Turn around...
I was following this thread and thought why can't an online player have their own personal database?

https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/mummys-gold-bit-harsh.54146/

You can log any experience with IGaming sites via your own personal database, enter the details. I'm pretty sure I can do this, will take a bit of time but rather than you, the player trying to keep track on paper or memory or whatever why not have your own personal database to access your gambling information, details/notes?

This wouldn't be shared information among other player's but rather your own personal entries, would anyone be interested in this type of feature, search function?

I think its already been done by Gamtrak.

It's a good idea.

Would it be free or a paid service?

GamTrak is an affiliate gambling portal, benefits from players gambling at casino's. I don't!. Totally different.

I can make it free to you Nifty if ya don't have $4.99 for a year, or 41 cents a month? :D

Honestly I'm just asking CM members if this is something that would interest them, if not I won't pursue the programming.

Settle......I wasn't comparing you to that affiliate. I was just saying that there is already a similar service in existence, that's all.

Not that there's anything wrong with affiliates, as long as they are trustworthy and don't peddle dodgy casinos and sacrifice their integrity for a few bucks e.g. those that promote v1rtual, v1p lounge, w1npalace etc.

I believe that some might will find it useful, but for me it wouldn't make any sence now.

When people start to play online I think most are doing like I did. Go free chip hunting, signing up everywhere with no thoughts behind at all:o
Then it's already almost impossible to start keeping everything in order.

When I finally did get myself some knowledge in this business I started to close accounts, but I know I still have some opened where I have just unsubscribed.
The different is that when you get so far that you wish you had been kept track of everything, you are probably down to just a few you have chosen to play at anyway, and you are really careful when you open a new account.

For those player's that it might be useful, is it worth my time or abort? :D

My opinion, for what it's worth - I think by the time that anyone found such a service to be useful, it would be already too late to be of use. I've only signed up at 5 casinos, I don't need that. I've only signed up at 12 casinos, I don't need it. Oh crap I've got 150 casino accounts - I wish I would have kept track of them.

Or maybe that's just me. ;)

I'm no good at computers. Maybe you can do something else that I need:D
I would like to be able to list the casinos I still have in some software order, or to be honest, I would like to see a list where all Softwares list all casinos that's using it. Is there such a list already maybe?
Then I can just make some notes next to each casino. Do you hear that I'm thinking out loud now?:o

That's my point, maybe I'm moving into the future too far..

I can do whatever's needed at PV, let me know..

I already have my own database. It tracks deposits and withdrawals, as well as account details of every casino I have ever joined. It is on the PC as an Excel spreadsheet and Works sheet. The same could be done in Open Office or any other free database software.

A subscription service is likely to put players off, however good the service. After all, it is a simple thing to do for free with the "crapware" that comes along with most new PCs. The other thing is that if it is private, why risk that by having it kept online for a fee, where it just might be used by the providing company in some way, or even hacked.

What would be far more valuable to players is a database that can SHARE experiences, but in an anonymous way. It would need some way of condensing the input from players into a single page that gave a general indication of what to expect. It would also need to quality control the reviews else we would see Top Game and Affactive casinos with A* ratings because of the sheer number of highly satisfied players:rolleyes:

It would also need to protect casinos from the actions of a small number of players launching a "slamfest" attack by posting bogus negative ratings from large numbers of fake players. A motive for doing so would be to blackmail the casino into paying fraudsters, and we know this kind of thing has been done in the past.

We currently have the CM Accreditation system, which does much of the above, except that operators have to apply to join before they get rated.

A player lead system may be better at picking up on problems such as the Purple Lounge fiasco that develop so quickly that the accreditation procedures can't keep up. It might also be good at picking up new operators that have started out well, or indeed badly.

Good points but I'm not into rating sites, I'll leave that up to CM. A player input ratings database would be abused and impossible to manage as too much corrupted content could be entered manually.

I was thinking more on the lines of adding a personal user database where a player could enter information they wanted to remember and then go back and search their own database for past information.

it could be simple stuff like what username did I enter for x casino, or have I ever registered at x casino. It could be anything they wanted to remember about IGaming experiences. They would simply enter it in their personal database and when they wanted to check on something, just do a keyword search and see their personal notes.

Heck it could even be what did I have for dinner on 12/10/12, or when's Bubba's birthday? :)

I wouldn't start a new site for this, just trying to think of some additional perks for players, thought this might be something neat to add.

BTW - No one will have access to this information and I'm sure it's more secure than sitting on a home computer or on paper form.

Anyhow thanks for the feedback, doesn't seem to popular so I probably won't pursue but hey it doesn't hurt to ask! The best way to learn is to ask questions.. ;)
