Overview

Known for developing video slots that boast stunning visuals, creative game mechanics, and big win potential, Razor Shark, is arguably one of the most popular Push Gaming slot machines. It displays a breathtaking level of volatility and win potential, with the game packing a great selection of bonuses and features.

Like most slots from Push Gaming, Razor Shark is packed with bonuses and features, including a Nudge Reveal feature, a free spins feature, a mystery stacks feature and more. We’ll cover it all in this Razor Shark slot review.

As you can probably tell from the name, Razor Shark is themed around a shark. It’s set underwater, with a shipwreck found on the right-hand side of the reels and some eerie sea creatures to the left.

In this slot review, Push Gaming demonstrates that they’re unafraid of developing machines with serious potential — but that doesn’t mean it has to be unaffordable to players.

You can play the Razor Shark slot from just 10 cents per spin, with the max bet reaching as high as $100 per spin! Although, this $100 per spin max bet may differ between casinos.

The game itself is played out in a 5-reel, 4-row format, and there are 20 fixed paylines. The cartoon-style format works really well. Let’s crack on with it by looking at the game’s symbols, payouts and RTP.

RTP and Volatility

Like most Push Gaming slots, Razor Shark has higher-paying and low-value symbols when it comes to symbols. The Shark symbol is the game’s wild, substituting for all other symbols, aside from the scatter symbol, the Mine scatter.

The game’s high-value symbols are all various types of Sharks, coloured Purple, Green, Orange and Blue. These pay up to 25X your stake for a 5-of-a-kind combo. Landing a full screen of a symbol with all 20 paylines active is possible.

The game’s low-value symbols are represented by Oxygen Tanks, a Diving Mask, Swimming Fins and an Underwater Camera.

Razor Shark is a very high variance slot when it comes to volatility. The high variance math model it uses allows you for a max win of more than 50,000 times your stake — and the Razor Shark slot RTP is fixed at a decent 96.7%

Bonuses and Features

Push Gaming has chosen to add plenty of bonuses and features into Razor Shark, and you’ll find everything from a free spins bonus to a unique Razor Reveal feature. Let’s look at these free games and other bonuses and features below.

Mystery Stacks

A core element of Razor Shark is the mystery symbols — Mystery Stacks, as they’re officially known. All five reels are filled with Mystery Stacks, and the Mystery Stack symbols are represented by Seaweed. The Mystery Stacks symbols can land anywhere on the reels, and when they do, the Nudge and Reveal feature is triggered.

The Mystery Stacks will then reveal a random symbol before shifting down one position on the reels at the start of the next (paid) spin.

All five reels can be filled with mystery stacks, and if they all reveal the same symbol, it’s possible to land huge wins from the Mystery Stacks.

We should point out that Nudge spins do cost you, so they’re not re-spins, as in games like Jack and the Beanstalk.

Razor Reveal

Whenever the Mystery Stacks symbols are in view, once the nudge and reveal feature is played out and a new spin has finished, the mystery symbols may reveal not a paying symbol but Golden Shark symbols.

These Golden Shark symbols are small coins, and they will all then spin individually.

The mystery symbols — or Golden Shark icons, as they now are — can then reveal either multiplier coin values (up to 2,500X your stake) or Sea Mine scatter symbols. They can also reveal the Great White Shark — the wild symbol.

Free Spins

The main Razor Shark free spins bonus is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. These scatters can land naturally in the base game or also when the Razor Reveal feature is triggered and displays a scatter.

The Razor Reveal often lands on a couple of scatters, so the free games bonus will be awarded if you already have one on the screen.

Once triggered, the stacks of 4 mystery seaweed symbols become stacked on reels 2 and 4. They then move down with each subsequent free spin, and every time, a multiplier is applied — increasing by +1 every time a free spin is played out.

Landing any more Seaweed will then restart the free spins bonus, and the free games continue until there’s no longer any seaweed in view on the screen.

During the free games feature, the real goal is to land many instances of the Seaweed and then have the nudge and reveal feature lead to the Razor reveal feature — showing the Golden Sharks. That’s because the progressive multiplier that s in play during the free spins is applied to any coin wins formed as a result of the Razor Reveal feature. So, if you were on a 10X multiplier, for example, and landed the 2,500X coin, you’d win a whopping 25,000X your bet! Time to look out for those Golden Sharks!

The free games feature can’t be re-triggered, per-se, but the Razor reveal can reveal an extra scatter. When this happens, all instances of Seaweed are moved up one position, essentially awarding one or more additional free spins.

Our verdict

Writing this Razor Shark slot review, Push Gaming showed us that it’s possible to create a sequel to an already popular game — Tiki Tumble, in Razor Shark’s case — and make it even better than the original.

In fact, while writing this Razor Shark slot review, Push Gaming showed us just how capable they really are; the free spins feature is excellently put together. While triggering the free spins isn’t the easiest feat in the world, the high variance nature of the bonus means you’re somewhat likely to walk away with a big win. With a max win of more than 50,000X your stake, what’s not to love?

While we’re yet to see this max win achieved, we’ve seen several players getting close during the free spins/bonus spins feature. With each extra free spin increasing the multiplier, even small wins in the slot can start to add up.

What don’t we like about Razor Shark? Razor Shark is very volatile — played on five reels with just 20 paylines, the base game can be quite “dead” at times.

Unlike Book of Dead, for example, you’re not getting lots of small wins in the base. That being said, Book of Dead isn’t capable of paying 50,000X your stake — so it does work both ways.

We really like the way the free spins bonus plays out, and while it’s nothing we didn’t see in Tiki Tumble, the addition of the golden coins game ensures plenty of difference between the two games.

You don’t have to look hard to see that Razor Shark is already proving a major success!

Razor Shark Review FAQs

Push Gaming is one of the leading software providers in the online gambling industry, responsible for some of the most successful game releases we’ve seen in recent years.

Games by this developer can be found at casino sites worldwide, with new customers and existing players loving them, thanks to their significant win potential. The company is behind several successful casino slots like The Shadow Order, Mystery Museum and Jammin’ Jars.

To trigger the main bonus in Razor Shark, you’ll need to land three, four or five of the scatters — the mines — anywhere in view during the base game. These scatter icons can land naturally or be revealed as part of the Seaweed reveal feature.

With a maximum win of more than 50,000X your stake and a highly volatile math model, we were pretty surprised to see that the game developer has managed to build Razor Shark around such a high RTP.

The game’s RTP is fixed in place at 96.7%. That’s really high, especially in today’s market, where all casino sites are looking for lower-RTP slots to save money.

Yes! If you’d like to try out the slot without risking any of your own money — or don’t feel ready to play it at an online casino just yet — you’ll be pleased to learn you can try it in demo mode right here at Casinomeister!

You do not need an account to begin playing. Just scroll to the top of this page, load up the game, and spin for free, for as long as you like! Please play responsibly!
