Depends how long the SE was activated for. 6 or 12 months or longer. If it was expired then they can re-open the account.

"Do I have a case here you think"

Do you actually have gambling issues or are you trying to just claim back the funds you've lost?

What kind of wording is that? I'm sorry but that wording makes it sound as if you've just trying to get your money back through devious means not because of gambling issues. If you want advice, clearly show via screenshot with Date and Time the email that you sent them.

Sorry to the OP for his gambling issues.... But here we go again... Seems like CM Is becoming a one stop shop for the SE... refund seekers.

But again as i said in a different older thread.

If it was definitely a self exclusion then that has a time-frame as above post mentioned. maximum time-frame is 5 years you can do them for. Some casinos have different minimums and maximums though.

Or if you just asked them to close account and didn't mention the words Self Exclusion to them, then that is a totally different thing. And if you said Permanently when you asked them to close it.

That is then down to the Customer Service Agent to either add a note to that account noting that you never want it reopened ever. And the fact that they didn't honour your statement if you did say that, then they are partially to blame but if you do not have that evidence of that chat log from 2015 which i presume you don't, then they might have deleted their copy as well.

And because they did reopen it, I presume they didn't honour your request if what you said was true and you said Permanently.

Best bet is you ask them to send you that chat transcript from 2015, If they refuse. Then you might have a case but otherwise if they do send it to you and you didn't word it how you worded it in your OP post, then you will not have a case.

Just remember 2015 is a long time you might not exactly remember your wording you used. I don't remember all the chats i have with casino live chat agents.

But i hope you can get that chat transcript and post it here, just remember to block your name from it and your personal info.

So keep us updated and good luck.

Hmmm maybe not :( I asked a casino to close my account a few nights ago after a bad run and little in the way of loyalty. Customer service rep told me to "self-exclude". I said no i don't wish to "self exclude" and then had a 30min argument as to why closing an account should not be a self exclusion. Anyway they are adamant that they close the account under "self exclusion" but mark it as "due to lack of comps" not "gambling problem". I disagree, contacted their rep on here, they are accredited and he stated the same thing you can self exclude but not due to a "gambling problem" that is how you close your account. I don't think the information offered was correct (if it is someone please comment) but this is what you are up against

But there is thousands and thousands of online casinos. And a lot of different rules.

but the example being is 32red casino for example have 2 methods to close your account. Self Exclusion and just a normal closing of account. And many other casinos do. Not all casinos have 2 options your right. but a lot do.

Well the casino in question if you wish to "close" your account they only offer self exclusion/TAB.These are both responsible gambling tools and fall outside (in my mind) simply "customer is dissatisfied and wishes to close account"

Thanks for replies. The point is if its ok for a licensed casino to reopen a account for a customer who asked them to close it because of gambling addiction.

It shouldn't be ok but it is. It depends on for how long you have self excluded, and the longest period they are offering is 5 years.
It does seam like you haven't managed to quit even though you know you can't control yourself. Have you looked for any help? That is actually more important than if the same casino let you play again. You could have chosen any casino but you chosed to go back to where you had been before.

Also remember that since you're scandinavian they have to follow MGA's rules and not UKGC's.

Thanks for your advice..Today I have deleted my credit cards and thrown away my computer.Only way to stop is to make sure Im not able to gamble.I lost 10000euro last night I think and even if it destroyed me mentally the urges are allready back today.

Worst of all is that even if I told yesterday to that im addicted and to close my account I woke up today with a sms from them with bonus offer and free spins..

Worst thing you can do now is start chasing losses. Of course it's easier done than said. I've made the mistake many times and it has cost me a lot. You should seek help for your gambling problem.

First thing you can do now is to install a software that blocks you from accessing online casinos. You can install similar app also for your smartphone. Most of them aren't free but here's two that I could find:
- Gamban
- K9 Protect yourself (parental control software but it works, you need to configure the settings to only block online casinos. Ask someone to set a password for you.)

Thanks for all the advice.I will do everything I can to stop and hope things get better with time.Hope everything will be allright for you to in the future.
