If anyone is interested, as we'll be hearing more about this in the coming weeks, here are a few of the decisions made for online slots and casinos in the UK market.

"The new rules include the outright ban of features that give the illusion of control over the outcome; slot spin speeds faster than 2.5 seconds; autoplay, which the UKGC says can lead to players losing track of their play; and sounds or imagery which give the illusion of a win when the return is in fact equal to, or below, a stake.

Furthermore, a permanent ban on reverse withdrawals will also come into effect, and operators have been instructed that they must clearly display total losses or wins and time played during any online slots session to players."

I think we'll be picking more up as we go about this, if it isn't already mentioned in a thread elsewhere.

So 24 spins a minute, that's still 1440 an hour, easily long enough to lose a £300@ 40p spins on Bonanza in 60 minutes. And you'll have worn your space bar, touchscreen or mouse out in the meantime.

I can see it now, how they will get around this - "No reverse withdrawals? - let's make the games so low in RTP a player could never action a withdrawal anyway!"

More annoying pop ups every other minute whilst you're playing slots. That is not going to annoy players at all.

Do you know what will be included in this?
Any pick-bonus like Secrets of the stones, genie jackpot megaways etc?

Sounds like a thing that could affect alot of slots depending on how its applied.

Not sure how Recd tiger wil get round it as all their features are preditermined from the start, games like Dragon
fire multiways give a pick me on retriggers, obviously it makes no difference which one the player picks,it just
follows a preditermined sequence.
One interesting game that would be affected is millionaire megaways, must be the most bent feature gamble pick going,
dont know what they can to with that to make it comply as showing percentage chances that are bollox will be a real no no..
Does it mean that all feature gamble wheels will have to show true odds,as the player is influenced by those odds when deciding
whether to gamble.

Is it confirmed that the percents showing on btg slots are not the true odds tho?
I know blueprint actually says that the pie-gambles show the true odds of you winning/losing, but im not sure about btg gambles.

Can well believe Blueprint gambles are true odds, but no way are some of the BGT ones,
playing half a dozen features on millionare will soon prove that, they compound the problem by always showing
the highest percentage chance as being the winner if you collect the spins. There were doubts about the Extra Chilli
feature gamble as well but it wasnt proved either way, to me it never felt right

You think they have thought yet so far what it actually means and how it gonna be implemented? :) Good old style is to make some good sounding rule and then start to think how to actually implement it and what to include.

Think there are quite many slots where you can chose your amount of spins/volatility etc... on your bonus, dunno if these can be counted that you knew which bonus would pay best now etc... but fit quite well to this
"The new rules include the outright ban of features that give the illusion of control over the outcome"
Dunno if somebody have made already great strategies which bonus to chose in case XYZW but would be pitty if they lose their winning "winning strategies". Maybe just totally remove all features and bonuses, for sure these make games more exciting and therefore provide more addiction potential, back to one-liners step by step. Making games boring as possible would help for sure, why bother to this kind of small tweaks.

Well I think this really does spell the end of online gambling in the UK - for me at least anyway. Removal of auto spin will be the final nail and is a very counter productive move by the UKGC! Auto spin allows you to keep track and not the other way around. But they seem set to make this a requirment. Maybe that is what the end game is from them - to destroy all online gaming. I cant see myself bothering to play when this lot comes into force. I already play allot less than I used to especially with the lower RTPs on many games across multiple casinos now. Its just not fun anymore.

We are thinking of moving back to Europe by the end of this year so maybe if I could verified abroad I would play again. But not in the UK after this lot comes into force.

All spins must meet the advertised TRTP.
Each spin must return exactly 94% of stake to the player.
No sounds or graphics allowed, text based interfaces only.
No killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants

Once autoplay has gone then that's it for me, and the UKGC seem determined to force it through no matter what. There is not a single slot I will play that doesn't have autoplay. I stopped playing lots of different games when WMS and IGT removed autoplay from their slots years ago, but started playing them again when that functionality was reinstated. I'm sure many players are exactly the same. The loss-of-control argument is utter bollocks as well - players will already have had the opportunity to limit their stakes/loss/deposit/play time by this point, and if they haven't then that's up to them.

I'm still hoping there will be enough backlash from various sections of the industry to persuade the UKGC to rethink that decision. Failing that, maybe there will be some sort of derivative of 'SwiftSpins' created by a third-party that allows people to play slots how they want to. I'd even pay for it.

If and when this bullshit comes in, UK players are going to leave in their droves. Revenue for UK-facing online casinos and slot providers is going to drop like a stone overnight and people will lose their jobs. There surely has to be a better alternative to this? Maybe a way of meeting in the middle? Not according to the UKGC.

Three cheers for the UKGC! You fucking shower of arseholes

I'm from Canada thank god at the moment we don't have these restrictions but I'm sure in time there will be challenges coming our way.
I have read a few articles on this and I feel the UK gambling commission looks at us as if we are devils but the truth is that the UK gambling commission is the evil one, I understand there need to be regulations in place but what they are doing is overboard.

Gambling can be a problem for some and trust me I been there but the problem was 100% on me. When are people going to stop making excuses and stop putting the blame on others for their own actions. No one seems to hold countability for their own actions anymore, it's just too easy nowadays to shift the problem and blame on to someone else.

This is totally ruining it for the majority who do play responsibly it's just very sad in many ways. What I see the UK gaming commission is
adding to the problems rather than helping.

I guess the best thing is to stop playing online and save your $ and fly to vegas a few times a year as with all these new regulations and the low rtp. I think many are right you going to see more RTP reduction. After all these new regulations are put in place what's going to be next. If the UK gaming commission do not find a balance to this they are going to the main problem as everyone will be playing at unregulated casinos.

Way to go UK. Maybe there looking for ways to pay all their 350 employees who work for the gaming commission. All of them can F off! as there nothing but 2 face hypocrites.

Yep there is an increasing amount of bile being directed at the UKGC...but it’s to be expected when they are ruining the pastime of many to legislate for a minority who cannot control their impulses.

What you say about personal responsibility is true, there just isn’t any these days. We live in a ‘blame anyone but myself’ culture. People are finding it increasingly hard to shoulder responsibility. This is partly because of the whole ‘you are amazing, don’t let anyone tell you any different’ culture that’s now ingrained in the education system and the fact we wrap everything up in cotton wool.

It will be interesting when the UK Government starts to lose billions in revenue, who will the gaming commission go after next when all the casinos pull out of the UK the candy stores?
It's only about greed and money bottom line. The Government will always squeeze it out of you.

I’d rather pay a tax on my withdrawals than have the life and fun sucked out of gambling with all these regulations.

Last sentence. The gamble on Extra Chilli is the most rigged thing ever. New ones in town are the makers of those Reel King Megaways games and such like. The pie gambles are an affront.

I keep saying that,I use them on any game without autoplay, the only problem is that it can be hard to play a set number of spins.
You can either run it on a short delay for period based on the games average game cycle or set the delay to just over one game cycle, either
way the count wont be perfect but wont be not far off.

The problem with an auto clicker is the vast majority of people won't have any idea what one is.

On top of that it's another piece of software to install and configure (are they even a thing on mobile platforms?).

On top of that it probably breaches the T&Cs at most casinos that explicitly prohibit using any piece of software to 'play' the game for you. (Particularly so if you're using one to evade the regulations they operate under.)

And finally even if you are one of the people who know what an auto-clicker is, are prepared to install and configure one, and are prepared to take the risk on having your wins confiscated - wouldn't the casino window need to be in focus and have the mouse pointer in the correct bit of the screen? For anyone using a multiscreen setup or someone like me who uses a large 32 inch 4K monitor split into quadrants so I can have three other things running at once, they'd be no use anyway.

That really sounds great solution to create some restriction what the majority of active players willing to circumvent before it's been in place. Would really love to hear reasoning and estimation how much problem gambling reduce when you remove autospin option.

Making it limited that you can set only certain amount of spins and even some financial loss limits should be enough, hopefully point of idea is just to make it impossible to leave game to play itself for ever until balance is gone.

Can anyone find any idea behind of how total removal of that function helps problem gambling? If willing to make gambling so boring that people just stop doing it, then i get it and top of restrict autospin, could also allow Starburst to be only slot allowed to any casinos, there for sure would be dramatic decrease of problem gambling in UK regulated casinos (not in problem gambling itself as it's not that difficult to play outside of these regulations if doing them so stupid that majority chose that option).

I noticed when I play Gonzo MW yesterday the 2.5 second thing was active. But. Even if you have a win spin - takes what 5-30 seconds? It still makes you wait 2.5 seconds after the win to spin again. Ffs.

The autoplay removal will only force me to play higher stakes. The beauty of auto play is that I can play 10/20p stakes on a game where I know the bonus takes a while and go to the bathroom, get a drink, make a sandwich and hope to come back to a bonus.

As much as I enjoy a gamble, I don’t enjoy base games (do many of us?) the excitement is in the bonuses. And I don’t really enjoy sitting there tapping/clicking for 2/3 hours.

UKGC are really bizarre sometimes.

It will be interesting to see if these restrictions hit land based arcades too

I’m sure many of us have fallen for the coin picks during a bonus on Rocky £500, ‘ah if I had just picked the right coin instead of the left I would have won the Gold pot!!!’

Also I know of several regular punters that visit the arcade to play 3-4 community terminals at the same time...solo, that would become a non starter without auto play unless they were an Octopus...
