That's so funny that you say that. I never play any other software except RTG so I have never had any other casino software on my computer. When I felt that RTG was getting tight and I could not come out in the positive a few months ago I was told to try MG Viper software as it is just as fast as RTG. So I decided I would try it and for the first time ever a MG casino was downloaded to my computer. Immediately after I had major problems with Trojan Horses, Spyware and other Adware messing up my system. When I posted it here I was told by many members that there is no way it came from the MG casino and that I should trace my steps and figure out where it came from. The funny thing is I know that it came from the MG download and I am 100% positive that it came from there. It was not merely a coincidence. I even had people telling me that I am unlucky that it happens to me, or that I must of went to some other site that gave me the spyware. But now I have you posting the exact same thing. MG casinos do install spyware.

I play at a lot more MG casinos than RTG ones but thankfully I haven't got any trojan so far. Spywares you get all the time just by serving the web. There is nothing surprising about spywares. Just buy/download one of the blockers/removers.

The fact that you got a trojan the first time you downloaded a MG software is sort of ridiculous and somewhat unbelievable. You have to have pretty bad luck for that to happen.

sw2003, i know for a fact, micro casinos use spyware, i have over 5 computers at the office, soon as i down loaded a micro casino bam bam. If i have time tomm when i get to the office , i will show u

Listen,

I don't lie and make things up just for the hell of it. I have nothing against MG, I have no interest in trying to divert players from any MG casinos. It's not rediculous or unbelievable because that is what happened. I have never had any other software on my computer other than RTG, I don't download anything to my computer except RTG casinos no other apps. no utilities nothing but now I have downloaded spyware cleaner software. I have never had a trojan horse on my computer since I have been online for the first time back in 1995. The first time I download anything other than an RTG casino namely an MG casino and immediately I get spyware and trojan horses on the computer. You are going to sit there and say that it is unbelievable and rediculous? You are rediculous for making that comment.

I might be, in your opinion, ridiculous, but never rediculous! :)

I had ladbrokes on my pc until recently and evrytime I ran a spyware remover it deleted some of its program files and it would not load up again afterwoods. Had to put ladbrokes in the "ignore during search" bit to stop this happening.

Webroot spysweeper also commented that "a host of spyware/adware piggybacks on this software"

Its nonsense that you suddenly got trojans and spyware as soon as you loaded one MG casino. More likey you got it from the affiliate's site that directed you to the casino. There are many spyware definitions that mistakenly categorize some of the casino code as spyware (and its not just MG, its also Playtech). It also categorizes cookies from casino sites as spyware as well. What the anti-spyware program is telling you can not always be accepted verbatim. Its not like anti-virus s/w that is black or white, there's alot of grey areas and misinformation in these anti-spyware programs.

I keep my computer locked down with firewall, antivirus and multiple anti-spyware programs, and have NEVER been alerted to spyware or trojans when downloading & installing an MG casino. And I've been running it that way for more than a year now. To be fully protected you need all 3 things, even if you're behind a router/firewall. So far, the best combo I've found for compatibility and performance/detection is ZoneAlarm Pro, Norton Antivirus, and SpySweeper by Webroot. Install them in the reverse order and run scans after each install until you computer is spotless and then you should be virtually problem free from that point on.

How the hell is it nosense when that is exactly what happened? How the F would you know? Never any trojans or spyware on my computer, in 9 years of being on the internet. Immediately after I installed the MG casino my homepage in ie was changed I was getting popus constantly, not days or hours after installing it, immediately after. I then ran all the programs that were advised and it found Spyware and Trojan horses. I cleaned my computer and then went back to Belle Rock and downloaded the software again to do a test. As soon as it was fully installed the program Browser Hijack Blaster popped up and said that my homepage had been changed once again and asked if I wanted to switch it back. Then Antivir popped up and said that a file called Spy2 or something like that was found, and classified it as a trojan horse and asked what I wanted to do with it, so I deleted it. I then ran the spyware program again and it found new spyware installed so I removed it and immunized my system. You have got to be mentally ill to still try and sit there and say that it is coincidence. Oh and just to add it was not an affiliate page, i followed no links from anywhere I typed in the address directly. The first time it happened I was told that I entered the wrong address and that it was an affiliate link in disguise using a similar URL so when I cleaned my computer and then went to download and install again as a test it was from the real address posted by Casinomeister on this site and it was again not a link but I typed it in the browser (the official website). Now what do you have to say? You can't say anything. 1. All spyware was a result of the MG software 100% 2. It was not from an affiliate link 3. I have not had any warnings from any of the programs on my computer since I reformatted and re installed only RTG's, nothing else

Its funny how a trin can easily become off Topic. It started out with a list of Trust RTG casinos. Went to Spyware, and now a bunch of cursing. LMBAO :D

I've downloaded and installed MG software from the same site, in the same manner as you did and no spyware or other problems. And I frequently go back to that same site and have never had a problem. I still say the problems came from the disguised affiliate site you went to the first time. Otherwise everyone, including me, would be getting the same alerts and/or problems from the real site.

Having spent days disinfecting completely infested computers (and over 20 years experience in the field), I can tell you for a fact that spyware hides from spyware removal software and can appear removed, but then will come back like herpes without warning. Spyware will quite often pull in others and make the problem even worse, without you going to any new sites. I'd bet money that this was what happened in your case. And one program is typically not sufficient to completely disinfect a computer. Adaware will miss stuff, so will spybot, so will pest patrol, but not the same stuff.

So unless you booted from your windows CD and reformatted the hard drive and reloaded from scratch, then while behind a firewall/router went to the real bellerock site and only the real site and downloaded & installed an MG casino and then had all the spyware and viruses pop up, then I won't believe it came from there. More likely, it respawned after you thought it was clean.

The problem is you only scanned with antivirus, spyware remover after and not before you downloaded the MG software from somewhere. So we don't know for certain if any of those are not pre-existing on your computer.

Now many people have downloaded MG software without any problem. Also MG is by far the biggest casino software provider (correct me if I am wrong). So it is just like the situation that you are claiming that you saw a ghost or an UFO and want everyone to believe that you really saw one except that you are the only one that saw it. Can you blame us for having doubts on your claim? If MG software always installs trojan, they would have gone bankrupt by now. So once again, you got hit by god knows whose MG software once and you are shying away from it forever (just like you shy away from bonuses).

Oh may be you should tell us what is the site that you got your MG software/trojan/spyware from. I think you've actually told us before and other people have downloaded from the same site without any problem. Now tell us to believe your ghost story???? Don't take it personal but it is hard to believe in UFO/ghost sightings.

I actually had a similar scenario to his with this computer I was working on. I could have just formatted it and started from scratch to clean it, but it was more valuable to me to try to clean it completely in order to learn how the works & hides, etc. At one point I had it 'clean', all spyware scans from 3 programs came up with nothing found, so I put it on the internet (behind a firewall). Brought up internet explorer and it went to the MSN home page as normal. Looked good. Closed IE, and opened it again and it had been hijacked and was now back on some 'search' page. I immediately disconnected it from the net and scanned for spyware and sure enough, it was back.

Surely it didn't come from the MSN home page did it? Looks like it did, but I think we can safely say it didn't. Spysweeper from webroot.com found stuff the other 3 missed, but also stays resident in memory and constantly watches for spyware activity and then alerts you to it. Using that, and also deleting suspect files from the registry and the windows & system32 directories, finally cleaned it out.

You've probably still got some spyware remnants floating around in your system. To find out, go to a command prompt (aka dos prompt) and type cd\windows <enter>, (if that doesn't work, substitute 'winnt' instead of 'windows' where I say 'windows') then type dir /as <enter> and see how many files show up in the list (not the ones with <DIR> after them). there should be only 2 or so on a windows2000 system. Now type cd\windows\system32 <enter> and then dir /as <enter> again and see how many files without <DIR> after them show up in this area. Again, should be very few or none on a clean system. If you see a bunch, and they've got recent dates, then they are most likely pieces of spyware.

jpm, u crazy lol
then casinomeister is spying on my computer , which he not.
bellrock whatevery they call them self for sure has one on my computer, that i keep erasing and they keep poping up, i down load all my casino direct or from casinomeister or bet2gamble. which i know dont hit u with spyware.

jpm, buy a new computer download gaming club and see what happens. please dont talk what u dont know

Bethug, go back and actually read what I wrote. I DID DOWNLOAD GAMING CLUB FROM BELLEROCK with a clean computer and spyware monitoring software installed and NOTHING happened.

Do you think MG would be that stupid to put trojans and spyware in the casino software?? That would be the death of them and they make enough money from players without checking out what websites you are frequenting. Think about it logically if you don't want to believe what I've already said.

Also if MG keeps giving us trojans therefore disrupting our computers, how are we going to play their games. If you are MG, would you like players to have the peace and quiet to play on their licensed casinos or would they rather have some shortsighted "FUN" and constantly disrupting our computers with trojans/pop-ups? Why would they give a damn about our websurfing habits anyway?

I don't like having beef with anyone and I have never had a problem on this forum so I apologize for getting excited but it is frustrating to have people saying it nonsense when I am only posting what actually happened to me. I am not lying and like I said I have had no problem with MG as I have never played at any of their casinos and I have no reason to try and hurt any MG casinos business. Anyways I just posted what happened.

I downloaded Ladbrokes poker and my "Windows Watchdog Scotty" alerted my to a brower add on from that very program. I hit the "no" button and deinstalled it.

I understand your getting wound up about it, but to state that you were 100% certain that MG casinos install spyware on your computer without absolute proof of such couldn't go uncontested. Especially since you had a previous infection and had no way of knowing for sure if your computer was completely clean. The guys writing spyware make these virus and worm writers look like kindergarten fingerpainters. They are extraordinarily complex, pervasive, and elusive. And because of this, the antispyware programs can't do as good a job at disinfecting a computer as an antivirus program can with a virus infected computer.

The spysweeper program I mentioned by webroot seems to be the best of the bunch so far. The computer I mentioned in an earlier post has remained clean, despite many attempts by spyware to reinfect it. Spysweeper has been catching it each time (the owner likes to surf porn sites, which are filled with spyware/trojans (no pun), etc.) and alerted the owner to the attempts. This is by far the most comprehensive anti-spyware program I've tested.

Did you try looking for any of those spyware files with the procedure I mentioned previously? If you want more help, PM me and I can walk you thru it.

I had done everything that I was told to do when I first had the problem. I have so many spyware and adware programs on my computer now, and I also have Browser Hijack Blaster and Antivir. Today I just ran Webroot's Spy Sweeper as I have not ran it in quite some time since the last problem I had. This was the results of Spysweeper:

Adware Found: CWS_NS3
Adware Found: MicroGaming
Adware Found: Riviera Gold Casino

3 Software Found
1,148 Traces Found

Descriptions:

CWS_NS3 has the ability to hijack your Web searches, home page, and Internet Explorer settings.

MicroGaming is an online casino whose install program is piggy-backed to numerous shareware programs.

Riviera Gold Casino is an online gaming casino that is bundled with numerous free software programs.

CWS is a bad one, it may require another program to completely rid yourself of it. Use this program to get rid of it.

They have miscategorized the MG casinos as Adware (not spyware, see definitions below). Though techincally I suppose it could fit their definition of Adware, since it does pop up the message of the day when you start the program. Since I have a number of MG casinos on my system, I usually set it to exclude them from future scans (on the next screen I believe). Alot of those 1000+ traces you see are registry entries done by the MG software. Another thing you may notice is it can identify one casino as another. You may not have Riviera Gold on your computer, but you do have Gaming Club for instance, and since the code is essentially the same, it identifies it as whatever it has in its fingerprint file, which in this case could be Riviera Gold.

Here are the definitions of spyware, etc. for everyone, some of the terms get confusing:

Adware is advertising-supported software that displays pop-up advertisements whenever the program is open.

Spyware is any application that collects information about your computer activities and then sends that information to another individual or company without your knowledge or permission.

System monitors are applications designed to monitor computer activity to various degrees. These programs can capture virtually everything you do on your computer, including recording all keystrokes, e-mails, chat room dialogue, Web sites visited, and programs run.

Traces are places where Spy Sweeper finds spyware fingerprints. Traces can be a file, cookie, or registry entry.

Trojans are malicious programs that appear as harmless or desirable applications. Trojans are designed to cause loss or theft of computer data, and to destroy your system.
