Had a withdrawal from uptown aces via WU they blocked me from receiving it. Apparently I have had to many WU payments sent to me and have been blacklisted. I was requested to show proof of family relationship and reason money was being sent to me to be taken off blacklist. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up as I have only had 6 or 7 cashouts via this method over the last 3 years

Yep I've been blacklisted by Western Union and Moneygram both for the same reason.

While cash is nice, apparently Western Union and Moneygram are both particular on whom you are allowed to deal with on a cash basis.

So, that's it? Is WU holding your money hostage? Have you been able to withdraw your money from some other method?

Uptown offers to send a check... But my bank will not accept Canadian checks nor do they allow international wire transfers. So unless I open an account at a big bank I am up the creek and no paddles onboard. Everything is such a hassle any more it has taken all the joy out of playing.

Please see my location also.... been here for several years. LOL

Our gov has placed very strict guidelines in place for money transfer businesses, and those regulations have tightened up even more in the past year or so.

I haven't played online in a couple of years now (again). When it wasn't fun anymore, why do it? It just took too much money and time and aggravation for me to deposit... and even more hassle and risk and fees with a withdrawal. I do wish I could just make a deposit and play, but those simpler days are only a memory now.

If Uptown has a rep here on the forum please send her/him a private message and ask if there is any way they can send your money.

Good to hear that Uptown reached out to help a bit further! :)

I never did understand why people who only bank at these small credit unions are always frustrated
when they can't receive their money due to the really tight restrictions that the small credit unions
impose on their customers.. "My bank will not accept Canadian checks" is the silliest thing ever..
"My bank doesn't allow international wire transfers" is just, well... plain out ludicrous.

Canada is being treated like some sort of third world country when in fact they are a hell of a lot more
economically stable than the U.S. could ever dream of being. If anything, Canada should be more scared
of accepting American checks.

My advice? Open a checking account with Chase or B.O.A. with $50, keep it in good standing, play at
an accredited U.S. friendly online casino who does withdraws back to the same card used to deposit
with and only use that debit card for gaming. I'm sure your small credit union won't have a problem
with you transferring money to your other major bank checking account......Right?

I couldn't imagine having to do a withdraw via WU with those outrageous fees, transaction scrutiny and having to drive
to pick up my money. They want to "blacklist" you for using their services? They want proof of your relationship with the
person sending you the money and all sorts of other personal shit? F*** THAT!

I'd rather sit and wait a few days for my funds to clear to my checking account.. Major bank checking account that is. Good luck.

UpTown Aces has paid me via the 'PayMyCard' option (back to the CC I from which I deposited). Have you tried this? Its only a $9 fee and they are very fast.

Its the only cashout method I use anymore.

It seems that WU tend to assume that it's family to family transfers that are being made, but if an average of 2 a year is enough to earn a blacklisting, it looks like there is something else going on, something that has made them suspicious of the transfers, rather than this just being a routine check based on the number of transfers in a given period. It may be the source country triggering this, and perhaps a very low likelihood of a family member from such a country sending money to another who is in a "rich country" as it would normally be the other way around.

Perhaps these off-shore establishments could figure out the exchange rate and stuff whatever their local cash is (pounds, rubles, pesos...) in an envelope and mail it to the winners. I wouldn't think it would be that hard to convert it back to US dollars.

Yes, the few times that I have used WU and MoneyGram are from Nicaragua.:eek2: I always held my breath and stared at the cashier while she read and typed in the info, much like that scene from Midnight Express.:D

I went to different grocery stores to cash my WU. You go to the WU interactive kioske, call the number, fill out paperwork, print the receipt and give to cashier for payment. Never had anyone question me.All mine were also from Nicaragua.

LOL, great example. That movie was a real horror story.
