Was just reading some Icelandic news on the net when i came across this
apparently Zodiac is going after Icelandic gamblers by making up a bogus story about
how a cashier at a local super market won the Moolah jackpot on her coffee break.
Outdated URL (Invalid)
some effort is put into it as there are a lot of made up Facebook users used to comment on it how
wonderful it all is.
the here is the story where it all falls apart as a scam

just right click and translate pages if you dont uderstand icelandic

does not look cool to me if true on Zodiac be half.

More likely an affiliate than CR themselves I feel.

Although I've not seen that particular post before the pictures, set up and 'story line' certainly ring a bell.

Been around too long to recall where I saw it last time but 99% sure it was CR on that occasion also.

Don't mind casinos trying to attract business but when they do it with such obvious BS it winds me up also.

Scary part is that there are plenty of people out there who actually believe this sort of stuff, it works so they continue using this 'tactic'.

Just the other day someone mentioned about the storys,

I said change the page, Same story's and same quick 5 minutes while having a shit why reading the news paper / on IPad while text messaging while shouting for someone to get some shitroll,

Always that hard up person that is skint but manage to find some spare change to play fruits, 99% of its all BS and now this is the proof

It is definitely an affiliate. I can’t tell what part of the story is true. I mean, the name is different, what’s up with that? The jackpot was won in CR right? CR always asks for winning stories from players to publish.

Anyway, I don’t care, I never pay attention to huge jackpot wins, I like the winning stories here at CM. Besides, the offer at zodiac is very good by itself and I have already taken it. :)

This could backfire quite seriously on CR due to the complex nature of the scam. Facebook rules have been broken in order to involve Facebook in this scam, and Facebook might not be too happy about it. This story could also break out of Iceland and come to the attention of the licensing authorities that have given CR gambling licenses, which includes the UK. The UK will hold CR responsible for this even if they claim it was an affiliate. 32Red are well aware of this risk and sent a mailer to all UK affiliates at least reminding them of the need to comply with the new rules regarding how the sites can and cannot be promoted.

Behaviours in other markets can affect their status with the UKGC.

Something similar happened many years ago with Jackpot Factory, and they got caught when someone accidentally forgot to set the dodgy text as "black on black" on one of their sites. Originally, it was intended to saturate search engines to ensure a wide variety of unrelated searches brought up their casinos on the first page.

I can't see how a specific affiliate can channel interest through his links alone by having the story hit the Icelandic media. Surely people would read it and go direct to the casino if stimulated by the story into having a go. The affiliate would have to go much further to benefit, ensuring that their links would show to Icelanders searching for the casino by name, rather than the casino's own website.

Just got this from an affiliate about Golden Tiger (CR) :D:

Woman Leaves Toilet $3.3 Million Richer!

"I thought I'd open up the casino and have a little play on the slots. It's a little bit embarrassing but when the Mega Moolah jackpot wheel, I was actually in the toilet! Then when I came out, I had a look at the screen and just saw "You have won the jackpot!"
Novice online casino player I.R. has just rewritten the record books with her colossal $3.3 MILLION win on the progressive jackpot game Mega Moolah at Golden Tiger Casino - Casino Rewards group.
There have been several overnight-multi-millionaires created by Casino Rewards in 2014, (the most recent being G.M. who netted a life changing $3.9 million!), but it was how I.R. won that that has left many people scratching their heads in amazement! She won an amazing $3,390,332!! I.R. plans to use her 7 digit bank balance to buy a brand new SUV, take her daughter on a 5 star vacation to Mexico, clear her debt, clear her mother's debt, clear her close friend's debt and donate to charity!
About Mega Moolah
"I will definitely keep playing Mega Moolah! After all, you can win the jackpot just by betting the minimum bet of only 10 cents, and I've shown that as long as you play, you'll always have a chance of winning!"

I think this is the same one woman that won ages ago, you know, same picture they always use. Not the one in Iceland article.
The good thing is that it is not CR that does this, but they have to find out who it is and deal with him.

Here is one for you guys, Please reply if you got the same email OR the town your from was changed, This is what cought my eye, It was someone from my shire :) Couldn't even spell northamptonshire right lOl

Hey there Terry,

We like to keep the big wins coming- in fact we promise that at least one player a day will win £10000 cash in a single spin! That’s a little something we like to call Guaranteed Winnings.

Lucky Simon from Northamtonshire received an incredible £1154 top up thanks to Guaranteed Winnings and he’s still dancing. Can’t say we blame him!

If Jackpots are more your speed, we’ve got something special waiting for you there too. Try your luck on the brand new MegaJackpots Wolf Run and take a shot at the massive progressive prize pool that’s just waiting to be won!

Good luck, Terry, and get spinning!

Vera&John- the best thing since the Las Vegas strip

CR have always had a relaxed attitude to spam and other dodgy marketing practices from their affiliates, now they risk being bitten because it will take only ONE UK player receiving this to make a formal complaint to the ASA to get the authorities involved. This kind of marketing may also be a serious breach of UK rules regarding how gambling is promoted.

I doubt this dodgy affiliate is taking care over which countries this type of marketing is going to.

They are going to put the blame on affiliates but we know CR are the worst for spam, All you have to do is see the emails when you wake up

Its like what KK said the U.K rules are getting on top of this shit, All money wize other than that they would not give a dam, Take alook at jjezebel37 link, $362,259 in the matter of 5 seconds! 5 seconds :D Pull the other one mate, Any one with a brain cell would just laugh at seeing that, Gambler or no gambler
