What does it all mean for me?

I'm fairly new at online playing (about 3 years). Really new to playing at all,,never been a casino until about 4 years ago, didn't even know how to use the machines,LOL. But my kids drug me to one of the Indian casinos in our area once, and I Loved it. Did pretty good too. Then I discovered online casinos. Man I love that I can sit right here in my living room, in whatever state of dress I'm in and play. I've read everything posted about USA bans on online playing; but it is still confusing for me (I never said I was too bright). I do live in a state that has NOT banned online playing. So,,am I OK? Is someone going to come-a-knocking some day and haul me away? One thing I wondered about is--for instance I play at All Jackpots, one of the few places I can deposit. But I can deposit there because the word "CASINO" is Not anywhere on the credit receipt. Anyplace that uses the real name of the place when I want to deposit is blocked, and won't go through. So,,is this legal? I mean, I keep telling myself, that as much as I lose, and as little as I cash out, they couldn't possibly think I'm laundering anything but my clothes! When I started playing I could use Paypal, and it was so easy. Anyway, can anyone explain to an old woman, about these stupid laws we have in the USA? I bow :notworthy to your knowledge, and give Thanks in advance for any help.:)

Hello chiggerbyte...........welcome to the forum! From your About Me page (Occupation Retired from a landbased casino) I gleen that you are not really wondering about the games, or what casinos to stay away from, but how to deposit at good casinos. You want to know if you are "legal" to deposit.;) The answer to that is subjective. Since the inception of UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) the hassle is not that much for depositors as it is for financial institutions. The UIGEA makes it unlawful for banks/financial institutions to facilitate money to/from an online casino. The law does not specify that gambling, per se, is illegal. Unless and until someone slips another such term on the backside of an unrelated bill and it is approved and signed, you will have to decide if it is something you want to "chance" or walk away from entirely.

thanks

Boy, suzecat---I don't like subjective. Sort of makes me leery now. Does that mean my bank could be in trouble? Does it mean I can be in trouble with my bank?:confused:ARRRRGGGGGGGG!Would I be better off with one of those e-wallet things, instead of using my card? The reason I haven't used one of those, is because they all seem to have charges for using them--cuts into mu playing money. I really do appreciate this meister forum. I've asked this type of question at other so called watchdog sites, and mostly got 'duh' answers. I hope I was correct in posting a reply. I'm so old,,I'm still learning to use posts, and threads and stuff, and I never know what all the letters mean, except LOL. what the heck is IMO? Bear with this old gal, I'm working on it.:)

i came real close to losing my banking account as my bank said it was unlawful to gamble online, the smaller banks and credit unions are not that bad, i use wired plastic to deposit and q.t to withdraw, no problems so far, ill pay .45 cent or .95 cents a transaction just not to have the headache of the bank knowing what im doing..................laurie

LOL :D

IMO= In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion

Yes, the ewallets are not free to use although your bank would be insulated from UIGEA legalities. And I would definitely take lauriejim's post above to heart when making depositing choices!

Thank you laurie

:thumbsup:Thanks lauriejim. Good advice! Now another dumb question. What do you mean by wired plastic, and q.t. for withdrawals? I went to a casino to try to find out for myself and there are lots of deposit options,,and I can't get to withdrawal options, cause I have nothing to withdraw!lol Thanks for your help...chigger

ps; can someone tell me if I'm doing this right? Am I just replying to my own post? I'm wanting to ask more questions, and thank those that have helped me. I'm soooo old.

WiredPlastic.com is one of many ewallets. QT is QuickTender and is a (an invitation only) payment option offered by some casinos.
You seem to be doing just fine posting on the forum!:D

P.S. unless you are 110, you are not old! No offense to octogenarians on the forum!

Hi chiggerbyte and welcome to the forum. :notworthy

I myself am in the USA and I mostly use an ewallet. (I also use a prepaid reloadable card). My bank saw one deposit using my atm/debit and sent me a letter stating it would be shut off if I used in for online gambling again and yes I am in a state where it is legal.)

I do hope you have been reading this forum some and I hope you use the casino's listed on the accreditted list..

and stay away from these.. (or make sure where you have been playing is NOT on this list.. )
https://www.casinomeister.com/rogue-casinos/

I certainly hope you found us before playing at the last list. If you did you are one of the lucky ones.

I wish you lots of luck.

DEPOSITS METHODS DISAPPEARING ONE BY ONE

Hate to say it but virtually all banks are "on to" all the methods you have mentioned in the above posts. This is from first hand knowledge.

However, they can't actually prove it but they definately are beginning to question customers.

Our days are numbered in my opinion.

well i myself have went and ordered a wired plastic card on the internet. waiting for it to come in. i will then use it as a means to recieve my mpney from a casino or my q tender account.. dont know how long banks will take to figure things out and i want to have another way of transfering my money . dont know all the rules with wired plastic yet but when i get my card in i will learn. anniemac has helped me and if i have questions i will p.m her. she uses it all the time and a few others on the forum.

May I just suggest (no offense to OP, honestly)

not sharing your dep/wd method to a brand new person who I am sure is nice but we still dont know if its someone who claims to be that lil ol lady who only drives her car to church on sundays?

If it was ANY other subject, I wouldnt be so jaded but sounding too Naive gives me a red flag, especially a retired gamer employee:)

...........i think im not going to answer anymore posts about deposit methods, maybe im getting too paranoid but with all the other stuff going down at bodog, with pretend players being planted to get info, whos to say it couldnt happen anywhere, even here:eek:its very sad when you cant share info, afraid that you might get caught up in something, its really scarry times for the U.S player i.m.o........................................laurie

I agree LJ and feel so bad that I had to write what I felt. I honeslty hope the OP isnt afraid to post here anymore on other subjects and please understand that it has nothing to do with you personally.:) Im just leary when it comes to such personal questions and I would love to share what I do but like Laurie, Im too scared as well.

Hey, dont you have to have a certain amount of points or posts before even being allowed to come in here? I dont think the OP can even come in here, I have a feeling thats why she posted in the open and then a mod moved it in here.

..............i had thought that also, but she did get her answers before the thread was moved, good thing or bad thing, i just dont know anymore. hopefully she will post again:)............laurie

I was on here today, and decided to try to find all my old postings (threads?). I'm so sorry if I scared anyone. I never dreamed my question of the best way for USA people to deposit would do that. Really! I am old..I am outta the loop. I still have a problem following what the heck you "knowing" people are talking about sometimes. Too dam many letters, not enough words 'spelled out'. Hay...I Just joined face book yesterday (my grandson begged me to do it). I got lost (as usual). I didn't see this last posting where people doubted I was the old dumb lady I pretend to be, or I probably would Not have posted ever again. There is a BIG difference in the rules playing online versus brick and mortar playing. Jeez. I don't twitter, or tweet or whatever the heck it's called, or blog, or any of that other stuff. I still get lost in this forum. I'm sure there is an easy way...but I can't even get back to a forum place w/o going back to the main site, and then navigate from there!
Nope you don't know me. BUT..I Don't Know Any Of You...but I trusted you to give me some good advice. I thought That was what this site was all about?
Sorry for an inconvenience I may have caused anyone.
Now I'll shut my old mouth, take my car out for a Sunday drive...oh wait, it ain't Sunday yet...I can't go anywhere.:p
And if this darn thing is supposed to go into that America the Beautiful place..just move it! I only know how to reply from where I am.
And I thank you for your patience.:)

Yeah there are still online casinos that allow US players to play for real but they are few and far between. I just cannot wait for regulation to be in place so that players from the US can stop feeling like they are doing something wrong. I mean, we know it is definitely not wrong, but US laws are trying to stop it. Darn UIGEA! Technically, playing at online casinos is NOT illegal at all. It's only illegal for the banks to accept transactions from online gambling sites. So if you use a method to use as a third party and then transfer that money to the bank it should be fine as far as I know. Just make sure to pay the taxes on any winnings and you are within the law.

When I was a little freckle faced brat, the family I lived with used to go visit relatives in Arkansas, this was my first experience with chiggers and I hope to never have that experience again. During the entire vacation I spent all my time scratching, itching and whining. That is one memory that will last forever!

Don't worry about the new lingo, I don't speak it either, but there are plenty of good posters here that still can make a post that we all can understand.

I have been playing for 9-10 years online and have pretty much quit anymore as it is just so different and sometimes a hassle. But when I have opted to spend a tiny bit for that play at home fix, I stay with the casinos that have had no problem accepting my deposits. The ones that don't I just uninstall them.

Although there are fees related to using Ewallet and Quicktender, it is generally hassle free and easy to use.

So although we don't have all the casino choices we once had, we do still have enough to amuse us when need be.
