I have not fully decided as of yet in what we will do/have though I need to make a decision fairly swiftly.

We thought of a BBQ, however kinda always have had and maybe preferred the roast dinners then a BBQ for a Xmas feast, dinner. - BBQ never seemed like something that fitted Xmas Lunch/Dinner to me.
BBQ is usually on New Years Eve, afternoon, evening and even midnight lol

Might just do a roast beef and chicken, maybe a pork too not sure.
Was thinking of a nice creamy potato bake (scalloped potatoes) some cauliflower & Broccoli with cheese sauce, of course roast pumpkin (butternut) and maybe a few roast spuds as well.
Salads, the usual I think, potato salad, coleslaw and a normal salad - lettuce/tomato/cucumber/cheese/spring onions/croutons, dressings, gravy etc.

Desserts - cannot even think of something yet that I want to do.

Though summer weather has finally decided to start kicking in and it's looking like it will be sunny and around 33c degrees, so not sure I want to cook that many roasts and have oven going with that kind of heat
and in how hot the house gets as well.

Myself, I'd be easily content with various salads, breads, but this will not work so well for the carnivores in the family lol

What is on your menu ?

lol

I think Tradition various from country to country, here it would be roast lamb or real aussie probably BBQ, but we have never had a BBQ xmas lunch, seems wrong.

Finnish traditional christmas menu must include a low-cooked, over-baked ham and/or smoked turkey.

Other servings usually in our table are:

Smoked and/or salted fish dishes: Coregonus lavaretus, salmon, herring.
Casseroles: rutabaga, some enjoy other root vegetable versions and liver.
Salads: mixed beetroot (rosolli salad) is a must.
Peas, potatoes and other stuff.

I'll probably concentrate on different cheeses and beverages: 3-6 diffent cheeses, mulled wine/glögg, red wine, beer and cognac. My eggnog is a bottle of Baileys. Might have some chocolate and a nut on the side.

Most likely it will not be a sober christmas.

Chicken and mayonnaise sarnie from Tesco's garage Christmas Eve, that'll be in the fridge ready for the big day. A can of Plan N Go energy drink they gave me at ICE back in Feb. which I've kept back. A few fun-size packs of Maltesers for pudding, the trick-or-treaters dropped back in October in the dark and I found the next day. I shall warm the 2 old Duracell AA's up and hopefully should get 2 hours' Radio between 12-2PM, maybe more if I use the earpiece to save energy. I will hide in a suitable front garden with plenty of cover and try and watch a bit of TV through a crack in the curtains, last year I managed a whole Emmerdale and half a Corrie before they took me away.

I might not go near the stove this year. After the family ate 2 turkeys, a ham, a hen and 2 stuffing's for thanksgiving that did it. I barley got a spoon of anything and had to eat a burger and fries. I cooked for 3 days. Everyone thinks i am the cook for Christmas but i will not budge from the TV that day. I watch 2 shows, ID (Investigation Discovery)and Supernatural (Sam and Dean Winchester) and it is time to catch up. I might move if someone is dead or dying but there is no guarantee. I have already had people anticipating my cheese cake and banana pudding . I think my family needs a lesson on sharing and holiday spirit :D.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAH those last 2 posts made me laugh big time!!! To damn funny!!

I still have made no decision, though I better hurry up!!

Now weather is saying it is going to be 36c Sunny, fuckkkkkkk that for running oven for hours argggggggg!

Big family feast for us and very traditional: Turkey, ham, roast fillet, wide variety of vegetable dishes and salads....and of course roast potatoes.

Usually at least three different desserts and a Christmas pud doused in brandy and set afire for the grand entrance.

Each member of the family brings prepared food contributions agreed beforehand to reduce the workload on whichever home is hosting the event (it rotates every year).

The essential thing is the family coming together, and the kids having lots of fun with siblings and cousins plundering stacks of gifts under the tree - also very traditional.

^ That is awesome!

I have decided to stick with the roast dinners, veg, salads, all the trimmings... even though it is going to be extremely Hot, would not seem like a Xmas Lunch/Dinner without the traditional for us!!

Homemade spaghetti. Garlic bread from freezer. Name brand apple cobble from freezer baked piping hot then topped with oodles of butter pecan ice cream. Hours and hours of football and popcorn and ham sandwiches and beer for the four days I'm off. Ahhhhh the single life....

The full works Turkey, ham stuffing with Brussels Sprouts etc ( I love Brussels Sprouts) with the family and when I get home a big glass of wine because it's always stressful with a strong willed family like mine and I will need it!

A like minded woman! I LOVE Supernatural and have a marathon ahead of me on St. Stephens day for that. I also enjoy CI and ID which I call the murder channels:p
