Thirty percent baddies?

Whether you respect him or regard his articles with scepticism, John May the author of Get The Edge At Blackjack, is a name known in the industry. His latest article appearing this week in RGT Online offers a worrying statistic - that thirty percent of online casinos do not pay winners.

If you just selected online casinos at random, the chances are very high that you would be ripped off at some point, either by software blatantly designed to cheat or, more typically, simply by not being paid if you win, advises May. He also advises that while many sites on the web do offer guidance on the honorable casinos and the not so honorable casinos online, what he strongly advises players to gamble on a site that has behind it an established terrestrial casino. Obviously an operation with a reputation and pedigree offline is not going to start cheating players blind the moment it sets up online, May writes.

To this I would add a recommendation that players find good message boards like Winneronline, Casinomeister and Gonegambling where they can tap into the experience and knowledge of veteran Internet gamblers at first hand before risking their money.

It wasn't true a couple of years ago, but I'd say it's true now. If not higher.

That's just lumping all the places that are underfunded, poorly run, on the edge, with the out and out rigged software crooks.
