Hi there guys,

This being the most active gambling related message board, with a whole range of different types of casino players, it seemed like the best place to post the BIG question...

What do the players want?

We are trying to unclutter our websites, by bringing the relevant info to the front, and making it more accessible, while dropping irrelevant info, that's regarded as "not so important" to the back.

What do you look for first when you reach a casino site?
What information would you like to have served to you as soon as you reach the site?
What do you regard as "less important" information?

This info would help us greatly in creating a more user friendly experience for players.

I agree with all of that. So annoying when the popup to download comes up when you are trying to navigate the site. This may not be important to other players but I would like to know more about the companies I am dealing with. When I click on an 'about us' link it just gives some vague information about how long they have been around. I would like to see a simple bio and pictures of the head manager and maybe CEO of the company, and more information about the business itself. I want to know who I am dealing with. It would just make me feel better about putting money into the casino. I do not really have any complaints about the VPL sites.

Usually i check carefully all details in casino page, including "about us"-section.
And i remember that 32red have this special "Meet the People"-site, like meister show.

Btw, i apprciate, that casino start this thread. And i like to say about pop up's, those are really annoying, even i have pop up-killer, but it's not active everytime, since many "good" site don't use pop up's anymore.

I remember that there was few "this month contest-winner" or something like that in few months ago (before you update page in few casino site) e.g. in 777 Dragon-site. But your information about "this month" was almost 6 month old then. Always.

I have played at numerous online casinos and I have to say that your group offers one of the best packages around. The signup bonus is good,excellent customer services and now the cashin period has been shortened to about 1 working day(at least for maple casino). Havent tried the others for quite some time. I would say that as long as you have good customer services reps who are willing to reason with the clients on all complaints/issues,that would be the best thing around. Large bonuses with low WRs wont stand the test of time.(sorry,guys). You are still a business,arent you?

There is one point I would like to tell you about regarding your casinos, and it is not related to the websites. There was a complaint made in the complaints section about another casino (not a VPL casino) and it reminded me. I love your casinos and how fast you pay but the only complaint I have is the auto bonuses. It is a pain to have them removed and you should not add them unless someone asks to be on the bonus list for auto bonuses or asks to have them put on manually, as not all the bonuses would be of interest to bonus claimers especially the 5% credit card deposit bonus. Unless someone asks for it you should not add it, and I am sure you will not have a lot of people requesting it. Most would not want to be locked into wagering requirements for such a small amount. Other than that I say keep up the good work VPL

Keep things simple and straight forward. When a casino makes you search for information, It makes me very wary that they are scammers.

I too hate auto bonuses, personally as well as professionally.

Personally I don't want to be trapped into wagering requirements, I want to deposit my money and play whatever I like.

Professionally, I get way too many novice players screaming that the casino stole their money.

Upon examination they accepted a bonus, didn't read the requirements, played their favorite game, won something and were not paid.

We understand that it is because of the wagering requirements, but the novice doesn't. They go home and tell their families and friends that online casinos are traps and cheat.

I would like them not complain when a player plays according to *their* terms and then they ban him for not playing enough. Luring a player with a "bonus on every deposit" and then trying to push him to play more than the terms is poor practice. More on that in a separate post later today.

i know your asking more along the lines of website design etc. but the most important thing in my opinion is trusting an online casino.

I know someone said you may wish to put a picture of the operators of VPL. This is a great idea. I think it would sway more people to play at VPL because when people look into casinos they want to know that a casino is trustworthy to pay and without any hassles. Promote that concept more on the site.

Some good points made so far, I'd like to reinforce these ideas as well as contribute some of my own:

1) Tell us USEFUL information on the "about us" page. Most casino's "about us" page is either sorely lacking in useful information or alltogether missing. The things we want to know are:

- How long has the casino been operational?
- Where is it physically located?
- Where is it licensed?
- What software type is it using?
- What other casinos / businesses are partnered with it?
- And most importantly, SHOW US the people in charge and provide an easy way to contact them. Give some real background on the owners / managers so that we may better relate to (and come to trust hopefully) them. Kudos to 32Red for doing the same.

2) Bonus offers:

- A variety (including a "no bonus" option) should be made available, and the current offers as well as all their T&C fine print should be made available clearly on the "promotions" page.
- When making a deposit the available bonus choices ought to be brought up front and center. Ideally with a nice little menu where the player can examine the fine print for each offer and make their choice as best suits them. That way there are no surprises for either the casino or the player.
- Make the T&C short and sweet. Put the important information at the top (wagering requirements, restricted games) and make it BOLD and obvious to the player that this is not simply "free money" but that there are some strings attached.

3) Annoyances:

- NO POPUPS. They suck, and any "gotta have it" type marketing information presented in them simply ought to be posted at the top/middle of the home page, NOT in a popup of ANY type.
- NO "Download the casino software now?" popups. They are still popups, and these particular ones are even more annoying. As was said earlier, if I become interested in your casino, I am perfectly capable of clicking the "Download casino" link myself.

4) More specific information about the available games:
- Game variations available including minimum and maximum bets on each.

That should be enough to get you started.

Here is one thing I don't get. Why does the VIP account make you log in with a new account number? This is really annoying, and once I tried it I could find no difference on any of the games. The limits all seemed to be the same. Now I have 2 accounts and 2 passwords.

By the way, I do want to say that I was commenting to a friend that the VPL places have improved a lot in the last month. I like to "Bet it Up" so my wins and losses can be fairly large. It used to be that when I had a cashout at the VPL places we would go through 3 weeks of "we didn't get the fax" crap. I almost stopped playing when I had to send documents to the same casino for a withdrawal, when I had just made a withdrawal a month before and sent all the docs that time. Someone told me that any withdrawal over 2000 or 2500 meant you had to resend the documents every time.

Well the good news is, that all seems to have stopped. My last withdrawal (over 5000) came in 2 days with no nonsense. That is the way it should be, and way to go VPL. (Well, actually it should come in 5 minutes like Phoenician) but 2 days is fine.

But sometimes you meet the bonus terms and they cut you off. Then they tell you to play more and they will reevaluate.

I would rather see them be straight forward about what terms they really want. I worry they use that bonus to fish for compulsives and discard responsible players.

Mostly, I wish they would engage in dialogue. So far they have been invited and they won't show up.

they do allow you to opt out, the only problem is if you do not claim bonuses then you have no way to know that a bonus will be added because I do not read the promotions page, why would I?. When I first downloaded the casino at Maple I deposited $1000.00, played a few hands only to come back the next day to see that my balance was higher than what I left it at. So I phoned them and they said they need to have an email in writing for them to remove it. I sent them email and it took them 2 days to finally receive my email and remove the bonus. Now I have been removed from all future bonuses and it will not happen again, but what a pain in the ass to get it removed, my money sat for two days and I could not play, otherwise I would be playing with the bonus and would get locked in.
