Summer fun - whatcha doin'?

Lots of long weekends and holidays for some, school's out et c. We just had a Quebec long weekend last weekend and it's Canada Day this coming one.

So what's everyone doing?
I'm throwing a backyard shindig this weekend - chinese lanterns, booze, fire pit, BBQ. Sadly, most friends are busy (or bailed)

We've been having a lot - I mean a LOT - of rain around here so the back yard is soggy and sprouting mushrooms. I can't even pry my dog out of the house for a walk, so I've been spending most of my summer so far hunched over my computer.

So far this summer I have just been packing and cleaning and walking around like an old panicked lady
I got tired of this northern summer so in 1½ week I'm moving to a country were I hope the sun always will shine on me

I know Chayton isn't jelous of me at all

week = work
weekend = beach (10 minutes from my house) and good sun
august (vacations) will make a camping by some nice places here

Body and Soul, on the grounds of a castle, about 8 stages, Nick Cave, Charles Bradley and lots of excellent Irish bands and dj's, rained every day but great buzz there

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I might just crash Dionysus's BBQ this weekend! If I start now, I should be able to make it! If I lived closer to Sara I'd help her pack, but too bad Sara....

Looking forward to a lot of BBQ's!!

And every year i like to go to the summerfestival in Nijmegen, a one week long city wide feast with 100's of live bands, huge tents with DJ's
and for the healthy ones a 4 day long walking contest which is great for sightseeing and endurance testing

( the real men and woman walk 50miles everyday and then drink untill the next morning for 4 days, rest on Thursday and grand finale on freaky Fridays!

Seriously recommend this to anyone visiting Holland around the 16th of July

Well Dion it still looks pretty cold up there in Canada. You really need a new profile pic...hehe. Maybe a teenie bathing suit pic?


Of course I am the opposite of everyone here, nothing new, lol.


I hibernate in the summer and do more things in the winter. I can't stress how much I HATE summer!!! Take today, it was only about 80 degrees, but it was 100% humidity, (and to be in the mid 90's for the next week or so) so the air conditioner has to stay on. I HATE HATE HATE sweating for no reason, feeling like I can't breathe, etc...winter is better.

But, when I was "normal" lmao...I would go to outside concerts, go fishing, just walk around our town, and of course go swimming. My friends and I never had problems finding things to do. The world is a playground isn't it?
