2019 Resolutions

As we come into 2019 soon, what are some of your resolutions?
I know some don't make them as January 1st is an arbitrary day and really, any changes you truly want to make can and should start without a timescale....but regardless, going forward, what are some changes you'd like to make going forward or things you resolve to do or accomplish?

Maybe it's for home or personal, or casino changes or playing style or dream hits you're still after.

Stay alive

Moving to Singapore is my only priority for 2019.

Trying to find a house at the moment, starting prices for rentals are SGD3,000 or EUR1,900 + bills.

Hence, looking for the 1 in a million where the price is lower but the place is not a trashhole.

Have to add a few words.

The reason I want to move is to spend even more time with my son than I do now (weekends and school holidays). He's 9 and will start Primary 4 on 2nd January 2019, a time where I think my presence will benefit him most. It will all change once he is 15 or older when friends become more important.

As for the house, I am currently paying SGD500 + SGD100 in bills for the fully furnished condo appartment in Johor Bahru. So the prospects of paying SGD3K for a bare appartment + SGD500 in bills will mean 6x of what I am coughing up now, and that is rather low for Singapore. Plus, the furniture will go on top, everything from kitchen to bedroom. Money I'd rather put into his education fund. But then, I can complete my transition from semi-retirement to full retirement a few years later, maybe at 58 instead of 55, if that means I can spend more time with him :D

Finding a suitable place, close to his school and some shopping centre/supermarket/food court/Starbucks is like looking for the famous needle in a heystack. But I got time, one day I'll find the needle. :D

Every year I say I’m going to learn how to drive (at 37 I really should be able to!)

Let’s see if I still have a train pass this time next year! :D
Don't worry, at your age you won't need a Train Pass, you'll have a Freedom Pass before long :D

Only joking :eek2::oops: Girl Power, Cougars etc etc :D

...to stop moaning so much on here, especially about VS :laugh::laugh:

In all seriousness, this year is the year I am going to make it to Spain to volunteer at the end of the hunting season at a Galgo rescue charity, been something I wanted to do for a long while but now that my son has moved back home, it may just be feasible with him looking after my menagerie :)

What a lovely thing to do. My friend has two podencos she rescued from Spain and they are the sweetest dogs ever :)

Greyhounds, Galgo's, Podenco's are all deemed disposable commodities, a tool if you like, that are thrown away like rubbish when they are no longer of any use. We as humans need to give something back to help, the hounds are the most affectionate couch potatoes you could imagine and I have to admit I am pretty passionate about their welfare :)

Well done to your friend, sight hounds all have one of the sweetest natures you will come across in hounds.

Grey in my name is for greyhound, lady because I am one but sure my family would have something to say about that

That's the same in CDN here to rent a house and actually currently what we are paying. I want to get out of this city desperately but with them calling a recession coming all my plans might be on hold with maybe looking at working at a slot's provider or casino and with this u.k. bill now and governments want licenses maybe nobody will be hiring.
