Holy Crap

I just wanted to try the new Osbournes.......................but NOOOOOOOOOOOO

My $20 ran out before the FU$^%#NG game even downloaded. I reallly realllly hate this crap. Go& Damn you Grand Mondial

I am so done with them and other MG's that cant get their shit together to dl a game in a normal time. If it's too much for your casino, get rid of some other games

Like I said in another thread......MG is too overwhelming for me

I stopped playing at MGs a little while ago. Last time I deposited I played .27 bets and my $80 deposit was gone in a flash. I mean like less than 30 minutes or so.

I am not kidding at RTG my $20 deposit can last for 5 hours sometimes, I was telling one of the support team at Club World that, and he said "how do you do that?" hahahaha. I told him it must be their good casino. And I only play VP and slots.

I closed my account at Grand Modial and then I became a VIP, after I closed my account.

MG can kiss your grits too? :D

Seriously, I know how you feel. Some frikkin MG joints reinstall every time I open them. Think I've DL'd a few of them 69 times over and it's a real pain it the butt. It doesn't seem to be in their best interest to fix this shit, that's for sure.

Wow! That's one slow internet speed you must have Babs! Did you click on the particular slot you wanted so that it would download that one first????

I assume you did, but it's never taken more than 1 or 2 minutes tops for me to D/L any single slot from MG.

I've got *one* MG on my HD now and that's how it's staying til they fix the download mess. Just been through the totally agonising reinstall process all over after installing a new 400GB boot drive. Awful - sloooow gameplay for hours while it installs, lots of games I'll never play and then, to top it all, T'struck now runs so slow you can see each symbol as the reels spin!! Hmmm...guesss I could map some reels for Zoozie though :D

Yuk.

It's a shame that the WHOLE casino loads in the background whilest you play even when you don't play 3/4 of it. Why can't we just choose exclusively which games we want to download? It's OUR hard-drive after all! How do bonus hunters keep 5-10 full MG installs on their computer without running out of space?

a gig is nothing nowadays. granted i only have ~71 GB usable space, and only about 15 free, but computers ship with at least 100 gigs these days. cripes, they can fit 80 into an ipod, so it won't be long before a terabyte is the norm for a pc.

I have an 80 also. It's just about full from movie downloads though. I only make DVDs at night when I sleep because it needs a solid 4-5 hours to convert the files and burn one DVD, and it uses up ALL of the system resources when it's doing it so you can't surf the net or anything else without getting pissed-off because it hangs so much. I never woulda thought ANY program could tax my system like this when I bought it, but these file conversion and burning programs just kill it!

I hardly ever burn a DVD for the exact reasons you mentioned above. I wonder when I get a newer, faster puter if that will improve the speed on burning DVD's. Anyone with a fairly new model care to comment on the speed issue of burning DVD's?

As long as you have a decent processor and a Gig+ of RAM then it is just down to the hardware.

I use an external to store first and do not ask me why but it is a lot qucker then to burn.

It doesn't matter what puter you use, I'm getting excellent results on a PIII from 2002 :D. For your storage needs, get the toy in the pic below when it's on sale plus a good software like CDBurnerXP or DeepBurner and you'll be in business.

Haven't done any for awhile but used to use dvd decrypter and then burn with dvd shrink. both free via google. haven't ventured into the dual layer stuff yet. Took about as long in toto to decrypt and burn as to watch, but two part process, so no going to sleep 'til it's ripped.
My machine is no great shakes as you can see.

True but as a software developer you shouldn't assume that everyone has the latest kit. My PC is 5 years old and I don't intend changing it unless I really have to. I occasionally (pay someone to) upgrade but hardware and "maintenance" bores me stupid - i just want a PC that works well so I can get on with stuff.

No patience me. If a program fails to install or runs slow, I simply delete it and find an alternative.

My computer is set up for high speed online gaming. It's not old and costed 4k. There's no game that I can't run well, but something about file conversion and DVD burning really taxes the system.

Maybe some burning programs are more effiecient, but I've tried three different ones, and they all kill the computer.

Swede's right! It doesn't matter what computer you use! File conversion and DVD burning are the only things my computer couldn't do with ease. I could probably run 4 Microgaming casinos at once if that were possible. I have heard that external Hard Drives produce DVD's much quicker, but I don't know why.... but that's just the burning end of it... you still have to convert the files first IF you download movies off the net, at least I always have to.

I use a program to burn DVD's called "Magic DVD copier". It automatically saves the movie to your hard drive and then once you're finished burning it, it wipes it clean. Of course, doesn't help much when you're downloading them off the internet. Whole process takes about 40 minutes and I can do whatever I want while it's doing it's thing.. doesn't slow down my laptop at all.

Does it decrypt the file before it burns it also? There's copy protection on virtually all movies these days.

Im tellin ya

it has nothing to do with how fast your PC is. I know Ive said this a million times but.....I got a brand new PC that is very fast and I dont dl anything. I watch movies but dont DL them, after im done with a casino, I uninstall. I have so much room and yet, this frikin MG cant dl in a decent time. Its just BS. I delete temp files and clean my PC every week. Everything else flies except this stupid MG software. As Judge Milian says "stick a fork in me, Im done"

Yes, it does. There are some movies however that it will not burn. Not many, I've run into maybe 5 in a year. It works so well that I was even willing to pay the $40 once the free trial ran out... and I never pay for programs, lol.

Did I hear you say free? Does the free version leave a "watermark" on the film like so many of them do?

Nope, no watermark, it's just like the real movie without any changes! It's only free for so long, I think I got about 10 movies out of it before I had to pay... but $40 isn't so bad, I will get my money's worth outta that within a couple months.

It has nothing to do with your computer's CPU speed, and everything to do with the speed of your internet connection or the casino's internet connection (whichever is slower). It's possible to download an entire MG in less than an hour with a cable modem, but only if the casino's server can offer you that fast of a download speed.

external hd probably burns faster because

a) drive is newer and thus works faster and better than the one in your pc, and

b) the file is more likely to be contiguous on an external and fragged on a local disk.

As well as:

c) The operating system and swap files aren't located on that drive (i.e. no OS overhead).

Using a second internal drive would produce similar results.

good call. i do just that. i keep music/movie/game downloads on the D: and programs/os and all that junk on C:. pretty certain it's two internal and not just a partition because they are different sizes, C: is 35.1 GB usable and D: 35.7 or .8, which says to me that C: has windows on it and D: is separate with just the fat. should i be switching to ntfs, and what are any handy tips before doing so? i know you just type "convert x: /ntfs" or similar, but there must be ways to make it easier on the system, eg defrag, clean the reg, etc. does it really matter i use fat32? it shipped that way and never crossed my mind to change it until recently, not something really noticeable ya know? sorry if this is derailing, but it still concerns drive space...

No one fault here but yours Babs. If you only had $20 to play with and you wanted to try out the Osbournes. You should have been patient enough to wait until it was fully downloaded and then began using your $20. To lose your $20 playing other downloaded game(s) isn't Grand Mondial fault.

THANKS for the explanation,as this has always worked for me(when I tried it as a crapshoot) but was not sure why:thumbsup:

Ditto per my post to HGB..................should have used the multi-quote,sorry all.

Aggravating...and how about up to 12 hours or more MG makes you wait to have a crummy 20% deposit match bonus credited? Like I can wait til the bonus catches up with my deposit to increase my chances - RIGHT!

I've had well over 100 casinos on my hard drive at the same time - had fun removing them too :barf: especially MG casinos with the little survey they try to force onto you! Just be ready to click the "close window tile" in the upper right corner as soon as the browser starts opening - it really keeps the uninstall from bogging down. No space problems though on a 180g drive - remember to run disk cleanup and defrag after dumping your unwanted and obsolete (US Players) casinos!!

I wanted to play the ozborns too so I started the dl (yep I'm on dial up) and I started my dl at 2pm in the afternoon yesterday and I was at 95% when my internet connection dropped at around 9:45pm at night! when I logged back in all progress was lost, I was super PISSED, I too had played through my deposit waiting.

at least I got to see the bonus games on fraken cash and dragon loot. VERY disapointed on how much I won in the bonus games,I worked both those games for a few hours specially fraken cash, on a .20cent bet when I got the free spins I won a grand total of 2.43 cents!!!! I could never break the 2.00 total in the free spins.. at least dragon loot I got 40 spins at 2x and won a grand total of 6 bucks.. WOW!!

I think I will give up playing villento for a while, maybe I will uninstall it too because its just not worth it anymore.

Atlanta

You would be surprised how long $20 can last, especially just doing minimum bets on 9 and 15 liners. I only did 18,27 cent spins. My point is all the other games were available ASAP except the news ones. Im blaming them for taking so long to DL, not that I lost my money silly!!

btw (to others) yeah, I do have cable modem, so it's not that either. It's MG, the only one I have probs with.

PS....Patience? what's that?:p

I would convert to NTFS if I were you. Personally I would back up everything (copy it to C: or burn to DVD's) and then format the drive using NTFS, and copy everything back. Doing it this way, you'll end up converting to NTFS and defragging the drive at the same time.

and then what about the c drive? surely you can't "just move" the os files over to d, and all of this is assuming i can trim down to 35 gigs total. i had this thought already, but doing c is still going to be a pain, with games and other progs, sometimes you can't just copy over in case you miss some files and it won't work. and unbelievable as it sounds, i am 95% sure i don't have the capability to burn dvd's on my machine. the whole thing makes me moan and groan. wait'll i watch all the movies i got and beat all the games i have, then maybe i'll try it.

I was under the impression that your C: drive was already NTFS and it was just your D: that was FAT32. In that case, you're better off waiting. What's that quote? If it ain't broke don't fix it? :D

I do have cable modem, so it's not that either. It's MG, the only one I have probs with.
If you have a cable modem and still can't download the games, then the problem lies with the internet connection speed of the casino you are trying to download. Blaming MG in this situation would be like blaming your favorite TV channel if your cable went out.

I can DL the games, it's just the new one I can't. For some reason the Osbournes didnt dl before I ran out of that $20, who knows, its probably dl'd now but i dont wanna play there anymore

Oh I see. That's still a problem with that particular casino. This happens frequently during the first few days of deployment of new games. It'll sit there and appear to be downloading, but never does. Give it a week or so and they should become available (or try a different casino).

I can dl a game in about 15 seconds, and then I can lose my deposit in about the same time. LOL Really about the Osbourns, I have played in play mode thousands of spins and NEVER have seen the dog bonus. So babs it was probably best that you didn't get to play it. That Franken Cash is great, one of my favorites. I think at some point MG will have to retire some of their games or let us choose what we want to dl. They are just too huge, and adding 30-40 new games a year, it will be overwhelming to most of our computers.
