This is a new game introduced by Wagerworks I think - perhaps KK or somebody can confirm that?

Anyway - the WOO page states that the optimal strategy is simple;

"The strategy is simple, the player should raise on any pair or higher."

I found that you can try Wan Doy poker out for free at Virgin casino, but you don't seem to be able to raise - the only option is to call.

Am I missing somehting?

Calling means that you have to place an additional wager equal to your ante, so you could call it a raise. Btw, it is not a new game. It was available at WW casinos, then it disappeared a couple of years ago.

Thank you Grandmaster.

Basically then, optimal strategy would be to call (otherwise called a raise) on any pair or higher hand.

I have no doubt that Wizard of Odds is correct, but it does seem counter intuitive calling with a low pair such as 2-2 ?

Yes, but calling only increases your total wager by 1/3 (so if you lose, you are not much worse off than by folding) and there is a decent possiblity that dealer has no pairs.

If you fold, you lose your bet automatically. If you raise, you still expect to lose, but on average you will lose less than if you folded.

Certainly not new - it's been on WW as long as I can remember and was my favourite game for clearing WRs back in the days when Wagerworks casinos had some decent bonuses and the game was allowed at 100%.
Those great days are gone now... :(

As the two posters above have said - that is the best strategy.
GM is also right that the game was withdrawn for a period of about 6-months about 2 years ago - but I never found out why... :confused:

I love the way it's a bit like a mix of PaiGow & Caribbean Stud.
The best I've hit is the second-highest combination:-
