as far as I can tell the only way to withdraw here for me is via Bitcoin now, which takes days and is a whole other can of worms

I'm also aussie, and BTC is now the only means of withdrawal for AU players at VS.

I receive my winnings to CoinJar (BTC) account within 30min, at most 1 hour. It then take a further 30min to 90min max to have the pending BTC transfer verified. From there I transfer the funds to either the ATM car or myAU bank account. The later, if withdrawn before 11am, arrives in my AU bank account that night at around 9:30pm.

It certainly does not take days.

Maybe you need to change BTC wallet's.
