Hi all,

just want to talk about women in gambling and casino community. What do you think about female casino operators, affiliate managers, players and of course forum and community administrators.

Most people think that playing slots or running onlinecasino brands is a part of mens world.

Reality shows that there are a lot of powerfull women in gambling community, not only high rollers and successful female players. I could not image the world of online gambling without women like lady jelena (casinomeister) or all of those female affilate managers around the world.

Please let me know your thoughts about women in the world of gambling.

Senior level positions are incredibly demanding. I think women strive for a balance with personal and family lives more so than men, which may leave them at a disadvantage to rising to the top of their fields, but may be more "sucessful" at a happy life. I know any discussion of men and women ends up as generalizations, but I don't think that it's a lack of opportunity as much as a lack of willingness to sacrifice everything else.

I'm nearing sixty, there's been a real shift in the world, and for the better I think. There are more choices available than ever before. As far as affiliates go, anyone, man or woman, who works hard enough is on an equal playing field.

I think companies are more focused on bottom line than old stereotypes these days. This is a relatively new industry, so there is not quite the "old boy's club" that still permeates some of them.

Funny..that people say there’s no difference......when people talk about other posters on the forum......99% of the time they have assumed they were male....and refer to them as he...

I just finished like a hour ago watching High rollers history of gambling, watched it on you tube and very interesting.

First woman dealer Eleanor Dumont who open her own casino mid 1850's and was a dealer which she grew a moustache guess as her trademark and men came from all over to play at her table to see moustache.

There were some powerful woman gamblers back in the day.

my earliest memory of women in gambling, was Jennifer Tilley on TV shaking up the poker world.
I wont comment oh her skill or anything - rather, it was ..'diffeerent' that a woman was at the table

At my work, there's a group that gets together every week to play cards mostly blackjack and poker and 3/4 of the players are woman. Never thought of it before till I read this thread that it came to mind.

Never really looked at anything and thought there's more men than woman or more woman than men its just what it is.

I for one is a man and do not play cards just slots.

I believe slot machines is one of the few forms of gambling where women ever so slightly outnumber men in terms of players. Sure I've read that.

As for women in the industry. If the ICE show is a good indication of the industry make up then to me it looks very male dominated.

In this day and age it should not matter what position a woman holds and whether its men or woman who hold the top positions in companies.

Long as they still manage to have dinner cooked lol:eek::p

In this day and age you are lucky you can still get away with that little joke......lol.

if you have a human body, you can gamble or represent anything you want to. It doesnt matter whats in your pants.

There is little exclusion, so if there is a male of female affiliate manager or rep or owner or whatever. Or if there is more men than woman, or woman than men, it just a decision thing or whats available. Alot of casinos reps etc are female.

And many dont think that btw maybe feminists I guess. Who said its a mans world? Nobody cares anymore we have moved way past this

Thanks for mentioning me, @ladyhammer :D Although I don't like those "powerful", "successful" and similar terms.
People should stop racing between themselves and genders especially. Life is not about that, but to do as much and as many thing you really like and love. I love this industry and consider myself very lucky to be in it for years, because I can say "I love my job"!

Nowadays, there's really many of women here - as players, as affiliate managers, heads of departments, CEOs, webmasters etc. The ratio is kinda balanced. But a few years ago, I think it was in favor of men. I'm recalling it from the conferences I attended. Lately, there's more and more fresh and very young faces of both sexes around. Most of the affiliate managers I'm speaking with daily are girls :)
So, it's all fine - we should stop comparing genders and being extra surprised seeing a woman on certain business positions (excluding jobs which require big physical efforts).

Re type of players, I've always found girl players more careful with bet sizes and money amounts spent on gambling, in general. That's just my impression.
