More than a month ago i have opened an account and i made a deposit into Vegas Poker Casino account. I deposited 100 euro. At the moment i opened the account i didn't think that choosing euro as my account's currency is a crime. I live in Turkey. My country is a candidate to be a member of a European Union some day- so why i should choose dollar and not euro? I think that my choice was very nartural. Soon after this my account was locked. I didn't even make one bet before that. So i wrote an email to the casino. And the answer shocked me: not only they locked my account - they will keep MY DEPOSIT. Can you believe it???

Here is the answer from the casino.

"We write to inform you that your account has been discontinued.

Please note that the currency you have chosen does not comply with our
Terms and Conditions.
Please check our Web site under "About Us", "Terms and Conditions",
"Registration", as follows:

All accounts opened not according to our Account Currency Policy (i.e.
Euro accounts opened from a non-EU country) will be locked: should you
have made a deposit before the account is locked, the Casino cannot be
held responsible for any action taken afterwards
"
***********

Please, pay attention: i didn't make a single bet at the casino. All i did- deposited 100 euro. That is it. Now they claim the they are not responsible for that money. And who is responsible? My account is locked, i cannot access the money. What kind of casino is that?
Why is the casino which openly robs the players in the accredited casinos list on this website?

Beats me.....

No reputable casino will ever just confiscate your money because you made an honest mistake.

This in their terms, but it's not really reasonable to expect people to read through 11 pages (yes 11, and you have to read them all to find this), and if you don't, invoke a 'not only are we going to close your account, as is our right, but we're also going to steal your deposit' and cackle maniacally.

If you used a credit card it would be correct for you to institute a chargeback against this casino because they have not provided the gambling services they were contracted to provide. If you used neteller, I would suggest contacting them, as they also might be able to help with getting your refund.

I just got a message from the casino representative. I hope he/she will help me.

To be honest, it is irrelevant.

The terms and conditions are strictly unfair. Just because they have the term in their contract with you doesnt make it right.

Its like a murderer writing a letter saying Im going to kill you tonight, it wouldnt make it right or legal to do so.

This group is fast sliding down the slippery slope of con men (IMHO)

I know it's beside the point, but the dollar is actually worth more than the Euro right now...
Huh? :what: A dollar is worth about 78 Euro cents right now. It sucks!

I'm still waiting for the casino to get back to me on this. Apparently, the player never received his deposit back. I still don't have the full story - so I'm still waiting on this.

Still i wasn't paid. This is the last message i received from a casino representive at Casinomeister:

Dear Hakapuku,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Vegas VIP Lounge representative, unfortunately they have been called away due to a personal emergency, however I have been asked to inform you that the casino is close to resolving your complaint and you will be hearing from them soon.

Thank you for your patience and Kind Regards

yet another software error??

There seems to be A LOT of semmingly respectable casinos who have been behaving like card sharps.

Perhaps there should be a clause in the terms and conditions which state that if you deposit in the wrong currency and you win, you will be refunded your full deposits but the balance ie winnings will be paid in the correct currency ie $ in this case. The players will then think twice about depositing in a higher currency because of the risks involved eg being paid $ thru winning with euros.

It's truly shocking to see the level a once respected group of casinos is willing to stoop to.

Asking European players to play in dollars rather than euros is ok, if a little odd, but the practice of retaining deposits is unbelievable - I can't imagine even many rogue casinos thinking they might get away with it.

To find the following terms you have to click through from a page with 9 options, so all but the most keen-eyed bonus hunters are likely to miss them (and even bonus hunters would often only check the promotion terms).
Registration

- Please note that only users from United Kingdom and Northern Ireland will be able to open a British Pound account.
- Please note that only residents of the European Union will be able to open an account in Euros.

All accounts opened not according to our Account Currency Policy (i.e. Euro accounts opened from a non-EU country) will be locked: should you have made a deposit before the account is locked, the Casino cannot be held responsible for any action taken afterwards.
Note "only residents of the EU will be able to open an account in Euros" - except that's not the case. Why is it beyond MG or the casino to limit the currency options depending on the address given?

Perhaps this behaviour shouldn't suprise us from this group, though. The above and the following e-mail should see this group instantly removed from the accredited casino list here and, if an apology and retraction aren't forthcoming, added to the rogue list.

A casino denying winnings on the basis of a player having taken the casino up on a number of it's offers :eek2: I know the standards we expect from casinos are sinking by the day, but there has to be a limit...

After extensive analysis of your *********** account, it appears that you have on a number of occasions taken advantage of the goodwill of the Vegas Joker

As a result, the Vegas Poker Casino felt that it had no other option but
to lock your account and deny your respective winnings.

These decisions were taken only as a last resort and were enacted in
adherence to the Vegas Poker Casino terms and conditions.

However we do not wish you to experience any financial loss as a
consequence of this decision, so as an act of goodwill your original
deposits have been refunded.

We regret to inform you that we cannot enter into negotiations with you
over this matter and thank you for your understanding.

Kind Regards,

Jody

Call me a cynic but;

Would that personal emergency be that they havent had a holiday in the last Week?

This has nothing to do with software. The OP had deposited in the wrong currency.
I am totally fine with casinos excluding people from bonuses based on the currency of the account, but if a player does not take a bonus, why does the casino care? Confiscating players' deposits just because they signed up in the "wrong" currency is totally unacceptable. How can ecogra condone this?

If the website says "- Please note that only users from United Kingdom and Northern Ireland will be able to open a British Pound account. - Please note that only residents of the European Union will be able to open an account in Euros", then people should not be offered currencies they are not allowed to play in. If the casino allows a player from Turkey or Australia to register a euro account, then the casino itself is in breach of its own T&C or can be deemed to have waived this clause. (Just to pick a further nit, Northern Ireland is part of the UK, whereas the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands also use the pound, but are not part of the UK.)

One week after i made my first post here i was said that my accounts with my deposits in them will be opened.
--In light of your recent communications with the Vegas VIP Lounge
Representative, the Vegas VIP Lounge has reviewed your case.

Accordingly it has made an exception to its terms and conditions and has
unlocked your various Euro currency casino accounts. You are now free to
play at your convenience with these accounts.--

I don't feel obliged to say thank you to the casino or its representative since what they call "an exception" is only giving back my deposits which they didn't have any right to take from me in this case.
And thanks to Casinomeister and his website who really helped me. I think also that this group of casinos should be advised that unless they don't want to be associated with the roguest online casinos in the world they should stop confiscating player's deposits this way. It is in their interest.

Quite right. Deposits are deposits and even if made in a wrong currency, there cannot be any confiscation of them. By naming this as an exception, does the casino mean that if there are similar cases in future, they will take a tougher stand and really keep the deposits. If this is what they intend to do, they should be rogued.

What!

I would suggest withdrawing at your convenience and playing elsewhere, as I doubt you will be treated to the same level of bonuses, comps etc as you have made them back down.
Such currency terms need to be in a place that cannot be missed, this is even worse than the stance taken recently by Grand Prive, where they were closing accounts in the "wrong" currency and converting them to the "right" currency.

What have these cases to do with the big fraud investigation? I will now gain the impression that they are taking an over draconian approach over the fraud issue given the severe punishments handed out for these minor infringements, such as depositing in Euros and winning on one bonus too many.
