Hi folks,

I would be grateful for a response from anyone that has been involved with a similar situation.

I have two withdrawals that have already been processed from two different sites to a card that was cancelled by the bank today.

They provided me with a new card to due potential fraud.

Will I still receive the funds in the bank account that this cancelled debit card belongs to?

Adam.

I have had withdrawals to cards that have expired before, and i think i was told that the card is automatically linked to the bank account, so i would think you will get paid ok.

Had this happen once, although a good while back.

W/D paid to a Halifax card which had expired by a couple of months, used pre pay to deposit, got lucky and without realising I had not added new card and withdrew to old one without updating.

I can't remember whether I even got the casino involved but don't think I did, either way I got the funds no problem at all and simply added the new card at a later date.

99.99% confident also as said above that you will be fine.

Been there bought the t-shirt, Ring the bank up in a few days and let them know you have funds going to the old card, By this time the funds may be sitting there and they will than release the funds, No matter what you will receive a letter from bank saying about the money, It used to be something like 6 months before the card got shut of completely but I do not think they ever get complete shut off,

Do not panic, Jus a phone call and all sorted, Best to wait untill you know the funds will be there

Yep, had this at Barclays once. Money was sent back to a cancelled debit card and had to call them as the money was sitting on the dormant card. They transferred it over to the current account taking a few days.

Most cards have the first 14 digits the same, so all linked to your name.

If you still have the underlying bank account, this shouldn't cause problems, the bank should sort it. It's more of a problem when people move banks or cancel a card without having any other account with the same bank. Here there is no obvious route for the bank to redirect the funds, so this is where it gets annoying when casinos insist on sending a withdrawal back to a source that no longer exists.

Banks would need such a system in any case as merchant refunds for faulty or unwanted goods are common, and can easily take place just as an old card expires and a new one is issued.

Thanks folks. One of the withdrawals (£700 and change) arrived this morning. The other one is still AWOL but that site has been plagued by the Worldpay issue which only recently got resolved.
