Hey guys

I found this link:

Barney Frank told reporters today that he will be pursuing the repeal of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement, but that he will not go full strength ahead unless there is a strong outcry from the public demanding such measures.

It outlines Barney Frank's plans for repealing the UIGEA but it depends on there being support among the representatives. The article contains a link to find your reps - now may be a good time to make your feelings known.

Cheers

If you are a US player and don't take this simple step of democracy...

Then you should STFU.....thought I'd finish your sentence for you. This is exactly what you've all been waiting for people. A politician willing to fight this bullshit law that was snuck in at midnight under cloak and dagger. Find your representative...make phone calls, write letters, write emails. Camp out on their office doorstep if you have to. You have no excuse.

Yippers, I called and spoke with my congressman personally. Funny we were absolute foes before the last election but this twit is just crazy enough to champion a cause like this.

VIVA DEMOCRACY!!!

As edward r murrow would have said, Good night, and

WTF is up with that BS?

Barney won't buy into Mr. D'Amato's BS nor should he.

We're all in Winbig or we should stay home. Support barney, not alfonse if you believe it is your right to gamble online. Any damn way you choose.

You need to lighten up :)

The BS I was referring to was the fact that he won't touch the subject of online poker.

the plot thickens.........a bit of a drag to see that article surrounded by banner ads from coolcat and golden casinos. :puke:

Eurgh - sorry about that...wasn't really looking. Still, hopefully most users of this forum are savvy enough now to not get hooked by the crap.

As I said in another thread, my e-mails to my representative on this issue have gone unanswered. But today I called up his local district office and reached a very attentive aide who took down my name and promised to pass along my support of Rep. Frank's H.R. 2046.

So if you're not getting a written reply at first, then call your representative. Here is all the contact info for Congress:

Unfortunately, I live in one of the last strong holds of the radical conservatives. All of the Congressmen or Senators from my state support the UGIEA and none of them will take my calls anymore and they don't answer my emails...

I guess filing a spam complaint against the newly elected republican congressman from my state kinda pissed the republican party off. I seem to be on the republican persona non grata list.

BTW - It is illegal to send spam in my state, $1500 fine per offense, but this new congressman just ignored the law... Imagine that, a republican congressman just ignoring the law.
