The contest will run hot in the beginning. People will try and take a huge lead in the beginning of the comp. After they have secured a lead which is unbeatable or too big to catch up they will stop going for 500x hits. If two or more people go for 3 500x hits everyday then it's going to be destructive for all those guys.
Also we are going to see the 3 same slots everyday for most people. For example a wild swarm and a Lil devil grind can get you two 500x hits per day.
CAN being the operative word.
Busting open a hive or hitting 40 hearts guarantees one thing...a feature. That's it.
A 500x win on EITHER, let alone both, is far from a fait accomplit.
To think that it is would be foolhardy.
Yes, people will TRY and build a lead early in the comp. You won't get any argument from me there.
Does it mean that they will succeed? Hmmm....not so clear cut.
And as
@Webzcas quite rightly said, it is a marathon, not a sprint.
And it should be treated as such.
Anyone who enters this with a view to winning one of the top prizes is going to go through A LOT of peaks and troughs (mostly troughs) along the way.
Apart from anything else, if the data from previous comps is anything to go by, then getting three 500x wins in a day even ONCE is going to be quite the feat.
I personally think that no one will score more than 11 goals on any given day.
Even rolastan (if he was still a member here) would struggle to score 15 goals in a day
I have more than adequate levels of pig-headed stubborn bloodymindedness to try and win this comp, while also having a chance of being profitable in the process.
But it sure as hell does not mean that I will....or even
should (Spoiler:
I won't).
Simply because if it went tits up (and it SOOOOO EASILY could), then I will (pardon the pun that I am about to use) have scored a massive own goal instead.
And to compound that insult, I would end up being taken off injured (due to lack of funds) midway through the first half. So yeah....to hell with that idea.
Everyone should just play at the stakes they like to play at/feel comfortable with. And if they get enough wins to enable them to finish in the top ten, then great. If they don't, then better luck next time.
Let's just see what happens and enjoy the comp for what it is....a fun event for the CM community.
I've come away empty handed the previous two months, but I still enjoyed taking part.
