Some casinos use another merchant name for the transaction, even using more than one name, none of them seeming to be a casino online.

Yep.......check the rogues I suspect. Some code charges as merchandise, not cash, I suspect.

No doubt all the rogues are gonna take advantage of this dilemma. They'll make a way to get your money to them, but it's a one-way street. Money wont come back your way.

Wonder why payouts cannot be returned to a credit card charged as a merchandise transaction.......if I use a credit card at a department store, then return the purchase to the store, my credit card is refunded.

If they're actually claiming that they're a casino to the CC company, they're not allowed. If they're using shady means to push the charge through, then they should be able to treat it as a "return".

Personally, I wouldn't touch a casino that was doing it via the latter method with a 50' pole.

 ;)

I get better comps at B&M casinos without a WR....This BS just may be a good thing for me.

I just went to Atlantic City on Monday, and had $30 free sitting in my rewards account at Bally's and Caesars. NSA at all. Swiped my card, grabbed the money, and left.

And that was on top of $40 in food comps that my friend and I used for a free lunch at the buffet.

I wouldn't say that all casinos who accept a CC deposit are rogue. As Winbig said, Netspend cards are still working, as is Wired Plastic. Not sure if you guys classify these as credit cards because they're prepaid, but I do. They carry the VISA logo. And most casinos are accepting them, Micro and RTG.

"Credit card fraud anyone?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmmm for the first time ever I used a credit card to make a deposit, hoping to save some of the fees other methods add on, and I had been waiting forever for a Neteller noninstant transaction to fund from the 10th!

I get a call from my card company checking the charges... yes, yes yes.. NO!!! No $5,000 was authorized by me today from some place in Georgia!
Funny thing is it didn't have any real info on the charge as far as the customer service guy could tell.
If I recall correctly, the only two places I registered that card, were Vegas 7 & Splendido. Within hours it had been abused."

Maybe the credit card thing aint such a good idea!

Credit cards give you much better protection than Neteller or other webwallets.

I'd tend to agree GrandMaster. I'd be more likely to believe (as Simmo suggested) that the OP's info was stolen/hijacked via her computer, as opposed to the casino itself. Similar to the other case this week with the 5K in unauthorized Neteller charges.
