Slots that show impossible reel landings

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

Ive noticed several online games show spins with multiple bonus symbols on reels, yet the max bonus symbol win is 5? are the configuration of the reels so they cant land with those stacked symbols on? are the reels shown not the reels that finish up on the pay lines? is it justified to show an amount of symbols that you cant win on?

1st stack on reel 1, second on reel 4, and again on reel 5.

What you see when most online slots are spinning are animations. Sometimes (on RTG for example) all 5 reels use the same animation whilst on Aristocrat they don't. But the bottom line is, that isn't always the reel strip you see - just a picture made to look like a spinning reel.

The thing I notice on the Thunderstruck clones is that on a suck day the spinning fourth reel visibly shows the third scatter 'jam' for a moment before spinning past.

I've always thought that was the TS1 equivalent of a croupier giving you a friendly wink as if to say 'not likely to be your day today my friend' and then I politely retire from the table and partake of the refreshment list.
