Hello everyone and happy New Year :)

I'm trying to get the information about the 'new' gambling bill which came fully into force on 1 December 2014 in the UK to understand what requirements are for the casinos to able to accept customers from the UK? And what are the consequences if they accept UK players without UKGC licens? Any other details would be great as well.

Cheers!

Go there, scroll down a ways and you see the "How do I get a copy ..." section which starts with a link to a PDF of the LCCP. Not a difficult read, redundant in parts, might be a good place to start.

At present, little sign of consequences for non compliant casinos, however it's best to start as you mean to go on because if unlicensed casinos are seen as a problem, consequences are sure to follow, and they could make it very hard for a non compliant casino to get a licence in the future.

There is no consequence for players either, but Neteller are already policing the system by blocking deposits from UK players to casinos that are not on it's list of UKGC licence holders. This would lead to a consequence for unlicensed casinos in that their UK customers would be beset by problems making deposits, and may give up and move to another casino where they don't encounter the same problems.

As well as reading up on the licencing requirements, read up on UK Consumer law and ensure that the terms and conditions and casino policies do not put the casino in the position of being in violation of these laws.

Thank you!

I've seen all mentioned documents, and was just asking about more 'human' clarifications :) The most important question for me right now is what if a casino accepts UK players without UKGC license? Should it stop accepting players immediately? In my understanding, if a UK player faces a problem with non-licensed online casino, they still can apply for UKGC's help to resolve their case. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The UKGC is just a tax grab in a similar way that other 'licensed' jurisdictions are operating. They want their share of the pie after having lost everyone to Gib/Malta/Isle of Man/Alderney tax havens.

I wouldn't be too concerned if a Casino accepts UK funds without a UK license. They may get hit with a big fine down the line but the UKGC are too involved with the big boys and spanking people for AML issues than the smaller operators taking a few quid out of the economy.
