Tipping in Online Casinos

In online casinos, tipping is a bit of a mystery. When you leave a tip for a dealer during a live game, do you know where it goes? Does the dealer keep it all, or is it shared with the casino?

This got us thinking: how do players really feel about tipping in online live dealer games? Let’s discuss!
• Would you tip a dealer after a winning session?
• What if the dealer is particularly fun or engaging—does that make you more likely to tip?
• Do you think dealers should still get tips after a losing session if they’ve done a great job?

We’ve put together a quick survey to explore how players approach tipping online dealers. It’s super short, anonymous, and your feedback would be incredibly helpful!

After you’ve taken the survey, join the conversation:
• How often do you tip online dealers, and what influences your decision?
• Do you think online casinos should make tipping policies more transparent?
• Should tipping even be a thing in online casinos, or is it outdated?

Let’s settle the debate—share your thoughts and help us understand the culture of tipping in online casinos!

I personally would never tip. Maybe it's a UK thing.
Casino's earn plenty and should be able to pay their staff a living wage.

That is true , but what about land base casinos , would you tip or not? If you defenetly will be sure that your money will go to this person?

Personally, would still be a no. We have a decent living wage in the UK now. Tipping is for top service. I would tip in, say a restaurant. But in a casino, I can't see what service a croupier could give that warrants me tipping them.

But how about just ordinary gratitude , if a dealer brought for you lucrative session?

Get what you're saying, but it's not the dealer per say. It's just the cards/roulette spin etc. All luck.
The casino's in the UK wouldn't give me cashback on losses.

It's true , but if , for instance , dealer during a session , was super sweet , engaged and entertaining. You were enjoying time and dialog , still not?
But where is a different with restaurant services , when you live tips

Would still be a no from me, the biggest problem for me with tipping is eventually it becomes expected, and even pressured rather than optional. You only have to look at USA where it’s got out of control.

Online dealers are not really in a position to go out of their way to give “you personally” a better service than what would be expected so it really don’t seem it would be needed.

In offline casinos, i try to always tip dealers especially after a decent win when playing at higher stakes. For example if i bet £1K per spin on roulette and the dealer hits one of my numbers and i win £3K. In a case like that, £100 from me goes to them.

1st - If the ball was spun by a different dealer, the result would likely have been different.

2nd - £100 is nothing compared to my win - it won't make me richer or poorer.

3rd - IMO tipping when you win is a good etiquette and creates a positive vibe at the table. Plus they often don't take money from you when you order drinks. Also from experience, i've won the most at tables where i was tipping the dealers.

I don't think about how much they get paid as it's not my problem - it's their life and they've chosen it. But if we take the following wage, which is before tax, then that's not a lot of money especially if you live in London.

Most of it will go for your rent, travel and food, and you'll have not much left unless you're a pure vegan or a rabbit and only eat carrots and potatoes. And if you smoke cigarettes - you're fecked. They cost here around £12-13 per pack at least.

Got your idea , but what about restaurants? But what about sincere willing to make a dealer a little bit happier? you shouldn't tip 50% of your wining , but at least 5 pounds , is it to much ?However if we talking about restaurants there is 10-15% and those money usually shared between all waiters. I dont want to convince you , i respect your point of view , but an idea is- no one waiting this tips from you asspecially online casinos dealers , because even if you tip , they dont get it , just trust me . I'm just curious about desire to make it in particular circumstances

I think if you need to rely on tips, it's probably time to start looking for an alternative job. Just my point of view of course, hope nobody is offended.

Thank you for such a wide answer. BTW What do you think about online casinos , do a dealer deserve tips there as well?

Got your idea , but what about restaurants?

Well again waiters get paid for a job, so why should they get a tip for just doing their job? by the same logic you should tip, garages for fixing your car, supermarket checkout people, Mac Donald’s, coffee shops, petrol stations, DIY stores, the list is endless??

See how silly tipping really is? Why should one profession get it without others.

Don’t get me wrong I have been known to tip at a restaurant, but not everytime and it depends on many factors for me.

Eg was my order 100% correct, hot and cooked to my request etc

But then if it is where is the chefs tip? Why only the waiter?

Can of worms <<<< open here >>>>

Anyway slight detail but you get the point.

I would rather choose restaurants where you can choose to tip or not, because i've often come across places where there was either crap food, portions too small for the price, or i didn't like something there, but they auto added 12% to my bill.

So i would rather give them nothing, and leave 5-10% in places where i like the service. In Germany, i heard there is a restaurant where you can pay as much as you think the service deserves. That would be spot-on to me.

Pretty much this for me and restaurants, would never tip unless I had exceptional service or perhaps cheap prices and huge portions.

As for casinos, I don't play in landbased apart from poker. I don't play table games nor would I play huge stakes but if I did, I guess I could only imagine tipping if I won thousands and also if I knew the tips went to the the dealer I built rapport with rather than split evenly across the staff, which would be the case in most uk casinos.
