I need some help here. Lately the only place I can win a thing is Hype. Although I love their games they have no expert mode and after a while my fingers hurt from spinning. Also, that leaves me with few options.

When I try playing at a MG or RTG casino I can deposit a couple of hundred dollars and not get a single hit. No kidding! It is getting quite frustrating.

What I think is I need to learn to broaden my play. Meaning I think I may be stuck in a rut playing the same games. When they aren't hitting I just get impatient.

MG casinos have so many choices and the RTG casinos too. By the time I can find out which slot might be hitting my bankroll is gone.

I'm not complaining here as I have been extremely lucky lately at Hype and bingo. I simply wish to have more choices.

I do play other games like Blackjack and VP with little skill and less luck.

Any suggestions or just relating how you play would be fun to hear. Thanks for your input. I look forward to hearing your strategies and stories. :D

Hiya Addy

You know
My luck has been horrible as of late!!! When I posted my "strategy" awhile back, it was really working for a long time (doing real small spins on EVERY RTG and then increasing them if they hit atleast 2 out of 3 times on the smaller ones.) I got stuck on liking certain games and my strategy went out the window

I may try it again

I'm more of a table gamer, but one thing I wonder about some of the video slots with lots of lines (20-25) is what kind of effect is it going to have to change from playing all lines to just playing some (4-10)? It certainly feels like most of those additional lines are worthless. And while I recognize that aggregate bet can work as a multiplier for scatters, I'm unsure on it's impact on the odds of hitting a big score like of a 4 or 5 of a kind.

Anyway, I generally just expect not to win at all on slots, and I'm usually accurate.

For table games, if you want to upgrade your play, it's useful to sit down with a strategy guide for either BJ or VP, and use that while you're playing. It's nice not having any rush when you're playing online:

Blackjack and VP hold little interest for me to be quite honest. Wish they did as I have read they have much, much better odds than slots. I know how to play that really isn't the problem. I guess it is I need faster play to get my fix. Or maybe losing money gives me a thrill. NOT!

Babs I have tried your strategy and I do the same. End up going back to the old standards. There must be some reason behind that. Each slot must be geared to appeal to certain personalities. A conspiracy theory here!

Great Question!
I experience very similar problems -
hype is hurting my fingers - especially since i hadnt such amazing wins like you have realized there.
I play at 3-4 MGs and 2 RTGs, Inetbet clearly is my fav there.
as i said in a thread weeks ago, i touch every real series slots for 2 spins - and leave them at once or win and stay. I think, thats a good way, because we know the software being very streaky. so- if they want to pay, the can pay at once, and if they dont want, it kills you to wait.

I tried wagerworks with their Cleopatra and money pyramid (can see some winners screenshots in december). Very good slots, and totaly different from MG or the usual ones. might be a good idea for you?
I know, some bookies have them (f.e. paddypower, which is my favorite, because the neteller withdrawals are automatically done and take only two seconds)

good luck in the new year!

I think that is the problem. Slots ARE streaky, I don't care who says what.

If it's not hitting after a few spins, don't waste your time, move on. Chances are that if you start hitting at another one, you'll get to like it real fast.

But then, get out when the streak stops, don't play it all back....

Just to summarise in one word - TIMING.

It all depends on what you want from the slot. Do you want play time or quick bucks?

If you deposit say $100 and you have a nice hit for $500 on your second spin - what are you going to do? Cashout and leave it? Doubt it, because you haven't had your playtime/fix. But if you had been playing for 3 hours and were still about even (doubt it on a slot, but hey whatever) and then hit a nice $500 win, you would probably cashout because you've had your playtime/fix.

That's my theory anyway!

GL.

The smart thing would be to cash out the $500 and play as planned... If you can't do that, cash out at least half.

And don't reverse! ( Hehe, easier said than done!)

A month ago, I posted a brief bit about slot machines, how they are set up , and the system I use for the most wins. Zero interest shown at that time, but I believe it will help you.

I think it was on Dec.2,titled " more on random ", or something similar

The best way to play slots is in fun mode.

Keep track of how much you bet in your next slots session. Multiply that number by 5%. This is the theoretical cost of that session. Ask yourself if the fun you had in that session was worth that theoretical cost. If so, then have a ball playing slots. If not, find a less expensive pasttime.

If not, find a less expensive pasttime.

All well and good, but I fear the chance of me walking away £10,000 richer from building a matchstick boat is remote. But hey, I'll try it why not :D

Seriously though, I think what I'm trying to say is that while entertainment is important, for many slot players it's the slim chance of the "big hit" that keeps you interested. It may take years, but the fun is in the chase :)

I play down my initial $100 and if I hit all is good and continue play if I blow that $100 I hit cashout and go to the next casino, deposit another $100 to finish
because you haven't had your playtime/fix
my playtime/fix hoping to hit again knowing I am using funds that are being replenished.

This actually happened to me last week and had 3 withdrawals pending from different casinos (I only withdraw once per casino until it is processed, don't like confusing them too much  ) and had to add another to my play list just to get my fix until all my withdrawals were paid...love the plumping up of Neteller when they do hit all at once!:D

Yeppers!!!

And don't reverse! ( Hehe, easier said than done!)
Haven't done this in years doing it this way for the funds show up in my Neteller before I get the urge to play at that casino again!

I'm no expert on slots, but from poker I know that a lot of things appear to be streaky, but in fact aren't. Sometimes when playing poker over a period of time you run worse, or indeed better, than you thought possible for a period.

This season a friend and I gambled on NFL results each week. There was no skill involved, it was essentially a coin flip. At one point he won 5 weeks in a row and then immediately after I won 6 weeks in a row.

Probability is a funny old thing.

Thank you all for postings. I can't say I will play in fun mode since as Simmo says that wouldn't satisfy my need to run after that elusive win.

silcnlayc has a good way of approaching a casino. May I ask what format you are playing? MG, RTG or other?

turkey_creek I read your post more on random slots. It is a simplistic approach but I believe it to be quite true. The problem I face is I get into that mode of trying to MAKE that slot hit. I can be quite silly when I get into that mindset.

All very good ideas and I will take them to heart. I do play in fun mode sometimes with the RTGs. I will let you know how it goes as I hope you all do with winner screenshots!

I need to play at casinos where I can flush my withdrawals. As long as they don't take longer than 24 hours I am good. Once they get past that time I get itchy to play again. Guess the best way is to play only at those casinos who process within 24 hours or who flush.

I have no problem cashing out. My problem is winning at anything right now other than Hype which is running cold as ice for me right now.

Good luck in 2007!

I decided to d/l four RTG casinos. I loaded all the games then deposited $50.00 to each casino. Three of them I took a bonus ranging from 25% to 100% to get the max play for my buck.

In two casinos I never found any machines hitting a thing and busted on both. I did hit features in both of these casinos but with 20 free spins each I made barely $20.00 on a $2.00/spin. Pitiful!

The other two have been going well. Of course I am playing on a bonus with both of these and have a long way to go to meet the WR. I think my signature says it all. I will definitely get my play fix since I have been at this for hours. Now my win fix isn't going to be satisfied or rather doubtful.

So what is the end of the story. Not quite sure yet. Don't take a bonus? I know better but figured I wanted a lot of play time for this testing period. At this point I would have cashed out and made a slight profit. Now I fear I will lose what I have won trying to meet these ridiculous WR!

I do all them including English Harbor and Hype which has been good to me. As I said, once I make a withdrawal, I move on to another to satisfy that "itch". I have 3 main casinos (one of each) and then the backups for when i have multiple withdrawals pending just to stay away from reinvesting (lose) it.
As long as they don't take longer than 24 hours I am good.
This has always been inportant to me also since I want my money in my Neteller account as quickly as possible to reuse and withdraw to my checking account when Neteller is overflowing :D

Don't take a bonus?
EXACTLY! for this reason:

Last night I hit 5 retriggers on the Mushroom game at hype and had a blast. If I had taken a bonus, I would not have had the chance to withdraw at my leisure, so yes, bonuses are good for extending your play time but not good if you have a mindset of withdrawing is how I see it 90% of the time.

It is a teaser (a sucker come on, in my opinion) for the longer you play the easier it is to bust out on a good hit trying to meet the WR and the casinos know this, and who wants to "work" that hard to get money that is yours anyway ???

I totally agree on the bonus issue. Stopped taking them a while back. I like to call the shots. If I want to hit and run or stay and play that is my option. Playing with a bonus ties you to that casino until you have either busted or met the WR which in a RTG is next to impossible for me. The MGs not too bad since they will let you withdraw and forfeit the bonus.

My testing of the RTGs was a total bust! I am playing bingo right now just for the hell of it. Quite honestly I am a bit tired of gambling at the moment which is a very good thing.

Even i have problem with my own staregedy. lol.... But play with small bets (RTG/MG), and after few thousands spins, you probably win... something nice!

Just use autoplay.... and go to sleep ;)

When u woke up, you have a message that Balance is too low or Big win waiting for you :)
