I have worked in the industry for some time now.

Always been a huge meister's fan. I used to write from time to time some articles for a website I used to work for, so never had the time on posting on forums.

Now I have joined like 3 of them, and my favorite is the meister's one.

One thing I can tell you, I decided to start posting becuase I believe I have achieved a good knowledge of how the industry works. Not only with Casinos, but poker rooms, Bingos and sportbooks. I am sure that I can learn stuff in these forums. I am very opened minded and always looking to learn more.

You will see me often here, unless I get banned, I am online almost 18 hours a day... So 100% of those hours I am looking for updates on casinomeister, plus researching about the gambling industry everywhere

And I enjoy learning every durty and good trick about the gambling industry.

I enjoy watching it evolve and how people like the meister make an effort to keep everyone playing a good game.

I don't know howcome some people risk their money at some sites without even knowing the basics on picking an online gambling company.

But yes.. most of the times I am online... I really don't like it much, but at least I don't waste my time on (deleted) or making friends in Hi5 or stuff like that.

I enjoy following the daily news on online gambling and watching each company's strategie to stay on the top.

Wow as a citizen of Washington State I cant believe this. I didnt even hear anything about this in the news here. I wonder if this includes online poker as well.

By the way, to the moron who said that their are indian casinos everywhere and that the government makes money off of them here he is an idiot. First of all, the government couldnt tax indian casinos because they are exempt. Secondly, those casinos are not run by Indians. Gambling is legal in Washington State, as long as they are "house banked card games". So blackjack, pai gow, 3 card poker, texas hold em etc.... is all legal. That is what the state makes money off of from taxes. Additional games such as slots, roulette, and craps are all restricted to Indians.

What I think is funny is that gambling is legal here, and the state condones it, however internet gambling is illegal obviously because the government gets no taxes from it. They want to make us go to casinos where they can get money from us. I guess at the end of the day thats what its all about...

Of course it will affect poker.. at least online.

Try making a deposit with your credit card on any poker room. If they use a legit processor, most likely it won't go through. I know of about only 3 banks in the US who haven't started banning this transactions.

If you want to learn about what is happening, go to google new. Type online gambling law and you will learn all about it.

Also a lot of sites related with gambling are referring to the issue.

In fact, I saw on an article today that forums are making a huge impact on the matter...

But anyways I don't buy the argument that government opposes it solely because they don't get taxes from it. That is kind of silly because if they wanted taxes, they would legalize it. I forget how many hundreds of millions the Florida casinos are expected to contribute to the state coffers, but a majority of the lawmakers were still opposed to it. Of course if they allow unregulated foreign casinos to operate freely here then they would also have to answer to the folks losing their jobs at Harrahs. It has never been popular with the people for jobs to be lost to overseas interests.

John G is right...and there have already been totally unsubstantiated accusations from politicians that online gambling could (LOL) be used to the advantage of terrorists and money launderers, despite the fact that most of the companies comply with the international FATF requirements.

Similarly, allegations have been made that online gaming generates more chargebacks and fraud for the banks, but that too has been statistically disproved last year by a banking survey.

I guess the interest is because:

1) The USA is still a major generator of business for an industry that continues to expand

2) The complexity of legislating in the USA in a federal and state sense is so intriguing

3) The double standards of some of the politicians makes for fascinating reading (eg banning some forms of gambling on moral grounds but not others) Same applies to the incredible influence of defined interest groups and the lobbying system.

4) Trying to be charitable, perhaps some of these legislators really do have moral objections, but then (3) is hard to rationalise.

5) The fact that the logic of better protection, more jobs and tax revenues through regulation seems to have been ignored - by the looks of it wilfully.

6) Surprise that the more progressive moves toward regulation by countries like the UK have seemingly not moderated the views of certain politicians.

7) The situation where the D o J can cause losses of tens of millions simply by writing letters to hardnosed US media owners telling them that they may be committing an offence in accepting online gambling adverts. Without a single successful prosecution being mounted! (Bear in mind that there may have been *settlements* but no court findings.)

8) Because incidents like the WTO high profile dispute generate so much international interest.

I think the Washington ban obviously passed for the same reasons the Nevada one did. The casinos don't want the competition.

Now anyone interested in a traffic website? Make a site mapping free wireless net sites, coffee shops and book stores, just across the border surrounding Washington so Washingtonians can make their withdrawls. Deposits, gaming and withdrawls for those who live within a reasonable drive of the border.

How many people still think there is no drinking of alcohol in "dry counties"?
The passage and repeal (repeat) of Utah's ridiculous alcohol laws has been something I've followed for amusement for many years... The 'get drunk law' the 'bring your own' law. You'd swear the lawmakers there are drunk.

Lay off you big babies! Anybody who doesn't earn their living is pure scum in my book, and the casino Indians top the list for me. I live down the road from an Indian casino and reservation, and believe me they've done nothing but hurt the area by buying up all the land around here from their casino revenues and increasing the tax burden on the rest of us. Even though the Supreme court has ordered them to pay taxes on the land purchased outside of their tiny reservation, they still haven't coughed up a dime, and refuse to acknowledge the U.S Supreme court's decision. The self-proclaimed tribal leader is the brains behind their many enterprises and is a graduate of Harvard. Without him they'd just be a bunch of lazy drunks like they have been for decades. Don't make a stand against me unless you're living it first hand like I am. Most of them are lazy SCUM in my area.

First, I might get in trouble with my employers.. I am here for personal business, not to involve my company.

I have worked as customer service representative for several year.

As part of the bonus department for one major sportsbook in which my job was majorly assisting the customer service managers for over 6 months.

I have trained large groups of people as CS representatives.

I know about analyzing game sessions and fraud prevention.

Wide knowledge on deposit methods.

I worked also taking care of VIP customers at a major casino, at this place I also supervised a department which handles a little bit of everthing.. from new accounts to customer recovery.

Now days my job is related to casino activity, poker software and sportsbook customer service. On top of that I help the manager by improving our customer service department and websites to avoid making all the awful mistakes I have seen through my experience

Honestly,

I have made some bad calls in my years in the industry...

As any human, we all make mistakes... Never the less I like working for companies that honor their promotions, provide professional service, will never ignore or hang up on a customer or focus on scamming someone.

Is true, a company wants to be a good one.. why would they invest efforts and money on screwing up people? I believe is better on making sure that you are doing better than others.

When ever I have seen something is not right, I have always approached my manager and tell him what I believe is not right or what we are doing fine. He might ignore the comment or do something about it, never the less I am 100% sure we always are making things in beneffit of the customer...
