This is mainly an issue with Pragmatic slots, isn't it. I believe Hacksaw, Nolimit, Push, Relax ++ show both the base bet and the total bet size in the winning screen.
still easy to manipulate, buy bonus and change to basegame after the win, it still shows the last win

I feel you mate. It's all about autospins and it's unfair towards those who can't. Whether I'm at home, at work, on the road, in the store, at the pub, whatever, I can just keep spinning. And when you can just keep spinning, the wins will come. That, and the slots finally paying something back after long, dry spells. Take Anubis - I've played it for months now without a single hit of note, and now they are appearing en masse - it's RTP. That, and the stars suddenly aligning - other than what I've posted here, over the last two days I've also hit a 2,777x on Anubis and a 4,000x (!) on Power Pops.

Yes it is BUT.....there are things to consider here.
Look at the game selection and the low bet sizes. Those are no accidents.
I don't think for one minute that if teckiwi and SCATT3R were playing these games on the same stakes that you play Bonanza, they would stand a cat in hell's chance of posting three 500x wins.
They'd likely bust out before even getting a chance to land even one, because these games are BLOODY HARD GOING.
Even 20p/c stakes are very dangerous on those games. teckiwi himself has already alluded to Lil Devil "not being so kind the next day". As a fairly regular Lil Devil player myself, I know exactly what he means.
That game can properly do a number on you, even at 10p bets.
Betting a quid/euro/dollar a spin would be bordering on suicidal, because at some point, variance will get its revenge.
And the last thing anyone who is attempting to win this comp will want is to be unable to play because they burnt through their entire bankroll for the month in the first week.
Hacksaw and Prags can and WILL do that and often, if not approached with caution.
Low rolling and "long rolling" on or near absolute min stakes grinding is going to be an essential requirement for this comp, like it or not. (FWIW, I don't exactly like it either, but let's not lose sight of the fact that it is a FREE comp).
Another thing that will need to be done is to hit and run and change games quickly and frequently.
None of this "sessioning" the same game for multiple hours is going to work.
And just from a personal experience earlier this year, I played the same slot at seven different casinos in one day. And this is what I managed to win....
Deposit 1 - 25 quid in, 30p bets RTP 96%. Hit a win of 626x. Cashed out 175.
Deposit 2 - 25 quid in, 30p bets RTP 96%. BUSTED.
Deposit 3 - 25 quid in, 30p bets RTP 96%. Hit a win of 2,419x (my best ever on the game in question). Cashed out 700.
Deposit 4 - 25 quid in, 20p bets (because the RTP was 94%). Hit a win of 1,063x. Cashed out 200.
Deposit 5 - 25 quid in, 20p bets (because the RTP was 94%). BUSTED.
Deposit 6 - 25 quid in, 20p bets (because the RTP was 94%). Hit wins of 261x and 118x. Cashed out 75.
Deposit 7 - 25 quid in, 20p bets (because the RTP was 94%). Cashed out 25 after playing for over two hours without busting out or doubling my deposit, simply because I had to go to bed
A grand profit in one day playing one game on 20p and 30p bets, and not even all of it being played on a max RTP version of the game.
Games get hot, games get streaky. Players go on mad runs, it happens.

No way I'm sitting spinning manual slow UK regulation spins at minimum bet for hours at a time to try to hit scores like that.
If I could wack on auto play and just turbo through 1000 spins while doing something else it would be way more realistic. Stupid UK rules.
I have tried once, and only once, to play Hacksaw on 1 EUR bets. After burning through 1,000 EUR in basically no time, I decided never again.
It always was, and will always be, for these kind of contests. Anything else is, like you put it: suicidal.
Keep in mind that even the very lowest rolling can be absolutely brutal for the bank roll on slots with this level of volatility, so anyone who manages to see it through to the end has absolutely put in the work, dedication, money, and effort - and have rightfully deserved their place in the top of the standings.

It's like the multiplier contests the last few months, almost everyone in the top 5 of each lost more than the 95-145eur prizes they won unless they had a huge raw cash win. They are in it for the love of the competition rather than to make a buck.
I get the frustration where you have certain Govs placing limits on autoplay/restrictions etc, if I had to deal with that I likely wouldn't be playing at all.
Not every contest here has to be a profitable spot for the entrants for the prizes, theres regs here who only play the provider contests where you enter up to 5 20x wins or whatever because they print money and for ~20eur average cost you expect to win 40-50eur back long term across multiple comps.
This comp is still generous, 6 or 7 100eur leaderboard prizes likely won't be heavily chased(just drop in your 100x+ entries when playing normally if you get lucky and you might find yourself winning free money at the end of the comp). Plus the freeroll for the random team draw winners for 50-150eur too.
