Youtube banning slot streaming

I'm going to keep that comment away from the missus, she too is rather 'perturbed' by the way things are seemingly headed, most of all, ye olde microchipping.

It's already in limited use, and apparently optional to those that use it. How long before it becomes compulsory with every employer? Have your ID on a chip embedded under your skin, track you at all times etc :eek2:

Your vision is a bit further down the line, but these things start small don't they
It will not affect our generation directly, and if enough people wake up and smell the coffee, we can possibly avoid it, but this is the long term goal. The only way to beat it is to resist at every opportunity, even if it means going without certain things; try to get away from the latest technological trickery, every single piece has an ulterior motive, otherwise we would not be getting it... if it has the word 'smart' prefixing it, it is anything but.

Dunover trys...fortnite.. incoming?

I wonder if (assuming the theories are correct) whether this will affect patreon users as well as streamers with affiliate links.
Oh for sure, Dazza should migrate to Twitch and video games, say, Fifa

"F*ck off ref, that c*nt was a mile offside" before rage-quitting

I am still a pretty avid World of Warcraft player...We have a guy in our guild from Southend and when I heard Dunovers voice for the first time I thought it was the same guy!! Or his evil twin brother!! :D When we go on a raid with the guild this guy is always the most vocal one, curses the most during our 2 hour raids and did rage quit a few times already, but always came back after..

There are plenty of blokes like that, around London, that's pretty normal. :)

Talking of towels and streaming, do you remember that cringeworthy Jeremy Thorpe trial from way back in the dark ages?

WTF was that all about?
You know Hugh Grant is re-enacting this very event, as we speak, on the *cough* excellent *splutter* BBC?

The Atlantic had a story today about these bans and features quotes from a couple of prominent channel owners.

I’m no fan of Brian Christopher. He blocked me on Twitter for no reason. He’s just a pompous gambling addict who glorifies the habit. He even admits in the article that he’s a professional slot machine player and that being a YouTuber is his full time job. He was set to tour North American casinos for the 69th time, streaming footage of him playing slots to his fanbase of other gambling addicts on YT.

I always had Dunover down as a David Bellamy type with tourettes before I met him. Those videos I tell you

Now, I think T-1000 mixed with Hulk Hogan. He'd beat me up in a heartbeat

Where has this been reported? I can't seem to find anything official anywhere.

Craigs slot bonus hunt is the only thing that I follow and he has switched to Twitch. I can't be arsed to join Twitch just to follow anyones sessions. There is also this

Jeremy Thorpe was leader of the then Liberal Party and as bent as a bottle of chips. He buggered a few young men, one of which threatened to expose him. Then the boy had an attempt on his life and he was tried. The alleged hitman disappeared and it turned out recently he was still alive. Thorpe refused to give evidence at the trial so his predilections remained mostly secret and he was acquitted. I remember at school some older boys having badges with "I'm buggered if I vote Liberal" on them.

I think there were political motives as well, with the timing of the press exposure, as Thorpe was quite popular and he might well have swung an election by his being at the helm, either by taking votes from the tories, or perhaps forming a coalition; much safer for the establishment to just sweep him out of the way.

I also think there was a social engineering aspect to it, as well; I seem to remember that some of the press reports at the time were bordering on homo-erotic pornography, and the public were bombarded with it.

...are we talking live streaming / videos of streams (with links etc) here or ALL gambling content?

I for example have a YT channel full of slots videos (none were ever live and none contain any links or profit making related information)
If you have heard nothing from YT, no warnings etc, you are probably good to go.

Don't Winner Videos amount to the same thing though, if say the little 'uns catch a glimpse on a slot of someone raking in 3K off a £10 bet type thing.

I don't think any of it should go, but objectively speaking, Live or pre-recorded can still visually entice someone to take a punt. As with 13 year-olds racking up 80K on their parents' credit card sort of punt. If YT really is serious about keeping it from minors.....

It would be no great loss for me if they did close me down, just interested to see how far they're going with this stance etc.

Not uploaded a video in ages now, loss of interest more than anything else, ironic the days I fired up Bandicam seemed to be the days the RTP switch was dialed down :p

I do however prompted by Simmo's post above want to try and capture a nice Paradise Video on the new Afterlife: Inferno slot before they "pull my plug"

If I still had a Youtube gambling related account now, I'd download all my videos and upload them to somewhere else, possibly privately, just in case I needed to switch. I used to use Wistia as a video serving platform (not attracting viewers, just for serving videos) and that was excellent but not free.

Looks like those gambling addicts will be allowed to stream again. Apparently, YT was in “error” about the policy change so everybody has been reinstated and they can go about promoting their casinos like normal.

I guess YT has a heart. You don’t want people’s “careers” ruined.

Twitchy bum time for a good few eh, pun intended :o

Well it ARE their careers so good luck to them.

They make money from gambling just as this and other websites are.

Not really, many of them make money with false and deceptive marketing.

A 100% up to 100e bonus with 35xB wagering has an EV of around 24e even with a low bet (1e). Higher bonuses and higher bets and the EV of course increases, add to that that many have very lax rules when it comes to allowed games and for example buying features with bonus money. And there are streamers that always play with a bonus so they aren't risking a single cent in the long run, in fact earning by playing. So they are basically paid to play and promote the casino.

Have no problem with streamers who play with the same rules and promotions as real players.

Edit: added wagering for the bonus

None legitimate ones have deceptive or false marketing techniques.

I played with bonuses and this year am still well down. All bonuses do, is give you extended play time. You occasionally convert them but most of the time you don't.

Streamers don't make their money off playing the slots. The house edge takes care of that. Affiliation money is different of course. No different to others means of affiliation.

i really think its just a new way of affiliating and thats pretty much it. Its not like they are trying to hide the fact how their terms are different to yours or mine and most legit streamers will always mention it a few times how we should always read T&C and how regular player T&C are not the same as they have special offers not available to regular players

the fact they are "paid" to promote casinos in question is true but i dont think its fair to blame it on streamers either. If casinos offered me a daily 100% bonus with decent terms id be stupid to say no. Casinos are the ones who profit the most of it, hence why they have better offers for people who bring players in masses.

Also, some of streamers stream on daily basis for 4-8 hrs a day, so it really is like a job for them. Yeah in the end of the day they profit because other people are loosing money but thats how affiliating has always been and its not any different to dozens of other real life jobs either.

if you think anyone is to blame for better bonuses and bonus terms for big streamers, that would be casinos and not streamers (players). They simply got a good business offer most people would gladly take and it would make little to no sense if they decided to say no to +EV bonuses and played with pure cash instead. As i said its a job so people are very likely to accept pay raise or better job offers when they get a chance so trying to put all the blame on streamers is kinda ridiculous really.

Well the numbers don't lie. The vast majority of bonuses are EV+, and especially "streamer bonuses". Its of course in the streamers interest to say otherwise, that may be by intent or not understanding the math.

Edit: Somewhat agree with the above post that in the end its the casinos "fault" that they engage in misleading marketing. That's of course nothing new in such a shady industry. Some people have ethics though.

What is misleading ?

So why did interlog lose ?

Without knowing any details it will be one or several of: game selection, bet size, variance or playing without bonuses too.

The bonuses streamers get are +ev but only if you play them right. If you instead go very low bets on low variance games they turn -ev. The variance is also ridiculously high, nothing strange with being down for a couple months depending on how many bonuses you take.

I think it's safe to assume Interlog and other grounded streamers that play with their own funds are not in it to make money

The ones that promote richdom beyond your wildest dreams using Monopoly money and shilling to kingdom come are the ones that send out the wrong message.

And whatever money they may or may not make will likely just go back to the casino anyway :eek2:

I wonder how exactly can you make a living gambling on slots in American casinos. You’ve got YouTube ad revenue, merchandise sales (yes, you can buy T-shirts and mugs with these professional slot machine players’ pictures on them or their catchphrases), donations from gullible people, Patreon and that’s about it. You’re playing on 88% slots with high stakes and need to keep winning to keep playing and having footage. I think it’s a dumb idea for a job.

And, again, many of these YouTubers are absolutely annoying and obnoxious. I can’t stand the ones who constantly point at the screen or type their headers like some Minecraft player high on Red Bull. Ridiculous. They have to gamble at 4 or 5 in the morning so they don’t annoy people.

I get the same bonuses players get, only more frequently.

Take Winning Room casino as an example. 100% match parachute bonus, 70x bonus wagering with a max bet of £2.

Hardly ev+

Well depends on deposit and what the terms are for cash balance. Go with max bet of 2 (also on cash) and for example doubling deposit strategy with a 100 deposit and you have an EV of around 40 although with a very high bust rate.

You will play with cash first without restrictions. You can cancel the bonus and cash out as long as you haven't touched the bonus funds. Once the cash balance is gone you play with bonus funds and that is when the 70x wagering starts and the restrictions apply. Not just £2 max bet but also the usual games you can't play such as Dead or Alive.

As said, it results in extended play time more than anything else.

How did you feel about the movie? I dont know about the game much but I do like those kind of movies. I thought the movie did not live up to the expectations at all

i think any streamer who is honest about what they do should never get shit on. Its a job just like others. No one forces anyone to do anything anywhere. And if you are a real money streamer that streams every day you have to be filthy rich to afford it AND have an amazing deal. You can EASILY lose a few million a year playing slots doing 5-20 euro spins all day long.

I think the only people who should get shit on are the ones doing 5-20 euro spins 5-12 hours every day and pretend they are real. Making affiliate money and going and buying groceries and cars with others peoples losses by being a scum bag.

Nope the movie was for a die hard player like me quite disappointing..
Part 2 is supposed to be much better.
Problem with first part was that they jumped in the middle of the lore instead of the beginning and also most actors were mediocre at best.

Let's see part 2, scheduled for mid 2019. :)

Meh,I find this one soooooooo annoying...

Streamer: Oh no what just happened, shiiiiiiit, I can't believe it, did you see that guys? What just happened...Whilst saying this facepalming, looking in utter disbelief after another "HUUUUUGE WIN"...Like some of them should be nominated for a Razzie...100% /puke

Are the streamers like nickslots back on youtube now?
here is his latest image but it was for a 2min video not a stream:
hqdefault.jpg

would the casino where he got this win be allowed to host this image and video on their site? Would UKGC allow it? If not then it has got be a grey area for youtube instead to host it.

I simply don't believe Nick Slots or CasinoDaddy or Rocknrolla are real... even with affiliate income I can't see how they would make enough to bet at 5 quid for 6 hours a day...

Let's assume they play 96% slots straight for six hours at an average bet of 3 quid. Then let's assume the average game time is 4 seconds to allow for features etc...

That's 15 games a minute. In 6 hours that's 5400 games per day.

Which is £16,200 wagered.

At 96% that would be an average loss of £642 a day. Assume an average of 25 days streaming and that's a loss of £16,050 a month.

Rocknrolla is betting at probably an average of 10 quid a spin, if not higher. So he would need to clear at least 50k a month profit just to cover his losses.

Now I know affiliates can earn a lot of money but is that realistic? Can they clear 16k profit a month AND have enough to live on?!

If so, then I'm in the wrong job...

But also their career is out of their hands.... if YT or Twitch or one of thr GC's ban them, that's career over. Very risky.

You are forgetting they get some very good bonuses, some have better deals than others. If they are expected to lose 16k/month and get 30k worth of bonuses in the same time, they'll end up making 14k each month.

It's pretty clear that a lot of streamers know exactly what they are doing, making relatively small deposits, playing max allowed bet on high variance games and when they hit the big wins they'll go wager it on lower variance ones. The most obvious one was casinotest, he'd keep doing 100+100 deposits, play Minotaur and bust in like 1 minute or hit big. He'd easily go through 20 or more deposits in a day and that's a lot of bonus money.

I don't really see a problem though, some streamers are entertaining to watch. Yeah, they are getting paid for promoting the casino in the way of bonuses but it's not like they are trying to hide it, if their viewers don't understand math, that's not the streamers problem.

@trancemonkey I'm 99.9% sure you are wrong about rocknrolla. But for the others you have to factor in the +EV deals they get as @Tengil pointed out. Then you have to factor in the affiliate money. Casino grounds is doing somewhere in the region of 400k euro a quarter. It's serious coin.
