As a table games player its taken me a while to do the cross over thing and play slots. At first I just didn't get them, I just didn't see the attraction.

However now I do, well at least for me. I enjoy a good slots session in a way that I just don't get on the tables.

I realise I play slots for one reason and that's to hit the bonus rounds. I'm not really interested in the normal spins. If I could use auto spins on my fav slots I would. I'd let them run in the background and come back when I've triggered the bonus round.

I've been playing Montezuma mostly, some Raging Rhino and more recently Bonanza. They all at times smash my bankroll and all regularly give disappointing results in the bonus rounds. BUT when you're least expecting it you get a great hit and that's what keeps me coming back.

I'm not experienced enough with slots to know all the different bonus types, so I may be missing some really good ones.

So to my question - Whats your favourite Bonus Round, why/ and on what game is it on?

Thx Neil.

No doubt this type of thread has been done before.
But, off the top of,my head id probably go with jatb bonus round. Keeps you engaged even when all hope is lost since you know you can get extra chances to hit keys with walking wilds giving extra spins so there is (well, you'd think) still a chance something could happen including a retrigger at the bleakest of moments.
Its the only one i find myself talking things in, like suggesting that id be content for a walking wild on reel 3, as to not seem too greedy and insist i want one on reel 5.
Just a shame it rarely ever seems to reach the top end of its huge potential, not to mention usualy taking an absolute age to drop in the bonus to begin with.

I really liked Captain America's one, but of course much like most Playtech games it had the 'tiles' to choose from, and this one had the works!

The main protagonist expanding wild, the err 'bad guy' expanding wild, multipliers, re-trigger symbols etc

Once managed to unlock the lot, couldn't believe it! A right rush, that :D

Won about 50x, but still

Not a coin win, anything but a coin win. Jimi Hendrix...Koi... heart sinks like the titanic.!

Funnily enough Jono, had a 50 quid Novo session (I used to hate them) on Admiral the other day. 6 bonus rounds in lucky lady charm in about 150 spins (record for me) - but... all were under 30. I didn’t think that was allowed on them :eek2:

Too many to mention all, but at the moment my absolute favorite is Wild Heist at Peacock Manor, from Thunderkick..it has a Free Spin Round whereby you get to pick cards (or let it pick for you) which can reveal extra FS (you start out with 7), multipliers, 3 top symbols that will turn Wild, and the three Gold Cards: the Walking Wild, the Random Wilds, and the Wild Reels. There are some spectacular combo's to be made, my best result came from a 5 key trigger, where i picked a multiplier, a few extra spins and Wild Reels, and that retriggered to add a top symbol wild..paid well over 600x

But i haven't seen the max potential yet, and the slot is just great fun, because there are so many possibilities. It's also pretty streaky, so several Bonuses in short succession, all paying quite big, aren't uncommon... The Gold Card features also randomly trigger in-game, which makes the slot even better.

That's pretty much all i'm looking for in a slot...

Other decent ones are classics like Book of Ra, and it's numerous clones - some great ones by Gamomat, and the Play'n GO one Book of Dead ofc - but i like the Thunderkick 'improvement' on it the best: That's Falcon Huntress, which has all the symbols expand if they form a winning line (and, even if they don't land from reels one to 5, can make multiple 5OAK's). Right after TK launched that, a few other providers copied the same idea - some very well, others a bit less (Red Tiger, and a few others i forgot), and of course one could argue it was first done by Merkur, with their Magic Mirror Deluxe, however that is not quite the same. And there are a few other providers that copied that one as well.

I'm also a sucker for Sticky WIlds - best examples probably Dead or Alive from Netent, and Cazino Zeppelin, from Yggdrasil Gaming..

But to be fair, i like slots without Bonuses too..golden oldies like Starburst, or 5 and 9 liners from various providers, all appeal to me: straight forward slotting, hoping for a good succession of smaller, reasonable wins (Starburst), or one good 5OAK in the base-game, which usually are enough to make or break a session..MG has great ones, and Gamomat and Merkur have some as well.

I know there are other providers that have them too, but the above ones are my fav's.

Hope that helps:)

I agree - I really like the wild heist bonus round because it offers something different

I like features which can gradually build.
Jack & the Beanstalk is probably the best of these: 9 times from 10 you hit virtually nothing in the first 7 spins, but even with just 3 spins left it can go on to give some very decent wins.

Then there are the free-spin rounds with gradually increasing multiplier - especially from Play'N'Go and BTG.

Brilliant, that's given me a few more slots to try.

I like features like retriggers and increasing multipliers. I really like the Montezuma wheel and I'm quite taken by the increasing multipliers on Bonanza. Something where you're kept involved and feel that there's more to come is ideal.

I like the sound of Wild Heist, will def give that a try.

Based on what you said here Neil, the responses given so far are bang on the money. I can't fault any of them.

I'd be checking out the following games. Please note that I am using the word "version" rather than "clone" as they are not carbon copies.

Epic Ape, Buffalo Blitz (Playtech's versions of Raging Rhino)
Legacy of Egypt (Play N Go's version of Montezuma)
Diamond Mine, Irish Riches Megaways (Blueprint's answers to Bonanza)
Wild Heist at Peacock Manor (Thunderkick's version of Jack and the Beanstalk)
Jack and the Beanstalk (Netent's version of...erm...Jack and the Beanstalk )

Novomatic slots, including Captain Venture, Lucky Lady's Charm, Dolphin's Pearl, Book of Ra Deluxe, Book of Ra Magic and Katana. All very capable of giving out multiple re-triggers ie anything from 3 to more than 10.

Danger High Voltage (specifically the High Voltage feature, as it offers both high multipliers and re-trigger potential).

Merkur slots, including Rail Road, Dragon's Treasure, Gold of Persia, Magic Mirror and Magic Mirror Deluxe II. Same level of re-triggering potential as Novomatics.

Laser Fruit

King Kong by Nextgen (I once had a bonus round that started with 150 spins and it re-triggered 11 times for a total of 1,800 spins. It took nearly four hours ).

If you're looking at smaller scale multipliers (5x and below, but also re-triggerable), then you should consider some of the MG 243 ways slots like....

Immortal Romance (Amber feature)
Finer Reels of Life (Coffee and Chocolate)
Playboy (Kimi feature)
TS2 (Valkyrie feature)

or some of the MG classic 9 liners (3x multiplier and re-triggerable)

Agent Jane Blonde, Ladies Nite, Thunderstruck

There's plenty out there to tick your boxes.

Also, your fellow CM staff member (Simmo!) created a rather neat tool called Slots Comparer. You might want to check that out as well.

I dont know whats worse. 4 hours in a bonus round that dissapoints or 4 hours waiting for one on bonanza that dissapoints. Tough one.
What was the result xbet if i may ask?

It was 1564x bet. I would happily accept, that on pretty much any slot, that would be a massive disappointment for 1800 spins.
To give it some context, I've had a Rhino feature which lasted the bare minimum 8 spins. The first 7 were dead spins. The final spin paid 1665x.
When you put it into that context, it doesn't show exactly show King Kong in a good light, does it?
A feature that doesn't even last 240 seconds (even with the win count of 1665x being allowed to play out in full) paying out more than one that lasted nearly 240 minutes.
It sounds quite ridiculous when you put it like that.

I have to be honest though, I genuinely expected to win somewhere between 1500x and 2400x on an 1800 spin bonus,
simply based on previous "long-assed" features I'd had on that game. So I wasn't disappointed, believe it or not.
There was another reason I wasn't disappointed. I triggered that 1800 spin bonus on just the fifth spin of the session.

Is the feature "boring"? Well....hmmm....yes and no, I guess. Yes, because it is very likely you will get no big single spin win within the feature.
And No, because the excitement (for want of a better word) comes from knowing that a 150 spin re-trigger will almost certainly add at least another 100x to your total win.
That, along with the fact that the game can go re-trigger crazy.
I suppose the thing that makes the feature "not boring" was the sheer novelty of a FS round lasting that long.
It was something I'd never seen on any other game I had played, before or since.

There is one other thing I should mention. My FS "strategy" for King Kong was such that if I had won only 50 spins instead of 150,
I'd have turned down the FS and taken the mystery prize instead.
The reason why was simple. The FS round doesn't include the one thing that makes the base game "withstandable", which is the King Kong Goes Ape feature.

With "KKGA" taken away in the FS round, it really does highlight how weak the base game would be without it.
It also highlights one other thing. Just how essential it is to get re-triggers in the feature.
So my plan was always if I win 75 FS or more, I take the spins and hope for re-triggers.
And if I win 50 FS or less, I took the mystery win, knowing it was capable of paying up to 100x.
I only know this because I did once turn down 50 spins, took the mystery prize and won 100x.
If I had taken the 50 FS and not got a re-trigger, I could so easily have come away with a total win of less than 25x.

Now that I've typed this long-winded post, I think I've probably just about done enough to put Neil off from ever trying this game.

Makes sense with the decision between the spins or mystery win . I dont know the game so was curious. Now you've explained in a few words ( :p ) how the spins play, i see now why that result wouldn't be such a disappointment.

Though if it were me, not knowing the game and its tendancies, I think that session would of went something like: 20 mins in -YEEAH BABY. 1 hour in - looking good! . 2 hours in - well, its all money!. 3 hours in - youre killing me tbh. 4th hour - *#€× this $€×% .

" I triggered that 1800 spin bonus on just the fifth spin of the session.""
Must be a record. 4 hour session from 5 spins :D

I'm a bit of a comfort zone player. By that I mean that I rarely try new slots out of my own accord unless its either a freebie,a battle slot or after quite some recommendation in Casinomeister. So for this reason my faves are quite limited.I love the bonus round in JATB for its unpredictability and its potential. You don't even have to hit the harps to get a very nice hit.
Another is Warlords because once in a while any bonus round can provide a big win and I have found that the slot is very good for wagering requirements as long as your patient enough to play it way beyond the first 100 spins in order to balance your deposit out.
Bonanza,DHV,Donuts and Extra Chilli have already had plenty of coverage in these fora so I'll not bother going there.
I also have a love for playing Secrets of Christmas and Secrets of the stones for their quite exciting bonus rounds.I get a huge buzz from the two wild lines coming up on my picks.
Dead or Alive is my go too slot if I am done with chasing a win and I simply have a few quid to either burn or win from.

Reactoons bonus round can be fantastic but I consider the risk of achieving a decent bonus round in the slot as being too slim to bother playing it often.
White Rabbit appears to me to be a filthy slot designed to fleece players, even though I love the bonus rounds potential so I simply do not go there.
I also try to avoid playing slots that require you to play them extensively in order to unlock extra features or extra choices when achieving the bonus. They feel too "tracked" and give me the impression that their RTP is effected too much for the new player (Immortal Romance springs to mind)
Ted is one of my guilty pleasures if I am given a small NDB and that slot is available to play it on because he can fart out some nice bonuses and help build a balance to help towards the wagering.

I have yet to learn of anybody getting the gold card. Has it been triggered and if so what does it provide you with?

Has been triggered countless of times by me personally, not guaranteeing big wins though... I mostly get it when i just let the slot autopick:

1 - The Walking wild is like Jack and The Beanstalk's base game Wild, which can come in one at a time, or several, and the extra FS that it provide, sof course don't subtract from your spintotal.. This of course is great with unlocked top symbol-wilds, and multipliers.

2 - The Random Wilds should be obvious, but (without quoting me on it, as i'm not checking the paytable, but rememberring by heart) that will guarantee at least one, max 7 or 8 per Free Spin, added before the reels stop. Also great with added top symbol wilds and multipliers ofc. :)

3 - The Wild Reels are also pretty self explanatory -but it will add at least one, max 4 per reel, before the reels stop...if you get this one with added top symbol wilds and multiplier, you're most likely to get a few 100x bet at least (it can also screw you over of course:p)

I have played the game a lot, mostly due to the Videoslots free battle weekend a month or so ago. I know the other features from the bonuses. However, you do not seem to have indicated what happens/you get when you trigger the gold card?

I indicated exactly what they do :p
Their function is as described, the same as in the base game - but now with the added possibility of unlocked top symbol wilds and multipliers..

Choose number of spins and multiplier. Great Blue, Penguin Vacation & Irish Luck free spins are hands down the best. 15 spins and 10x multiplier rarely disappoint.

There are lots of good innovative bonus rounds but I am with miso - if the potential for a decent multiplier and free spins (23 at 10x for example with the games above), these attract me. I really like increasing multipliers too.

Of the "newer" innovations, the previously mentioned JATB bonus round is excellent. I also like Playtech's "Fantastic Four" style bonus. But ultimately, anything with big multiplier potential floats my boat.

The gold card gives one of those features. I’ve had a couple already earlier this morning, got walking wilds each time.

Sucks because I can't enjoy slots like that captain america one, looks awesome... But for me I just love games like nova 7s which every spin is exciting since you can land some insanely monster hits when you least expect it. Paydirt is another because of the bonus round variety, I love game that have a few different types of feature rounds to play.

Sticky Wilds is one of my favorite bonuses in any game really.
I think it is such an exciting feature.

Had some amazing hits on Rumpel Wildspins (Greentube) and Cazino Zeppelin (Ygdrassil) to just mention a few.
DOA is of course an extreme example of sticky wilds but pays also very handsome if able to hit that elusive 5OAK wildline.
