Thought id have a go on playtech software for a change, so looking at the accredited list, decided upon Tila casino. Joined, registered, attempted a deposit with credit card. Transaction declined. Live chat popped up and someone told me that i needed to be called by a member off their team in orer to verify i was who i said i was. This is a new one on me. Ive joined and play at lots of casinos but never have i had to prove who i was B4 making a deposit. Tila casino rep, is this standard procedure for you guys and has anyone else been asked to do this with Tila?

Personally I think this is an excellent approach to player verification by the casino, with potential to cost the casino some business making that first deposit awkward it instantsly gets over all the moans we see, "ive deposited 267 times at x casino and I finally get a win to cash out blah blah blah ID" also IMHO this approach gives the impression the casino genuniely takes security seriously both for itself and the player and is not just happy to take take take until such time as the player wants to withdraw. I'd also say this method makes it more difficult (probably not impossible) for the crooks to abuse the system

That's a great idea , they are covering both ends. Once that is done they can verify your contact number and verify a few other things such as where your located.
Potentially stop any arguments relating to each other.

Great idea IMO

agreed about the concept. i've had this once before, but not from tila. i think it was roxy palace actually. i think their live chat, when i was confirming having met the wr on the sign-up, the csr said "ok great now we will call you shortly just to confirm your details etc and proceed with cashout". way better than sending in scans to be intercepted and used by god-knows-who, imo.

first deposit i ever made with club world after about 15 minutes a window on my screen popped up asking me to call their phone number to verify my info then after i called in i still had to fax over my info copies

That's weird. They never asked anything from me, besides a faxback form after I requested a withdrawal...

yep after i faxed em my copies they e-mailed me back saying my id couldn't be read good and i would need to fax them again so i wrote them back and said forget it as i'll just play at the mg casino where i had also faxed my info that same day off of the exact same copies and there manager wrote me back saying not to worry that my papers were fine that it was an overeager employee that thought the accounts dep might not accept my doc's cuz they were a little bleary

Agreed BubbleG and Sameold.
Grand Prive also called me within a few minutes of depositing for a phone verify. Don't know how much of it was just good customer service and how much security, but either way I didn't mind a bit.

If Tila asked for your phone number and then gave you a ring, surely that's a good thing ;)

I had this once before, a long time back - think it was Belle Rock.

I had a casino support rep call me from the Playtech Hansa Casino, because their email didn't come through to my email server somehow so I had to use another email address. Their support was very nice and helpful.

I wouldn't like to be told to phone a casino up myself and pay international calls. While US and UK free numbers often exist they rarely have them for us Swedish users, except for those who market themselves to Scandinavians.
