss. The only winners will be the casino.

A proper tourney would be a 'one shot' tourney where it's truly random and everyone has a nice healthy bank roll like a minimum of 200 spins to enjoy it.

I would gladly play a hefty entry free to join that.

Anyway, gl to whoever takes home the £4k (£1.5k) on Friday.

So you like the 'lottery' type of tournament.....:)

I suppose I'd agree. I'd love to see one where the 'grinders' like Vinyl and sscrabble were marginalized.:D

I'd definitely have a crack at one with a 4-figure prize and pay a tenner for a one-shot.

Nah i think the format mg has on the big ones, meaning about 50-250rebuys and only 5 continues, works best for tournaments. Im still playing these sometimes, still have a few continues left but unless i hit a biggie im not beating sscrabble. I think i have a good shot at being 2nd though.... Im on the nick petteriv.

I have to admit, i was thinking i have over 50% chance of making money out of this if i use all the continues. And here we are, it is a bit over 50% Lose 1000£, win 1500£ . But back to the original point, i think i would not play these much in the future, playing all these continues takes a few days and making 500-1500£ of profit, its not worth the time. If i could guarantee im always on spot 1 yeah i would play , but its maybe a bit over 50% shot at best. Unless mrdoubleb plays all his continues, then i think its lower then 50% a bit.

Hardly can call these freerolls , if you have to spend 2500£ ;).

I can't say much, except you would be surprised!

I understand why these tournaments are not everyone's cup of tea but there are players who make a lot of money by putting the time and effort into them - and the big jackpots need the help of rebuys. Sadly we can't do a '£20k everyone risk 5p' tournament as it wouldn't work - we leave those tournaments to CM specials. :)

I get that, but 999 continues is maybe shooting it a bit to the top. I mean with 500 continues it would take half the time (still roughly 24 hours). And more players would have the chance to win one of these, and with half the investment. I think there would be more then 5 players willing to go for the long haul.....
Or creating a similar tournament with 500 rebuys instead of continues, this would give everyone an even chance .

As for cheekymonkeys comment. This tournament for example 5 people buy almost all continues=12500£, 5 people buy 50% of continues=6250£, and roughly 20 people buy about 100 continues=5000£, and other people do not buy continues. Its not the exact match of this current 20k£ freeroll, but roughly. So counting these together =23750£. Maybe there could be another 1250£ in people that buy a couple continues, so its 25000£. Yeah casino wins 5k, but its not something you could call profit for a big company. I just dont think freeroll is the proper name for these, since its only possible to win any money if you hit 5 reels wild when playing with no continues.

The last tournament we did had 500 continues and the prize was half. Works out the same in the long run. All I can reiterate is that these tournaments appeal to some players and the players can make a good profit, it's not for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback though. I will do a CM exclusive one again soon.

I suppose another good thing about them is that a lot of people (like me!) actually like to play the slots - but if we play 40000 spins we might win , (we hope we will win ), but in the majority of sessions we can end up losing quite heavily.

In these tournaments you have a chance of a good win if you play to the end - you might lose , but if you play a few tournaments you will win some, lose some , and probably not end up far off level having had hundreds of thousands of spins on different games. Same applies if you just play half the games and go for 5th to 10th prize money - no big wins but no big losses either - but a good play

Would be brilliant if a monthly tournament could be started? I was thinking something like with a set max of lower continues? Maybe 5 or 10 so everyone could join and have a chance.

I am not saying it would have to be free this one but with a good mix of cash prizes, bonuses and maybe free spins prizes in a prize ladder form so maybe top 10 cash prizes then 11-20 bonus prizes and 21-30 free spins prizes.

This would be great having this running every month and would of course not be a free one. First round free and then not sure what it should cost maybe somewhere around £2-£3 each continue and £5 for rebuy?

And yes of course keep the CM exclusive with free prizes coming as well once and awhile  :notworthy

With 20k£+ in prize money i would sometimes play these, but for me personally the 10k£ prize pool is just not enough , so im kind of changing my original opinion ;). If you are running these big tournaments i think you should run these with 999 continues if the prize pool is 20k£ or more. I would play these in the end if it was 30k£ prize pool with 3£ continues instead of 2.5£.

Im also vouching for these to be run monthly, like PaaskeDKnowUK above.
