Who Is American Grand?

I got an email from American Grand. I am sure I have never been in that casino. Funny thing, though, they mentioned my "user name." And it IS my user name at other casinos. So they must know me from somewhere. And their sister casinos are as follows.

"*Only available to those players to whom the offer was sent and not valid
for players with locked accounts in any of our sister casinos including:
Crystal Palace, High Rollers Lounge, Cleopatras-Casino, American Grand,
Golden Nile, Lucky Coin, Lucky Pyramid, Royal Circus and Vegas Frontier."

Funny, though. I've NEVER been in those casinos either.

I smell a rat.

The same thing happened to me, only it was Cleopatras. It is a scam. They stole user names from CON. Oliver Curran must have a "mole" working at 888.com

My kind of scam.

make sure you don't fall foul of this

Before any withdrawal totaling more than $250. U.S. Dollars is authorized, a FVF must be properly printed, clearly filled out, and faxed back to americangrandcasino.com before any monies will be sent. In addition, all casino accounts must be registered with a non web-based email address.

or this

15. Should we suspect your play to reflect "Advantage Player Tendencies", your account may be closed and any winnings and promotional funds will be void. Advantage Playing is defined as minimum wagers to the minimum wagering requirements with a subsequent withdrawal request

Life's too short to deal with guys like this

I wouldn't call it a scam, but I would not recommend playing there. Especially with a statement like the following:

As a Safebet.org Platinum Certified Casino, all of our games, odds and payouts are constantly monitored by an independent organization to ensure fair play and sufficient resources to operate with the highest standards equaling Las Vegas.

:what: What independent organization? Safebet used to be a fake watchdog site - then its domain lapsed - and now it's parked. Nothing nada. But the operators of this casino feel you are too stupid to know this, or that you don't give a flying rat's ass. They don't - why should you?

How a casino presents itself is a good indicator on what can be expected if/when you ever run into any problems there.

Point taken. # 15 seems pretty standard, even

has that in their disclaimer. However, I use web email almost exclusively because of the available spam filtering my ISP sorely lacks.

I'm still wondering how they got a user name that I use at other casinos, yet I have never played at that casino or any of its sisters. Off the top of my head I can remember that I use that user name at a Cryptologic site. Of course, I don't think that's where the breach is. I'm sure that it must be from some RTG site that I can't remember right now. But my experience with RTG is very limited. I have played at maybe 3 or 4 maximum, no more than that. And it was never American Grand, or Cleopatras or any of the ones it mentions as its sisters.

Bottom line is that my information has been compromised somewhere along the chain. And apparently these scoundrels at American Grand are the ones who swiped it and/or paid for it.

Ha ha! Maybe I better alert SafeBet.

Surprisingly, out of all the casinos I have played at, Casino on Net is not one of them. I have never played there. I have more recently played at Pacific Poker, but that was not the place where that specific user name was used.

I'm really going to have to search my brain to remember where I used that name and where it might have been stolen from. I have most all of my info written down, somewhere. I've been playing online since 2001 so it is kind of extensive.

Ok. I've looked through my notes and I did find that I once used that user name at a 5 Roses Casino. That was some three years ago. I cannot find that casino anymore so I'm wondering if they went out of business. I am sure the software I used was on an old computer I had that eventually crashed. So I cannot check it that way. When I type in "5 Roses Casino" in google it just comes up with some phony looking portals.

Just like I suspected, they probably swiped that user name from one of the few RTGs I've been in. All in all, they are obviously very shady and not worthy of anyone's hard earned money. :(

I believe some of these casinos used to have other names. American Grand was Five Roses I believe. Some others were riviera gold and onluck.

Were u a member of any of those?

Five Roses was part of a group of online casinos owned by IPI Media and managed by an abrasive bugger called Paul Jurgens.

They underwent a radical re-branding exercise and then were subsequently taken over by the Doleplex group around July 2004, which is probably how the player bases became intermingled.

Here ya go, from an almost 2-year-old email that I 've kept because I had so much trouble getting legitimate winnings from Lucky Pyramid (the old Fortune Towers):

Thank you for your play. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of a front-end name change to our family of five casinos which will be taking place over the next several days.

Our front-end name changes will be the following:

Fortune Towers Casino will newly open as Lucky Pyramid Casino

Five Roses Casino will newly open as American Grand Casino

Golden Comps Casino will newly open as Golden Nile Casino

OnLuck Casino will newly open as Lucky Coin Casino

Riviera Gold Casino will newly open as Royal Circus Casino

I took out the links as they were trash almost 2 years ago and I wouldn't want to even seem like I promote them.

Well that answers that. Thankyou all for the responses and information. So I guess I was wrong about my user name info being compromised. But it looks like we all agree that it is not exactly a group of stellar integrity. lol

Thanks again for the responses,
Paul

I'm a 'johnny come lately' and just joined tonight. Wish I had found this site months ago.

Finally a mention of Vegas Frontier. Seems to be a mystery site, no contact info on the site. They owe me a $250.00 payout that I have been trying to collect for over a week. Won fair & square within the perimeters of the rules. No response to emails. Oliver Curran seems to be the chief honcho on this site too.

Buyer beware. I, for one, will not deposit on any of these sites.
