Weird Club World issue w/Vista

Scenario:

I went back to using Vista and am happy with it now. It seems that they've fixed a lot of the issues with SP1.

So, I re-download an RTG casino, and it installs and runs just fine - until I try to play any game.

It doesn't even get to the point of trying to download the game. As soon as I click on the game I want to play, it starts up another instance of the casino! I jumped on live chat, and they tried to tell me that it was a Firewall &/or antivirus issue. I'm glad I know something about this, because I know for a fact that it isn't. If it was, it wouldn't start another instance of the casino. Bottom line is, they have to email their IT department (RTG themselves?) and figure out what's going on.

I've already tried setting the "compatibility" to XP w/SP2 as well as running it as Administrator. Both times I got the same results.

Has anyone else experienced this?

edit: Here's an even better SS that shows two instances of the casino running, and the fact that I'm already logged in.

I have Vista, but only play one RTG, and even that is sporadic. It's Inetbet, and I've never had that issue Win.

Actually, Vista has caused me alot less problems than I had anticipated....knock on wood. Hope you get it resolved.

I have Vista and have very few problems with it. I play both Inet and Clubworld and have had no issues with either except for with firewalls. Need to disable all firewalls during download and installation or you don't seem to get the whole download. So check your firewalls, after installation it is no longer an issue. Hope this helps

I have no issues with Vista and RTG casinos, be sure you have installed all the updates and then look into your firewall after that maybe it is blocking the game play?

*sigh*

It's not a firewall issue. Nor is it an AV issue.

#1: I turn windows firewall off the second I install a M$ operating system. It's useless.
#2: I don't run a software firewall. By the time any malicious packets hit a software-based firewall running on your computer, it's already too late. A good AV program (NOD32, which gives the same results when it's disabled.) Everyone is better off if they were to use a router, and the firewall available on it. Every router nowadays has some sort of firewall.

No disrespect meant, but there's no "whole download" to it. You either get all of the download, or none at all. If your download doesn't complete (for any program,) it'll spit out errors when you try to run that program. There's no "errors" in this case. The casino installed & runs fine, but the games don't even try to download, once you click on them.

Even so, thanks for the suggestion.

edit: I just triple checked, and there's no possibility that it's any sort of file/user permission issue.

Read above. :)

And yes, I have auto-updates on, and am up to date on them.

And again, if it was a firewall issue (which it can't be, because I don't run one,) then how would anyone explain the fact that THE CASINO ITSELF launches a second instance of itself?

That's funny Winbig, as I immediately turn off my Windows firewall as well. I find that all it does is cause me problems, and it provides no benefit. Every time I reboot, I get that annoying window that pops up and tells me there are security risks with my computer. Only security risk is that I have Windows Firewall turned off. I'm with you..it's basically useless.

FTR, I've been working with computers for the past 14 years. I started building them with the second computer I ever had, back in 1995. I've worked for 2 different Internet providers back in the late 90's; starting out in Tech Support, and moving on up to Systems & Network Administrator.

I sorta know what I'm doing. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem, and how they fixed it....:)

If you click on that little warning shield down by the clock, look on the left hand side of the window that comes up for "Change the way security center alerts me." In there, click on "Don't notify me and don't display the icon."

edit: You can also get there by going to control panel > security center

It's definitely an issue with CW. I just downloaded and re-installed iNetBet, and that works fine.

I also uninstalled, re-downloaded, and re-installed CW.

...Same results.

Sounds like you got it sorted then, I am running vista aswell and for the life of me can not get any sound out of RTG software, I can hear the blackjack fine but when I go to play the slots the sound goes and i can not get it back, It must be a compability issue or something,.

Nah, not sorted, just narrowed down to being a CW issue, not RTG :)

If they're waiting on a response from RTG, I'd lay odds that the UIGEA is overturned before that happens. :D

I uninstalled CW several months ago. It had been fine on Vista until they upgraded -- the one with this new b&w lobby (the one with the sillouettes). Primary problem was when I would click on something it wouldn't go anywhere. Sometimes when I would try to log in it would tell me I was logged in alreadyDid the usual uninstall reinstall, blah blah... nothing helped. I gave up and uninstalled.

No such problems w/INetBet.

Well, 2 days now and no response, not even asking me for any more details.

I jumped on live chat and waited about 15 minutes and was told that the ticket is still open, but I need to wait another day.

I wouldn't be surprised if they told me the same thing tomorrow.

No sweat off my back. I just want to play off the .93 left in my account. I'm sure it'll just take a minute or two. :)
